I love Bill's routine on why women get paid less. If the Titanic is sinking and the women and children get in the lifeboats first, I get paid more until that rule changes. Perfect.
@Daniel Garvey Search what? You didn't even present a clear contention to search. Only a vague statement presented as fact with no way to verify it. When I search "women more likely to die in disasters", it is all natural disasters. E.g. "Researchers found that women faced a plethora of gendered challenges as they evacuated, sought shelter, and rebuilt their lives. These patterns were “both overlapping and distinct from those experienced in developing countries.” They included increased reports of domestic violence associated with a lack of safe spaces in relief centers and a shortage of housing affordable to low-income women supporting families." womenintheworld.com/2017/10/12/why-women-are-more-likely-than-men-to-die-in-natural-disasters/ When I searched "women more likely to die in disasters ship sinking", I got a study that says women sometimes survive more than men("The evacuation of the Titanic serves as the prime example of chivalry at sea. Men stood back, while women and children were given priority to board the lifeboats. In the end, 70% of the women and children were saved compared with only 20% of the men"), but when they do not, "The most important argument would be that men are physically stronger than women." www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3421183/ I thought women were equal to men in every way. Is that a sexist study? How dare you reference it. Are you sexist? I am being facetious, but it seems like women want to be the victim due to sexism even though the real answer is biological differences between men and women. However, bringing up these obvious differences is considered sexist, prejudice, bigoted, etc... Women being weaker than men is a better reason for the mythological pay-gap than a systemic sexist society hellbent on oppressing women, or an unwritten maritime law. I am not even sure what your ultimate point was. If you source your claim it will be much clearer, but you cannot be bothered to do that. Instead you put the onus on anyone reading your vague statement to try and figure out WTF you are talking about... You really suck at arguments. I bet you have a shit load of karma on reddit and a gender studies degree.
@Daniel Garvey Look, you are learning how to make a case. "During such disasters" is vague. You could have said "shipwrecks" but you didn't. Besides I searched that and the results were ambiguous. Did you actually read any of those studies? How could I properly retort without knowing what you are actually sourcing or arguing? Do you have any idea how to present an idea coherently? If you cannot be bothered to do that, you better not chime in, especially if elaborating is something you resist doing. If you can't be bothered to express yourself in a thoughtful manner, most people can't be bothered to take you seriously. This thread is about the supposed pay-gap and women being able to abandon ship before men. Nothing you have stated refutes women getting on lifeboats before men. It states that once it comes down to being in the water and fighting for your life on your own, women die more often due to being weaker(more often than not). That is not a relevant point to the OP's post. I hope you can understand how you aren't making any sense.
Comedy specials are definitely watered down. I see what Bill is saying. The way we consume content isn't conducive to comedy. He's over pumping out specials because it isn't appreciated the same as it used to. He paid his dues and is forced to be put in a category with lower level talent because they're all on the same platform. Bill is incredibly smart. What he's doing with All Things Comedy is his answer to this. A platform with comedians hand picked by himself, a future hall of famer comedian. It's not purely his content but it's at least a better group to be a part of.
i dont disagree with you or BIll but the issue is that alot of people cant never see him or most professional comics live unless they put out comedy specials or watch clips on youtube. hell the few time professional comics even come to my state im priced out of being able to go. and they only do one night. outside of Bert everyone one did one night in my state. so unless im sitting there ready to pay for a ticket the second they go on sale. i cant go. i hope he and every over good comic keeps making specials because its the only way i get to see my favorite comics. im glad is making his own platform. its a good thing to weed out the trash tier comics which also get comedy specials because netflix is pretty dam happy to let comics who rightly dont deserve a special to make them. i can think of one "comic" who only got because she knows how to drum up an outrage mob.
@@ace-kz9id That's a fair point, Ace.. Only a small percentage of comedy fans are able to see them live, so unless they continue to makes specials, no one will see all their time and effort put into each hour+ routine.
Talking Thrones agreed but seems like every (random newish) comic gets special. Obviously not all get that takes a lot of hard work but the quality isn’t stellar like it use to be. It seems forced out for cash flow. I think that’s why Bill is taking his sweet time with his next hour special. He will be so real next time that people complain about every little thing. This world has gone way to soft.
Justin Forrester Don't get me wrong, I don't want specials going anywhere. They're just less special. We all want the same thing. We want Our Comedians releasing their gold. Or when a comedian teases a special we want to be intrigued even when we don't know them. With Bill's ATC it kinda feels like we're getting that back. We might be unfamiliar with them but if it's an ATC special, they probably deserve to have one. Kinda like back in the day with TV, ya know?
*Personal Opinion* Bill talked early on about "bettering himself" in certain aspects of his life, particularly anger. I've been listening, watching and going to his shows for 15 years. In all those years he's been consistently angry at minor infractions and also acutely aware of his tendency to overreact which is a strength in itself in my opinion. One of the major characteristics of his success (in my opinion) is his bullshit alarm, an everyman who calls it like he sees it. The guy is so endearing to 99% of the population because they laugh at what he laughs at, get upset at what he gets upset at, get enraged by what he gets enraged at and feel empathy for what he feels empathy for but he's distinct in the sense that he has the balls to get up on stage and talk about it without apology. And now he's under the impression that he needs to change something. I get progressivism motivations on the surface but when you force this shit down peoples throats you inadvertantly end up stifling true geniuses like Burr. He is in my opinion as important as anyone on the planet today because of his ability to hold up a mirror to society and tell us that we're all pieces of shit deep down regardless of gender, race or creed, including him, which is why he is a master of his trade. I guess what I'm saying is Bill, if you ever happen to read this , just keep on being you, unapologetically. You have a family, a home, millions of fans who feel your pain and share your joy in society and you achieved all that by being Bill Burr and no one else, so never change. Respect, just another fan.
the Artie Lange movie he's talking about is "Dirty Work" with Norm McDonald. That scene he's referencing is one of my all-time FAVORITES!!!! Norm pulls up to a bunch of people standing in line for a movie and Artie moons them and Norm just parks the car RIGHT THERE and gets out and walks away, leaving Artie standing there like an idiot in front of all these people he just mooned. Sooooo classic.
Wow...I remember seeing that scene in a trailer years and years ago and never got to see the movie!!! I laughed like a maniac at that trailer but could never find the film to check it out.
I've loved Bill Burr's comedy for a long time. I feel he hasn't even reached his potential yet. If he really focuses, and puts everything into his comedy, he could reach the same elite level in stand-up as Brendan Schaub.

People calling Burr soft. I don’t think he’s soft. I see him seeing the world differently. He’s a father now. He’s in a serious marriage. He travels way more often, seeing foreign countries and how they live. And then add on top of that he now has hobbies in copters and cars. He’s giving himself happiness and channeling his anger into thoughtful energies and everyone loses their god damn minds.
Precisely!

I feel like a late night talk show host like Conan probably can’t contractually come on Joe’s show. They are basically competitors
@@christopherrocha6438 I doubt it. How? JR has UFC which is PPV granted sometimes FOX and Conan has his show on what NBC? Sorry if I'm wrong I just don't recall. But anyway one is commentary for fighting and the other is a talk show featuring celebrities and doing remotes. The only place they cross paths is RUclips really and if they both feature a dual segment on each of their respective channels then all is fair any everybody wins right? Edit: I realize I made it sound as though the people that come on JRE arent celebrities when in fact they are but late night talk shows are, well, just different. IE: Jason Mamoa was on numerous talk shows to promote Aquaman but are we going to catch him on JRE? Probably not. That's all I'm saiyan.
Jay Bee people who come on JRE get more publicity than late night talk shows now, which is like the only podcast you can say that for. I’d consider that a competitor, not really trying to have a long-winded argument about it though

I love Bill's routine on why women get paid less. If the Titanic is sinking and the women and children get in the lifeboats first, I get paid more until that rule changes. Perfect.
Daniel Garvey how
@Daniel Garvey lol. *Makes statement*.... "Can you back that up?" "Nah"
More woman for me
@Daniel Garvey Search what? You didn't even present a clear contention to search. Only a vague statement presented as fact with no way to verify it. When I search "women more likely to die in disasters", it is all natural disasters. E.g. "Researchers found that women faced a plethora of gendered challenges as they evacuated, sought shelter, and rebuilt their lives. These patterns were “both overlapping and distinct from those experienced in developing countries.” They included increased reports of domestic violence associated with a lack of safe spaces in relief centers and a shortage of housing affordable to low-income women supporting families." womenintheworld.com/2017/10/12/why-women-are-more-likely-than-men-to-die-in-natural-disasters/
When I searched "women more likely to die in disasters ship sinking", I got a study that says women sometimes survive more than men("The evacuation of the Titanic serves as the prime example of chivalry at sea. Men stood back, while women and children were given priority to board the lifeboats. In the end, 70% of the women and children were saved compared with only 20% of the men"), but when they do not, "The most important argument would be that men are physically stronger than women."
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3421183/
I thought women were equal to men in every way.
Good to hear ppl still showing love to Patrice O’Neal and his family way to go Burr
Watching this in 2021 bcuz Bill Burr is everything we need from now on. Thanks for the endless giggles.
Bill Burr will always be an automatic watch. I wish he could come on more often :D
DAmn, it's awesome to hear Ol' Billy Boy sound stoked about life. Love this guy.
