This is the only episode that I actually watched the whole thing, spared from Maher's unchecked smug brilliance. Burr's intellect was almost too much for him!
I can never sit through anything Burr does. Bill Burr needs to leave Hollywood and retire, he lost it years ago, he is insufferable. How anyone can listen to that smug, snooty, not funny hack moron is beyond me. Bill Burr has always been a soft skin brat who gets offended and triggered every time I see him speak

Bout time bill Maher was humbled considering how much he protects himself. He thinks he is so self aware while being completely out of touch. Thank you bill burr
Bill Burr relentlessly roasted and trashed an entire city for fifteen minutes straight and by the end, he won them over. Maher knows he was completely outmatched with wits, so brought out the pseudo-intellectual persona, which Burr recognized immediately, and immediately trashed.
Maher is so not funny. He’s a pretentious as who throws in the odd French word to make him appear more intelligent than he really is. He said Gauche thinking it means great and Burr rightly called him out on it because it means being tactless, crude or lacking social grace not great.
He's the only person I've ever seen who can maintain composure and wit no matter how tense the scenario is. The guy is socially invinclible with no whiff of ego at all.
Yep 100%!..... It's funny watching a rat trying to weasel his way out of a statement like Maher does so many times in this episode. Maher is definitely paid by the enemy. Without a doubt... Funny or not, Maher is a paid actor... Burr is just ol Billy Burr. Mad Respect ol Billy Boy...... Burr. ..... As far as Maher..... He used to be cool, much like Jon Stewart, until they got paid and puppeteerd. It's sad. But encouraging that some people cant be bought.

For the thousandth time, Palestine is NOT Hamas, no more than American is MAGA. Israel was subjected to a terrorist attack and should have responded by ferreting out the terrorists, not carpet bombing an entire country in service to their greater agenda of eliminating Palestine. We did the same thing after 9/11 when Saudis and terrorists attacked the US but we went after an entire country that had nothing to do with any of it for no other reason than we were looking for an excuse to do so. Palestine is not HAMAS. Students protesting the war crime currently being perpetrated by Israel is NOT support for HAMAS. If you are really that smart, you should be able to make this distinction. @@user-zp5kq4mm4g glad you said that. OG Bill Burr is long gone. Was so cringe seeing him wrapped in a cardigan during his visit on Conan during the pandemic. Him crapping on the anti mask/vax folks.
Burr completely owns Maher in this episode. Loved when he said, You asked me a question and I’m trying to answer it. Why don’t you just tell me what the answer is rather than asking so we can stop wasting time. Burr totally calls him out everywhere.
Maher clearly likes Burr but Burr doesn't like Maher so of course it wasn't pleasant. it was supposed to be a fun chat but Burr came in looking for a fight, as he usually does.
Bill Burr is the perfect antidote to Maher's smugness. He detects Mahers bullshit in a split second and calls him on it every time. Bill, even though he's a raging leftist he can be very reasonable sometimes. I feel like he's only a lefty because it's his image and business. He can go from one terrible take... Then be logical and call out the far left

@@rp-2fFor real, and Bill Maher really is pretty level-headed compared to literally every other talk show host. He's a bit of a douche and he's definitely wrong sometimes, but I'll never understand the insane Bill Maher hate lol
This is the least dislikable I've seen Maher in 20 years. Burr called him on a lot of his snide smugness in a way that it seemed Maher could actually compute. Right, and then he said there is no distinction between Palestinian civilians and Hamas, and continued to absolved Isreal from *ALL* responsibility for the conflict in the middle east... He's not even trying to hide the fact that his support is based purely on dogmatic ideology and bigotry, fully divorced from reality or nuance. When challenged he then dismisses even having to defend his position by appealing to himself as authority based on having a TV-show that does everything it can to put on the aesthetic of having political relevancy and legitimacy so that he can massage his ego by pretending that his opinions actually matters. Seriously disgusting, disingenious and pathetic. Burr is *actually* intelligent while also being honest with himself about himself and about the world, he doesn't need to massage his ego by adopting a pretentious aesthetic designed to convince others to play along with the fantasy he has of himself
Love the way bill burr doesn't stay on amute point he keeps a certain cadence that's really great from e viewer perspective, instead of Maher talking about himself is pure maddening snd the self indulgent cringe he thinks is funny is garbage, soits cool to see somebody that don't let him run the narrative his way
1:18:20 , 1:19:56 is Bill Burr a scientologist? he certainly acts like one. burr shows typical scientology patterns. he's into aviation, is a helicopter pilot, has taken a scientology course, almost called Maher ''glib''. so sus.
The only thing that sets bill Maher apart from my generation are his outfits . He almost always has a dress shirt on tucked in with a belt. and I can’t even imagine him wearing tennis shoes.
This is a great one, I agree, but also check out the club random where he has on Fred Durst. New respect for this dude; he keeps making jokes how he thinks BM is gay and BM just laughs it off uncomfortably. 🤣🤣🤣
That one killed me. That was one of the best. I had a Wham-O Hula Hoop when I was a kid in the 60s which that line even funnier. The Geritol line was even funnier.
@1:07:25 Man, that right there is the essence of what makes a great comedian-a sense of timing, the ability to read the room, and the instinct to pivot when things start to get heavy. Bill Burr delivers a masterclass in how comedy can defuse tension and bring people back together, even when the conversation starts to veer into uncomfortable territory. Burr’s move in that moment was pure genius. He saw that the vibe was shifting, that the conversation was getting a bit too serious for the setting, and he jumped in with just the right amount of sarcasm to lighten things up. It’s not about dismissing the seriousness of the topic, but about recognizing that in a space like that-a casual, friendly chat over drinks and cigars-there’s a time to pull back and remind everyone that we’re here to connect, to laugh, and to enjoy each other’s company. That’s where the real skill comes in for a comedian. It’s not just about telling jokes; it’s about navigating those tricky moments where the mood could go either way. It’s about knowing when to push, when to pull back, and how to bring everyone back into that shared space of laughter and camaraderie. Burr’s comment was perfect because it acknowledged Maher’s point without letting the conversation get too bogged down in the heavy stuff. He found a way to make a serious moment funny, and in doing so, he restored the balance of the conversation. That’s what comedy is all about-finding those moments where you can break the tension, where you can remind people that even in the midst of serious discussions, there’s room for humor, for levity, and for connection. It’s about the contentment of solidarity, about bringing everyone back to a place where they can laugh together, even if they don’t agree on everything. And the thing is, that kind of comedy, the spontaneous, in-the-moment stuff, is where you see a comedian’s true essence. It’s not rehearsed, it’s not planned-it’s just them being fully present, reading the room, and reacting in a way that brings everyone along for the ride. That’s why comedians like Burr are so good at what they do. They’ve got that instinct, that ability to find the funny in any situation and use it to bring people together. That’s the real magic of comedy.

I normally can't sit through entire episode of Maher being inebriated but watching Maher try to pull his antics with Burr was worth it. No one's brain works faster than Burr's. Maher: "...Anywayyyyy" Burr: "Oh, you think you're going to stop me with 'anywayyyy' as if we're moving on? Is that what they taught you in 'Speech & Debate Club?" Then at the end, Burr tries to hug Maher who rebuffs him and Burr zings him, "side hug? Oh, look he's non-committal even with his MALE friends". Burr is relentless and as fast as a viper.
@@HasanIqbal85 well if you could argue it, you would have. But the point is I'm right so all you have are snide remarks. But thanks for proving my point.
The beauty of that comment is that it comes off as a lethal take down initially but he instantly qualifies it with sound reasoning that takes the edge off (that all people who don't really want kids should take to heart). Part of what makes Burr a great comic.
It's why Burr is universally loved (except for a few white feminists still holding a grudge but women never hold grudges) and Maher is universally disliked. One is a real person, the other is Brian Griffin minus 20 IQ points come to life.

He is a victim of those evil Palestinians who selfishly complain about massive civilian casualties. Imagine how hard it must be for Maher to turn on the news and wave away the deaths of thousands of innocent people. He lives a hard life!
The interaction starting at 43:53 is so telling about Maher. Bill Burr explains to his audience that he’s human, and he makes mistakes. Maher says he’s never attempted that approach, recounts the “traumatic” time he remembers repeating a joke, Burr explains that if he’d just addressed his mistake the audience would’ve been on his side, then Maher says first that he was young, and then says “I just think it’s gauche”, insulting Burr. Then he lies about the word’s meaning. He comes off as such an asshole. He’s a man who can’t admit his mistakes honestly or ask genuine questions when he doesn’t know something AND he thinks something is wrong with the people who can do those things. I’m really grateful for Burr’s intellectual honesty throughout this entire interview. Maher needs to be called out more for this crap. Part of intelligence is knowing what you don’t know and then asking. The use of French and Latin when he’s on his back foot is so transparent. If you stop trying to perform superiority, you can actually grow as a person and learn from the person you’re speaking with. Really appreciated Burr’s maturity here.
Burr regularly shits on women in his comedy and regularly makes fun of the same shit Maher does. lol he's not very "mature' what so ever when he continues to make those same mistakes.

"youre dressed like you paint! look at you.." XDDDD - burr, the goat.

The biggest red flag is always when they can't admit they made mistakes

Maher: back in 1965..
Bill: what were you 28?
😂😂😂
😂😂😂

“YOU ASKED ME A QUESTION IM JUST TRYING TO FUCKING ANSWER IT!”😂
FINALLY!!!!!
Maher didn't seem to grasp that at all, just kept on interrupting Burr as before. Incredible!
Really read your comment right as Burrieed said it! Died laughing. Burr is a beast!
OMG!!! This movie would have been comedy gold.. Rickles playing the father and Burr playing the son.😂😂😂 Best ball busters ever.
So refreshing to see Maher on the other side of bullying for a change.
Maher is too dumb/arrogant to get anything in on Burr.
@@danielvalleduarte No, he's just really drunk/stoned. Dear god, he entered this interview too fucked up. It's frustrating when one guy is clear headed and the other isn't.
@@lololounge8281 why you riding his old 🥩?
@@lololounge8281 That's been Maher's state of mind for a few years now. It's not pharmaceuticals or alcohol, it's what tasting right wing influence gets you. Look at Tim Pool, Dave Rubin, or any other "disaffected liberal". That's code for pro-republican party establishment.
@@lololounge8281that's on Maher, he still thinks he's sharper on alcohol and weed
"Stop talking like you are a general" is the best line in the whole podcast. Bill "pretending to be a general" maher must be sooo embarrassed and saying "I m wrong" sometimes is good for the soul, Bill "the general" maher!
This is easily the most entertaining episode of Club Random I've ever watched. These two don't even need to be discussing anything important, just their weirdly grumpy dynamic and lowkey roasting of each other is enough.
The best one yet. Really enjoyed this
it was a good one, but maher drinks too much. slurs his words n shit. he should chill with that.
@@stevefrank3599 agreed. He's slowly becoming a parody of the old boozer sitting alone at the bar telling war stories.
@@stevefrank3599 it’s because he does intermittent fasting and he doesn’t eat. So the booze hit him. I normally don’t see him having more than one drink per episode.
I thought it was a waste of time. If I wanted to watch two grumpy guys argue about nothing I’d attend a family reunion to watch my elders. Literally zero takeaways from this discussion.
Maher is like talking to that relative about something with substance, and they trail off into how the weather is now compared to years before!!❤😂🎉
Man, the banter between these two made me lmao. Burr's digs at Maher's age, and Maher purposefully using big words and obscure references.. one of the best episodes
You can look up the words if you don't understand
Kinda stupid really
I don’t think he meant for the big words to be an insult… he uses them to subconsciously make the other person think that he’s a superior intellectual… unfortunately, Burr didn’t take the bait and hosed him on it! Loved it.
@@Twinkie_McCream the primus inter pares was on purpose and he messed it up hehe
@@aleksandracomolaolaa figurative ceremony of the pens. Haughty comes to mind.
Burr: "do you ever think you are older than the hula hoop" LOL
What did burr mean by this one?
Hula hoop invented in 1957
Maher born in 1956
Idk if Burr just knew that off the top or if he got a lucky bullseye 😂😂😂
He probably came prepared with a few one liners but most of his punchlines seemed very spontaneous
Hell, im older than the frisbee
Burr’s last dig about the side hug was best: “Non-commital even with his male friends…”
I was a little late to this one, so I got the cut version. Guess BM edited the side hug & “non-commital”.
@@c.l.montoya2972 It is still there. Try to look harder! Don't stop the video just because the end song came up and it seemed cut to black. It is in the after credit. :)
God bless both of them! I laughed my ass off!!!
Thank you, Bill Burr for putting Maher down a peg from his high horse.
Bill Maher referred to himself as an millennial.
I enjoy hearing Bill Burr talk about the love for his kids. Tough exterior, real dad behind the scenes. Love that.
This is honestly the first time I've watched this podcast where I've seen the guest dish it out right back to Bill M...Burr had no problem controlling the conversation either! Usually the guest is so interrupted they never finish their stories. I do usually enjoy the podcast but Burr is hands down the best guest you've ever had on IMO
You gotta watch a few more. Just a couple of days ago with Seinfeld it was very much like that. Not as funny as Burr but definitely roasting Bull
@@zacharywhite211 I watch weekly usually. I enjoy the show. I've just never seen anyone give it back like Bill b did. And kudos to bill m for rolling with all the punches. It felt like we were just watching them hang out in the Green Room
Neil Degrasse Tyson did it too, if I remember correctly
@@buckwildchild it was fantastic. It's a really funny mix because they do comedy so differently. It makes it perfect for them to make fun of each other
@@FutureAbenope. Memory fail…
That part around the one hour mark in the conversation is comedic gold. B.B. is AMAZING.
“You ever think that you’re older than the hula hoop” no…. I died
😂
😂 and Maher is too high to even catch it 🙄
😂😂😂
That was low-key the winner of the hour
That part killed me lmao
Maher got his ass handed to him and it was absolutely glorious.
@ConduitKinggthe entire podcast
@ConduitKinggur gay
They were breaking each other's balls. Watch the Bill Burr Jon Lovits podcast. You clearly don't get it.
It was Bill Burr being Bill Burr and Bill Maher being Bill Maher, there is not anything particularly special about this podcast. I've seen Burr act like this on many podcasts.
@ConduitKingg 56:05
I bet Maher will never have Burr on again. Bill Burr is the GOAT
Bill was on his TV show, mahr was on his podcast and vice versa.
Maher and burr are old friends so I doubt that’s true.
Maher is gonna be so butthurt from this roasting so I agree with this statement 😂
@@kylegreene7582how would u know?
@@vandammejam They regularly talk about hanging out outside of their shows, which they repeatedly frequent. People like you are just so caught up in culture war brain rot that minor differences in opinion is taken like some great rivalry or something.
Burr mopping the floor with Maher lol 😂 I love the chemistry tho …😂
The fact they can both admonish each other but they play with the line …
Burr has such a deep level of self awareness. I appreciate that about him.
oh god
He doesn't. He's working on it, but he doesn't. He's said this himself.
Bill Burr did great job of roasting Bill. Nobody enjoyed it more than Bill Maher 😅. Too great comedians having a great time! It wasn't about winning or losing it all fun !! Just enjoy it ❤❤
Bill Burr dominated the conversation. Love it!!! Maher isn't funny without that audience being told when to laugh and clap. Great job Bill Burr checking Maher when he tried to get on his high horse.
My thoughts exactly
Don’t forget the team of monkeys that write for him. Remember, he started this “podcast” cause of the writers strike.
Finally, someone who stood up to Bill Maher. Every guest needs to take him on like this. Best show ever because it was actually a dialogue. I
If you have watched Bill Maher long enough, you would realize that he rarely invites guests in his show, who challenge him hard.
I give him credit for bringing him on. Knowing how he is
I recommend watching Russell Brand on Club Random. He did an amazing job of handling Maher.
Hilarious chemistry between these two

Burr is hilarious and unapologetically relentless. It was funny seeing Maher dismantled like this but then again he took it very well.
He needed to loosen up
This is absolutely fantastic. Watching Burr completely take the piss out of Maher is fucking gold.
I almost cried when Burr was talking about his wife… he talks about her with so much love 😢thank you Mahr for bringing him on. I just subscribed to your show.
"Non committal even with his male friends" omg freaking hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
I absolutely love Bill Burr. He is relentless, and no one is safe. Burr effortlessly brings people down to humble grounds by calling them outwhile also declining a compliment through cracking jokes against himself.
He has a heart of gold. That makes a hell of a difference.
Burr sucks
@@1001Balancehe has a heart of mud
Bill Burr busts balls. It's what he does, and he's the best in the business at it. Maher took it in stride, knowing that it's comedy gold. One of Maher's best Club Random episodes. They should get together more often.
His kids get bullied and his wife made him get rid of his dog 😂
They should TOUR together.
Not really that was a painful interview, you could tell their styles don’t mix at all. Maher couldn’t finish one statement without blowhard Burr having an issue. Burr is right sometimes Maher drops “smart words” that most people don’t understand, but Burr needs to learn to be a good chill guest and not an asshole all the time.
Spot on, and loved the bit about no longer eating sugar and bread... "my joints will wear out before the doughnut does" 🙂
It was hilarious.
Bill’s laugh throughout was so refreshing. Loved seeing him have such a good time with a fellow comedian.
really nice to see someone speak to Bill Maher like this. Wipe that smug attitude out
Bill Maher is ok with it. He invited Bill, remember that. And he went to Bill’s show before.
You all like to imagine they’re enemies. Maher likes getting his balls busted by Burr.
Ffs can’t you tell ?!
I can't believe he smugly fake clapped when burr was talking about homophobia, mahers whole career is him saying basic talking points and patting himself on the back while his audience seal claps. How can someone have so little self awareness
