Neil Tyson must understand that the moment he cares more about not hurting his fans feelings over presenting scientific facts, he stops being a scientist and becomes an activist, and don't get me wrong, you can care about people's feelings but sooner or later you must choose between those two things and even if you go all the way to don't say things that would make people angry or trigger, the truth is nobody and I repeat NOBODY can make everyone happy, there is going to be always somebody who doesn't like what you say even if is a scientific fact and that includes "fans" (And let's be honest, if those so call fans get angry if he says the "wrong thing", they weren't fans in the first place).
And most importantly, in a free society, NO ONE is above criticism because that comes with our right of free speech.

I so enjoyed the breadth of the conversation, the humor, and I agree, if we all don't rise to a higher consciousness about everything we are doomed to inadequacy. I am 80 years old as i write this. and I am so tired of people who kill other people, I am so sick of liars. How many of the 72 virtue's do you know? How many of the 10 commandments do you keep, How many people must die before you can admit, guns are not the killers , its people. We need a safe environment to raise decent and knowledgeable adults.
