Based on how rushed MK1 seemed to be, I would venture to guess that IJ3 was originally what they were working on for their 2023 release, but WBD probably stepped in when the sales for MK11 were through the roof, and told them to pivot to the next MK, thus having to either start from scratch, or "Frankenstein" what they had of IJ3 into MK1.

MK1 still is missing promised features! How are they already working on something else? I get it from a business standpoint but from a consumer standpoint, there is still “Koming soon” to many online features. If they announce that they are ending work on MK1 without the features, I legit would urge a law suit for promising features that never come. I believe whatever game they're working at the time was canceled and they had to decide between Mortal Kombat and Injustice and chose Mortal Kombat. Maybe it was a protoype for a Marvel game or Marvel vs DC game, but the deal fell. Idk, but I believe was another thing that not MK or Injustice.
I hope they give us back a more polished version of customization of Injustice 2. Being able to customize your character from head to toe was what made me sink so many hours into it

ed mentioned on one of his sdcc interviews that their next game will definitely use UE5. hopefully it streamlines their development workflow since i think MK1 was held back by transitioning to their custom UE4 engine also, using a new engine on their next game even though they held on to their previous custom UE3 engine for almost a decade says a lot about the ease of work of their current engine

Injustice 2 was the last TRUE offline NRS game. Im gonna be like Smokey Beef on Injustice 3. I was 100% right on MK1 in regards to it's always online content. In all honesty I don’t want a Injustice 3 for a Long Time, a Marvel Game, a Horror Game, a Trilogy Expansion, and Shaolin Monks 2 are more Important than Injustice
The only NRS game that I actually enjoyed was MKX. Maybe MK9 but I don't remember too much about it. Every other NRS game has boring, repetitive, stiff, and limited gameplay. The kameo system is a half-baked gimmick that isn't even fun to use. If they want to continue with assists they should learn from DBFZ tag assists that actually give hella freedom. I hope Injustice 3 is a 3D fighter cause I've seen clips of 3D era MK and the gameplay looks wayy more interesting than modern day NRS. The stances and martial arts focus allowed for a super fluid dance between you and your opponent. I would love to see a 3D Injustice with Dead or Alive 6 and Tekken 8 gameplay and some DBFZ / DBSZ inspiration mixed in. Or give me a super engaging, "realistic" combat system like Sifu with counters, parries, evasive techniques. When I say realistic I mean similar to martial arts action movie choreography. Dead or Alive 6 has such a realistic counter and parry system and offers more combat options than any other fighting game I've played. It's also super smooth and fluid. I want super fluid animations, much bigger movesets for more variety and more fluid strings. I also want super cracked fast-paced and explosive gameplay.
It really feels like M1K was a filler game. Or at least it was supposed to be Injustice 3 but with everything going on they quickly had to switch it to MK. Soo everything is just not what was planned and just put together on the fly. Which sucks. I look forward to mk1 story expansion and Injustice 3
All I ask is Deathstroke, Killer Croc (Would be an amazing MK guest character), and the customization from Injustice 2 to be in Injustice 3. Cannot emphasize how much I don’t like Damian Wayne personality wise and Deathstroke gameplay wise.
If they can’t fix mortal kombat then the next game isn’t gonna come out well, especially since it’s a triple A game since a lot of those have been failing.

Since we got two MKs back to back, I'm fine with them doing Injustice 3. I was thinking about it earlier and I think it would be cool if they made like a Mortal Kombat character pack DLC if they ever made Injustice 3. Could be cool I think.
Mortal kombat 1 definitely was supposed to be injustice 3:
-a good bit of characters have similar moves to injustice characters.
-some stages look like they were originally planned for injustice ex. the flesh pits look almost similar to the bat cave
-the select screen especially the clash looks injustice like
-Shao Khan looks like he was supposed to be Steppenwolf
-rain looks looks like he originally was going to be aqua man
-I’ve heard in theory from some people that li mei and Tanya were going to be Wonder Woman and Nubia/Donna Troy

This was debunked by Ed a gazillion times. Just because they share similarities doesn't mean it was INJ3. This is the same team that makes INJ games. Of course they may do similar things and/or may be intentionally or accidentally inspired by Injustice related things.
"Last minute decision to change"? Do you have any idea how long it takes to develop games? This isn't just a name change we're talking about. This stuff is planned waaaay in advance.
At this rate the injustice 3 will be supported for a year at most

@@THEdinkleberg14 An upgraded timeline is better than this downgrade of a timeline. Other than designs, a lot of the parts of the story is a literal repeat with some changes.

Makes since idk we are heading into year 2, expansion / complete pack coming and once guests are done pushes out until probably early 2025 , wouldn’t be surprised if we get one more pack and that’s it or they cut and run but I don’t see MK1 even lasting longer then MK11 tbh

Injustice 2 was the last TRUE offline NRS game. Im gonna be like Smokey Beef on Injustice 3. I was 100% right on MK1 in regards to it's always online content. I'm willing to bet injustice 3 will be worse. As *FACT* every NRS game after injustice 2 has gotten less & less content offline. Requiring internet for things that didn't needed an internet connection before.

What worries me is that if their next game is Injustice 3, is that it will be another multiverse storyline once again.
If it’s Injustice 3, the Anti Monitor needs tk be involved in the story, given the dimension shenanigans that has been going on.
In all honesty I don’t want a Injustice 3 for a Long Time, a Marvel Game, a Horror Game, a Trilogy Expansion, and Shaolin Monks 2 are more Important than Injustice

The only NRS game that I actually enjoyed was MKX. Maybe MK9 but I don't remember too much about it. Every other NRS game has boring, repetitive, stiff, and limited gameplay. The kameo system is a half-baked gimmick that isn't even fun to use. If they want to continue with assists they should learn from DBFZ tag assists that actually give hella freedom.
I hope Injustice 3 is a 3D fighter cause I've seen clips of 3D era MK and the gameplay looks wayy more interesting than modern day NRS. The stances and martial arts focus allowed for a super fluid dance between you and your opponent. I would love to see a 3D Injustice with Dead or Alive 6 and Tekken 8 gameplay and some DBFZ / DBSZ inspiration mixed in. Or give me a super engaging, "realistic" combat system like Sifu with counters, parries, evasive techniques. When I say realistic I mean similar to martial arts action movie choreography. Dead or Alive 6 has such a realistic counter and parry system and offers more combat options than any other fighting game I've played. It's also super smooth and fluid.
I want super fluid animations, much bigger movesets for more variety and more fluid strings. I also want super cracked fast-paced and explosive gameplay.
It really feels like M1K was a filler game. Or at least it was supposed to be Injustice 3 but with everything going on they quickly had to switch it to MK. Soo everything is just not what was planned and just put together on the fly. Which sucks. I look forward to mk1 story expansion and Injustice 3

All I ask is Deathstroke, Killer Croc (Would be an amazing MK guest character), and the customization from Injustice 2 to be in Injustice 3. Cannot emphasize how much I don’t like Damian Wayne personality wise and Deathstroke gameplay wise.
Deathstroke and Damian gets a romantic connection and Killer Croc will have a line comparing Superman to Trump for some woke reason.
When they will start working on new game then they will stop support mk1 game. I hope that BIG suprise after MK1 Khaos Regins is part of MK1
If they can’t fix mortal kombat then the next game isn’t gonna come out well, especially since it’s a triple A game since a lot of those have been failing.
MK11 still have lifetime. 2019 and goes on. Next mk game looks on very ahead. I wıll continue with MK11 .
