Canada Goose warranty is great.. one of my parka’s zipper got misaligned so I can’t zip it properly, so I submitted a warranty case.. I sent infos about the parka and photos of the zipper, they reviewed and gave me instructions to ship it. Fyi, you pay for the shipping to their Colorado repair office, and they pay for the return shipping. (Make sure you get insurance when you ship your garment, cuz CG is not responsible for lost or stolen packages on route to them). It took a little over month for it be delivered back to me including the shipping days. They changed both zippers (two-way zip). The package was well packed and my parka that I sent in a clear bag was sent back in a nice and well made canada goose garment bag. Overall, their warranty service is great just like the quality of the parka! 👍🏻
I used to snowboard competitively and snowboarding/skiing jackets usually come with armpit vent zippers and also vent zippers down the sides. Ski pants also come with vents down the sides, it’s great for when you break for lunch in the lodge where the heat is cranked!
@@b4mbi4000 yes, they come in all different colors and cuts but I prefer the longer ones so snow doesn’t get down your pants. A lot of them also come with an inner lining and an outer shell so you can wear the inner lining to school or work and have the outer shell in your bag and put it on when it gets colder but most ski jackets are pretty bulky so it depends if you like the look of it or not!
Unfortunately at this point I NEED to invest in a good winter jacket. I’m still looking for one because the high quality ones are obviously more expensive but even my doctor told me to dress warmer because I’m sick a lot during the winter and she’s suspecting that my immune system is weaker because I’m always freezing. I’ve tried cheaper ones but they honestly cannot compare to the high quality ones. You can definitely feel the difference. I just wish they were cheaper 😭
Unfortunately expensive is not always =high quality. I have now a Heavy tools ski jacket, which is warm, but I bought it in the middle of 2020 december, and it started to breaking apart (also my Heavy tools bag)... The ordinary winter coat from chninees shop is still working and in good contition since 2018 and it was 1/3 price. But you don't know that at times you buy how it lasts....
25 years of living in Toronto Canada and I just got my first winter jacket!! I wore long wool trench style jackets my whole life and finally got something thick!!! No, you don’t need to drop $1k on a Canada goose, or mackage, or moose knuckle. I spent $300 on a soia&kyo jacket and it’s amazing! Definitely worth the money

As an owner of both canada goose and moose knuckle parkas, I have to say canada goose is way superior. I have the same style moose knuckle jacket as you do in this video and I couldn't believe how heavy it was! (and it wasn't warmer than my much lighter goose jacket) My husband bought a matching style same time as me and a year later his cuffs were ripping and coming undone, but his canada goose jackets have held up over 10 years. We've both bought newer styles of canada goose jackets and won't be going back to moose knuckle.
Canada Goose does feel a bit lighter, wasn’t sure if it the design or material. Maybe the metal moose Knuckle logo adds some weight too lol but I love both brands for Canada winters
Yep, I bought mine in 2010, still wearing it now. Now the padding or lil feathers have definitely been coming out a bit but it still protect you against the cold just the same.

You should look into Austrian loden coats (the long ones). That's my go to winter coat, paired with some nice polartech/heattech base layer, and a knitted sweater and you'll be fine till well below freezing temperatures. Bonus point, they look pretty.
For me I like to just have one parka for the winter. I like to have all my stuff already loaded into a main coat. Takes a lot of thought away style wise since I only have to grab the one black parka. (CG Wyndham BL)

The Canada Weather Geer hip length coat failed me. It's 45 degrees in Nashville. I wore my new coat it was warm except for the arms. No fur in the arms area, just thin padding. 😢
Bon Jour! I love your very through reviews...IMHO theres no one or two perfect winter parkas...as depending where you are in Canada for example...-30 feels different. Is it a humid or dry cold? My Rudsak jacket withstands -30 with a couple of layers in TOs -30, however in Thunder Bay..even my long North Face parka with a few layers, wool socks and Marks Tmax technology underlayer wasnt enough. Also, keep your buns and pelvic areas very warm, wherever you are, it seems that the warmer you keep those areas the less discomfort you will feel during "that time of the month". And mittens! (Mittens are a lot warmer than gloves, but if you are extra cold you can layer thin gloves under your mittens and it works super well). Highly recommend going to Costco - they have really warm wool socks, and those thermal packs that Kerina mentioned above, and for very reasonable prices.

Have you checked Aritzia? As someone who gets cold very easily, I find their winter parkas keep me toasty. Really great quality - specs are comparable to some of the ones shared in this video.
For me it’s the Noize brand from Canada, there’s another commenter that has a black one and said good things about it. And yes Aritzia is good but just as with Northface, you are paying for the branding as well 🥲
You could also check out some of the more "sporty" brands, such as Columbia, Helly Hansen, or some of the other brands that Sportchek carries. I feel like they're often passed over by "fashion people", but honestly their materials are very high quality and durable. I've had my Columbia parka for years and I've had no problem being outside in up to -40C with appropriate layering. They are still expensive (like couple hundred) because you pay for good materials, but at least you skip the massive markup for the luxury high-end fashion branding, and at the end of the day unless your goal is to look like an IG model, a long black parka with a fur trim looks pretty similar no matter who makes it.
Something I look for is the fill power and how much it’s filled. Those are the driving factors of warmth. Aritzia uses a higher fill power and more of it compared to some of Canada Goose’s jackets that are 3x the price. I’m sure part of what drives the cost up is that CG uses real fur trim. But a lot of it is branding as they weren’t always considered a luxury brand.

Try Aritzia super puff! They are under $400 and are super warm. I can get around with a thin layer of clothes underneath that coat
