I watched a video of a RUclipsr midle aged woman when she went to Switzerland in Februay And she wore the long puffer underneath her beautiful oversized coats.... And she looked so chic
Lol, recently moved from FL to VA, had surgery n slept in a down jacket, a hat, three blankets n wool socks. Then I bought an electric blanket. I SO luv my down jacket.
I have lived in California my entire life and I don't even bother buying a coat. I barely wear a jacket. So when my daughter moved to Columbus, Ohio in March of this year, her new in laws could not believe she got off plane in a hoodie , shorts and slippers and she is a size 0 with no fat to help her out. Thank you for your videos. ! I sent her pretty much everything you said lol.. Now that it is December she is grateful to have them. . And I'm so grateful to you for your guidance.
LMAOL with this lady! What an awesome video! She is perfect explaining & sooo funny! I was purchasing the last option (the warmest) but now I'm confused. Gotta decide. Tks for the vid.
I love my beloved city Chicago❤️. All I wear in the winter is Columbia, Northface, and Land's End coats\parkas. My favorite for style is NorthFace without a doubt🔥. You have to have thick coats to handle the Windy City. Especially with the lake chill effect 🥶🥶🥶
I'm a guy and have these same type of coats. A North Face puffer is a must! But I have an Eddie Bauer Parka. If it gets super cold I wear my North Face puffer under my parka! Yes, you will need at least 2 of these coats the midwest if freezing!
@@AnaBelavalTV thank you so much, i want also to buy it because in Belgium it's very cold outside and it's raining all the time. I love your video's ❤️❤️
Good job. I would just add that the long ones almost to your knee are too restrictive for me. I get them to just below the tushie 😉. Chicago is a little colder than Indiana, where I live and grew up. Especially that lake effect. And Minnesota? Lots of fur coats. When we were there, I told my husband that for the first time, I can see where a fur coat is not a luxury but a necessity.😂
Thanks Ana I have a coat I call my CTA coat. I got from Carson’s it’s a MKors. But it goes all the way down to my ankles. It keeps the wind out. & zippers on the sides so you can walk. ❤️
Love your coat selection Ana I'm a loyal viewer of Around Town. During the winter I alternate between my quilted London Fogger and Columbia Maguire II with a Sherba interior.
Thanks for your reviews! I bought the north face mcmurdo Last winter and I think it may be too warm/bulky for everyday wear unfortunately. Wished I had gotten the Arctic parka instead. I'm looking for a short jacket as well and was thinking of the north face arctic bomber, have you tried that one?
I lived in the Midwest all my life: Chicago and now Minnesota. Unfortunately I have never found a Northface jacket that worked for me and they are stiff. I'm tall and XL for extra room. I've had Eddie Bauer Parka. Today I purchased a Land's End Expedition. I'm not sure how it will fare but love the design.
If you think Chicago is cold as I am from. Well check out Minnesota and we get as low as -20 below every year much colder then Chicago as this can put all of your winter gear to the test.
I had to laugh at the first part, "Nanook of the North". I am in Minnesota and, having a big dog that needs exercise, a few times a week we will be hiking outside for anywhere from an hour to 90 minutes. And I basically wear a snowmobile suit and look like the Stay Pufft mascot. I won't be asked out on any dates dressed like that!
I bought a Carhartt becuase that is what the people on the picket line where wearing. Moved to Chicago during the winter. Found out the hard way my "Winter" coat I bought in Oklahoma didn't cut it. That coat lasted me my entire 8 years of living in the Chicago. I don't miss the winters there. I got a face mask and scarf 🧣.
Useful! I live in Dublin (in Ireland) and winters here are cold, about 3-8 degrees No idea what that is in the other system! I also used to buy belted wool coats in nice colours *and never wear them* I was living in a fantasy world. I get around by bus so I need a great coat. I have a nf thermo ball which fits under a wool coat and that can work if it's not absolutely freezing, but otherwise, it's the north face brooklyn parka for three months. I'm getting bored of it! Nearly bought it in another colour!
Would you say the Arctic Parka from North face runs large or true to size? I’m a size small but do like getting my jackets in a medium bc like you said, layering, but some coats in medium tend to be too large that I just go for a small and that ends up looking like a medium on me.
Thank you for replying! I’m 5’4 and 125 lbs, would you say I should go for the small or medium? I also don’t wanna look like I’m drowning in the coat 😅
Saludos boricua!

Anything with Gortex is great because it keeps you dry. My husband and I own NorthFace and Patagonia but Eddie Bauer has great puffy coats that are not as expensive. Good luck with the transition.

Wrightsox or Spyder. Wool socks are the way to go when it snows or is super old, especially if you commute or work outside.

A Fab Puffy Coat and Coquito is all you'll need for the Winter. Stay Warm and Stay Blessed.
