How to layer (and actually look chic) for the COLDEST PLACE ON EARTH

- We get winter 8-9 months out of the year where I live so layering has become a sport for me. Giving you 4 outfits for inspo, which are all about layering and actually staying warm for the people who live in really cold areas of the world (AKA NOT LA!)
**Please note: When temperatures are this low, it is NOT SAFE TO BE OUTSIDE FOR LONGER THAN 3-5 MINUTES. I do not recommend any of these looks for anything lower than -25C.

MY WINTER COAT CLOSET TOUR: • my COAT CLOSET 2019 to...
NEW LINKS UPDATED TODAY!! ❤
Thank you 😊😊
hi! What brand is your brown teddy coat? and the rustic one as well. Love them both! I'm assuming the links provided are for similar jackets? thanks!
Finally someone who dresses for actual cold weather. All I kept seeing was a bunch of people from LA dressing for the cold weather. lmao
Well we don’t get super cold her so... 🤣 Miami is similar
As a person who lives in Latin America , in a place really close to the equator line, I think I would wear those outfits at a weather of 10 degrees Celsius and below 😂😂😂
Omg me too! And living in Quebec I was like Nooo clearly not following advice from someone in USA without snowstorm nor real snow and cold hahahaha And the problem with Quebec City is the humidity combined with cold bc of Saint Laurent River😅 Idk if Edmonton is "dry" feeling with his -50 feels like ?? Like wind stings your skin but without humidity it does not feels like cold is penetrating to your BONES 🥶
@Keenan Hoang I know 😅 -30 in Quebec is rough bc of humidity 🥴
@Keenan Hoang hahahaha where are You from then?
I feel like an outsider because I live in Italy, but I feel like I'm about to die as soon as it reaches 10° C... I don't know, the Bolognese sauce in my bloodstream just can't handle it
Ciao Sara, io sono friulana e mi vesto così per le nostre temperature. A -50 vestirei moooolti più strati.
@@WhatashameMaryJane noi italiani siamo una razza fragile 😂
Hahaha same! I am Portuguese and I feel the same way
Our italian blood freezes ad 5°, universal truth
We're like
Tomato-sauce based lizards
@@s.j.warlock4901 Same with us Spaniards. 10°C is all I can handle😂
We need more Canadian RUclipsrs. All the lovely fashion tips from style bloggers and vloggers who live in warm climates and talk about "winter" tips like wearing closed-toe pumps with their lightweight summer dresses make me laugh. Montrealer here.
I thought at -50° people just froze in place after opening the door.
we do haha
I used to walk to school in this weather in my poofy jacket, can confirm it made me want to just give up and let the cold take me
I remember the cold burning my lungs when I breathed in, when I lived in Canada
Hahah I burst out laughing! I live in Canada too 🤣
Honestly same
I was watching this thinking wow where’s colder than Edmonton... and then you said you’re from Edmonton. Same hereeee 😂
I had the exact same reaction lmao
SAME. I was like "eh, hold cold can it be... it's not like it's Edmonton" and then a screenshot of YEG came up.
Lol sameee
Me tooooo!!! 😂🇨🇦🍁
During winter walk everywhere and I live in Red Deer. I am so glad that someone actually made a video about wearing layered clothing in Alberta weather. I was half expecting that she was living in Canada but I was like... of course it is Edmonton. When she said the coldest place in the world - I was half expecting Winnipeg.
As someone who also lives in frigid part of Canada, this is amazing! Thank you!
If you are just going to and from places on -10 to -20 days you'd be fine with these outfits (including thermal underwear), but if you want to any real walking outside, at some point one needs a proper parka and insulated boots.
Thermal underwear 😂😂😂😂
Totally agree 👍
I can't go out in Quebec without my Pajar jacket
do you wear warm wool sock with your insulated boots or would that be too hot?
100 agree! No way you can wear coats without zipping them
Insulated boots?! 😮 I am preparing a shopping list for NYC during Christmas and have zero idea as to what I need. Miamian here 😩 Do I need insulated boots? 😳
Finally!!! A real winter tips 😀Not like all others : with skirts and tiny tops 😵 I would love to see them in our winter freezing 😀😀😀I feel you girl 🤘
Yes really I am sooo happy that Ifound this video 😃😃 I feel relaxed now 😂😂
No,thank you :))) I live in Athens ,when is 10C we say "what fu**ing freezing its today!!!"
I saw a video of a Romanian girl, a tutorial to wear skirts during fall, Romanian fall, she said she could resist that outfit on 0 Celsius!
@@marialeon6765 Yeah, probably, when you are very young you don't care...but after a couple of years she will not be able to wear skirts when she starts to have health problems.......
@@loniivanova8667 I totally agree with you, that's crazy.
She’s robotically perfect. So beautiful and the clothing is aesthetically pleasing
Also she sounds so friendly, i like that too.
@@melisacaceres8740 agree! she sounds so likable and sweet!
I am going to sound repetitive but thank you so much for actually having a winter fashion video. I live in the Netherlands and even though it is nowhere as cold as Edmonton, I am from South America so I just basically wrapped a blanket and go out haha. Ive been looking like a potato all these years so thank you!
Oo I’ve lived in NL, the wind makes it a lot colder than it is, and it’s like most of the time of the year…
Merino wool baselayers and socks have made a world of difference for me in the cold Canadian winter months. I love Icebreaker brand and pretty much live in their baselayers in the winter (and they do some pretty cute designs which is nice). You get the warmth without the bulk and merino wool is a great natural fiber that is breathable and anti-stink in case you get sweaty being active (or going into shops even haha)
Alpacha is better
These are the exact same outfits I'm wearing for -2°C. If I were to come where you live, I believe I would instantly turn into an ice cube the second I get out of the plane 😅
I've been looking for someone who actually lives in cold weather to give fashion advice. I often feel baffled by what to wear on my feet that looks fashionable but can hold up to snow and cold temps. Thanks for the great video! Please do more for those who live in the Vast Frozen Wilderness!
Thank youu!! I've tried for so long to find an actual realistic layering video for winter. Until now all I've found are youtubers from warmer climates layering a thin turtleneck and a leather jacket. Loved all the looks, especially #3 and #4
Best wishes from Norway :)
Same. Only this ones first layer is warm underwear - so she knows what cold is!😃
I just realize if i layer like u i would be a cute potato, not just a regular potato like i always am during winter 😂
This is exactly what I needed! LA fashion bloggers’ tips for winter don’t apply to Canadian winters
You look really chic! And if you choose natural fibers like wool and cashmere, you'll be even warmer. From a fellow Canadian with poor circulation.
Doesnt that get itchy?
@@sharonpereira9343 No, cashmere and Merino wool are super soft and warm. Wool as an outer layer or trousers can be lined to prevent scratchiness.
I started scratching the moment you said wool...plus cashmere 😜???? Few people can afford it.
You can get cashmere in charity thrift shops and TKMaxx reasonably enough. And wool that is lined is not scratchy. Thin, warm layers. Also, if you buy fewer clothes but real quality, that you adore and wear over and over , they are cheaper per wear. 5 cheap jumpers you wear 5 times are more expensive.
I like charity shop angora sweaters, too. Soft and warm!
I don’t think I will survive if I live at your location. I already dress this warm in New York during winter and they’re not even below 0 yet haha.
Girl don’t even staaarttt I live in the Philippines and 24 celsius is already so cold to me
@@kenzie9648 omg we're same😭 i live in Indonesia, and every night I have to increase the AC temperature to 25c just bcuz i felt so cold at 24😭😂
I was thinking the same exact thing! I live in New York too and this is the amount of layering I do
@@yuju6840 Literally I layer 2 comforters when the ac is too cold 🤣🤣
@@kenzie9648 exactly what i do every night too😂
THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING me with relatable cold weather content! Everyone seems to only prepare for an LA winter :,)
I see a fellow Canadian? I subscribe ! I feel like every fall and winter clothing video on RUclips is like the one week of fall or spring in Canada! I’m glad I found someone who actually layers stuff and wears warm clothes!
I genuinely can't even fathom how cold -50 degrees is when my country's lowest recorded temperature ever was 1 degrees Celsius 😃
Not so bad actually. You can’t feel your face. In winter I always imagine myself as a dragon because breath out is really fun to watch😂
It’s so cold it feels like it’s burning lol but it ain’t that bad at all tbh if you are dressed right for the cold weather it doesn’t feel as half bad
This is the most realistic winter dressing I have ever seen and these outfits look amazing!! You've given me lots of inspiration :) thanks for sharing
It's been years and I actually come back to this video every-time I go somewhere cold
Me too 🙋♀️ years later I’ve now searched “winter layering Sweden” to find this video again. So glad the search worked even though she’s actually in Canada 😅
I’m in Canada and it gets freaking cold up here. I was super happy during quarantine last year bc I was wfh and literally didn’t leave my house. Now we’re back in the office and I’m dreading going to work this winter. Your video just gave me some inspo and motivation. Thanks for posting this!
I lived in Alaska for one year and I hear you when you say layer! It’s key to keeping you warm!!! Love your Teddy Bear Coat
I live in Tomsk, Siberia & all those looks are for fall & Spring .
Winter you can not wear an openCoat you will freeeeze to death , worse if you are a student you will be moving around , you can’t wear that in Winter
But l absolutely love the video , gonna use it for my fall outfits
true.
I'd love to experience the kinds of temperatures you do someday. I'm extremely good at handling cold temperatures and produce a lot of body heat. I've always wanted to experience extreme cold. I live in the northeastern US, and I'm comfortable in just a scarf and sleeveless dress in temperatures as cold as -20 Celsius and wear a light coat, hat, and gloves over that at -30. I've always wanted to experience -40 and colder.
I live in Michigan, right on Lake Michigan. I'm obsessed with cold and winter and snow. I absolutely HATE the heat!
I lived in mid West Canada for more than 20 years, and honestly I could not deal that weather again. You look way more fashionable than I ever did trying to stay warm! I live in Germany now and the winters are so short and mild in comparison!
Finally someome from cold place in Canada who understands the pain of dressing in winter weather! Thank you!
My husband comes from Finland and the coldest I experienced in Helsinki is -45C and honestly in that kind of cold guys the least you are concerned is your looks, you just want to feel warm that is what it is. But where I live in Geneva/Switzerland the weather can get very cold at times especially in the mountains and I find the canadian and finish brands much more practical and stylish for aggressive weather which unfortunately I can only find through online purchasing. Thank you for your tips, love your video.
When has it ever been -45C in Helsinki? I'm Finnish and I haven't ever experienced that kind of cold even though I live up north from Helsinki lol
I like to be warm most of the time. Long sleeve and a high- ish neckline help. I like your ideas. Thanks a lot. This is helpful.
You put together the cutest outfits for a capsule wardrobe, great colors, and accessories!
I moved to Norway three months ago from the UK and although it does get cold there it’s not anything like Scandinavia! Came here for some new layering tips! Thank you so much!
I am really happy, finally i found you girl.
This is such a useful mix n match for winter. I mean real cold winter.
Greetings from finland 🇫🇮
It is amazing how slim she looks even with that many layers. Love all the coats
Probably the BEST outfit ideas for the cold I've seen. And realistic because you didn't show a coat in every color which most of us don't have in the colder climates because it can get costly. I'm in MN!
Heard “coldest place on the Earth for 3 years in a row.” I thought to myself “Does this woman live in Edmonton?” Lol! And then you confirmed it! Great to find a content creator from my city.
Love this video of layering you made. My worry in really cold winter when dressed really warm which is definitely smart and much needed, I find myself too warm when going inside with heat on everywhere. I’d be sweating even after taking the big jacket off. This is my challenge😅
Thanks a lot! You're the first person Ive seen who's actually wearing proper winter clothes wjile being fashionable.
Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮
I’m so happy I found your page!! I live in Canada too and it’s not very common to find some good styling channels that are directed towards Canadians!!! 🍁💕
Finally winter outfits that I can wear past September
It's first video where I see winter clothes that are really for winter, not for autumn
Can’t even tell you how much I loved this video… from the part where you pull the sleeves of your thermal shirt over your wrists before putting on the next layer to each of your looks and sweet confessions about dealing with the cold … so relatable and very helpful ❤
I wish you were already here 10 years ago. I struggled with what to wear. Imagine me coming from Dubai to Toronto in the midst of winter, my goodness! I spent so much money before I learned to layer properly.
Im from a tropical country and I always have a hard time thinking how to look good and stay warm at the same time on winter holiday trips. Your video is simple and very informative. Thank you so much.
I live in Moscow....Really needed this video at this time of year...
I am a Canadian, but live in Victoria. The outdoor temperature today, December 5th, is 11 degrees Celsius. I dress like you showed starting in October and till April, at least. Only then I feel comfortable. I cannot imagine dressing that lightly in Edmonton! I would freeze to death.
Been searching for an actual Canadian winter layering video for THE longest time!!
You should keep searching then ... That'll never work .. I am from Quebec
Thank you, from Grand Rapids Michigan! 🙏💕✨So sick of people saying, “Get rid of your Uggs and hats if you’re over 40.” Crazy! They have no idea....🤣😂
Finally a proper winter video hi from the cold Finland!
I’m watching your video and thinking I would die in your neck of the woods. This is how I dress as soon as temperatures reach 5ºC. My winters can be up to -5ºC, the coldest I experienced was -20°C and I thought I was dying that very minute from the car to the front door. I used to wear long coats like yours while living in London, but they were uncomfortably heavy and not that warm. My life changed when I met my husband and he gifted me with a goose feather long jacket. Heaven! I’ve been wearing a fleece shirt over the thermal, a wool sweater , then the goose feather jacket. And my socks are all knee length and so are my boots, all lined, of course.
Finally someone from Alberta doing a winter wardrobe video... like... I legit wear thermals, too, especially because my main transportation is walking. I really love finding Albertan creators because I can actually relate - oh hey, I have been to Banff, miss that place, miss the mountains... the only think I have to say is that my winter boots are the most unattractive things as they are made for -40°C weather and walking.
Thank youuu!!! Living in Canada it gets soo cold, luckily where I am we only get to about -30 to -40 degrees C but it's so refreshing to find a video that is suited for the weather I get around here! Stay warm! 💖
Lowest temperature I've been in is 4°
This was a really helpful video! As a petite, I typically look like a puffy blueberry when I go out in the cold haha.
Same 😂
This is me. With my figure and sensitivity to the cold, I can't help but look like a ball everytime I go out.
SAME. I'm only 4'11 and everything is so huge and long on me. Finding coats that actually fit well is waaay harder than it sounds.
@@brileonn sameee im 4”11 as well and super sensitive to cold weather, it’s such a struggle to not look like an oompa loompa in winter layering 😫😫😫
😂😂😂😂 I hear you.. I feel like the Michelin woman (a trendy one I hope?!) 😅
I stayed with relatives in Brooks, Alberta for 2 months thru Feb/March and visited Edmonton. The main drawback of dressing for the weather was taking it all off again once you entered a home ! Then the southern wind blew warm weather in and you had to wear shorts, next day it was 3 feet of snow. Crazy weather. And I remember a bbq in deep snow at the time, we did eat inside though !
I'm kind of late to the party, but great video and great tips! It would be lovely to see also rainproof outfits. I live in the Netherlands and some materials are off-limits with rain (unfortunately umbrellas can't do the trick because of the wind)
:)
I perfectly understand your feelings, when you have to wear warm cloths 6 month in a raw. I live in Finland and it doesn't sound warmer:( you inspired me to look stylish even in such a disastrous weather
Cute outfits! When it’s -50 here which thank goodness only happens every couple years now when we get a polar vortex, I double layer pants, fleece, small insulated jacket with larger insulated jacket over top 😂 I’m not chic, but I am warm.
Looks beautiful. I need a parka that has a hood with the fur trim - it is a must for me. Keeps my neck and my head warm.
I love this video!!! I live in Iceland and the wind is making me crazy!! It would be nice to have the links for these items :)
Just created links now!! :)
@@AmbervScott would you mind linking the scarves and mittens you've gotton too? they're very cute!
I used to live in Alberta when I was younger and gosh was it FREEZING COLD in the winter times. Even with a one piece ski coat I was still freezing cold!
i live in saskatoon saskatchewan.
it gets super super cold here.
sometimes -50 and that's before you look at what it feels like
it soemtimes starts snowing in september, but usually beginning of october, lasting until may
I was soo thrown off when you said Edmonton is the coldest city in the world. I did not expect it, I was thinking maybe whitehorse or yellowknife. Hoping this year isn't bad! If you ever get tired of the cold weather, come to Calgary. We have bad winters too but the chinooks keep it warm time to time.
Watching this now to get ready for when it gets colder! Also feeling the sentiment that styling videos are usually people that live in warm places...so this is very helpful! Hi from Sask!! Also remember that one year when it was -67 for one day 0.0
I live in Scandinavia, and I can say I finally found a fashion video that really helps me dress for the weather. I recently started knitting a dress with double yarn. I'm hoping it will turn out cute. I've only just started to realise that you can actually look stylish in winter.
My jaw dropped because when you said "Coldest Place on Earth" I thought "Edmonton" LOL Hi from YEG
Where I currently live, it gets -10, not as cold as there but still cold. Lots of people wear thin vests underneath or larger vests over their jacket/coats. It really allows for more movement & warmth.
Hi! It is super beautiful and classy but I'm surprised your coats don't close completely/ zip all the way up, leaving exposed areas that must be freezing! Maybe you don't stay out too long so you don't need that?
That's what I'm wondering, I always see looks with open coats and I think it just looks so much more chic, but I'm scared of the cold getting in. Maybe the giant scarves stop it?
@@knightof_ni As a Belgian (nowhere near as cold as she gets, but it does freeze here on occasion) I can confirm big scarfs help a lot.
I imagine the base layer does a lot of the work for her too. She's not just relying on the outer coat.
REALLY LOVE YOUR HAIR💙
very helpful, especially about the thermal layers, i didn't know there was specific type of clothes to wear underneath (usually use random pieces which don't really warm below), thanks so much for this!
love your matching of clothes and kind sharing of ideas❤ very nice color and styles❤❤❤
She looks uber cool and i look like a polar bear with such layering
Thank you! Finally, something for people who live in Siberia
I'm Brazilian so this looks so unreal to me 😂😂 I'm already "freezing" AND COMPLAINING when we get to 10ºC lol I can't imagine living in Edmonton and looking that pretty and chic with that many clothes! I'd probably not get out of the house for those winter months 😬😂
😅 There's a reason why so many Canadians are in the comments here. It's a yearly challenge to feel warm *and* attractive in the winter here. I can't imagine how much more it must suck in places like Alaska. Girl here is posing with her jackets open, which looks good with the aesthetic she's going for. But she wasn't posing with her coats buttoned or zipped up. Also buttons suck for the strong, cold winds...same with loose-fitting jackets. Wind gets right up in there through any open space. If a person is just walking from a building to their car, it's not a big deal. If you have to walk or will be spending some time outside, you want outdoor gear that keeps the freezing winds out. Winter sucks.
Yakutsk na Sibéria é pior do que a cidade onde ela mora.
@@crisneryfisher5452 suponho q sim haha eu hein, ainda bem q moro num país tropical abençoado por Deus e bonito por natureza haha
10 degrees Celsius for me is a nice spring or fall day. Sleeveless dress weather.
I’m a Florida girl going to Detroit in February and this was so helpful for me, thank you
you are gorgeous and so hilarious! Love your channel! thank you so much for the tips! I am living in the UK now ... but I still find it unbearably cold XD I would be layering like this at 3-5 degree celsius haha. I really dunno what I would do at minus 50.
I live in Nur-Sultan and the temperature falls below -40 here, too. Sometimes I think of buying a balaclava, and my friend once wore ski pants in the city. It gets to me, as I want to be able to walk every day for at least 1hour, and look presentable at the same time. I haven't figured out how to do it. In winters, I wear a woolen hat and a thick zipped fleece hoodie over whatever I am wearing to the office. I put the hood over my hat, as one layer won't protect me from the frost. Then I put on a tube scarf up to my eyes to protect my face. And then I put on a long down jacket. I also wear thermal underwear, fleece pants and lightweight hiking boots.
Love this video! I always feel so ugly in the winter trying to dress warm. Thanks for the tips! 😊
I lived in Saskatchewan for 11 years and in Edmonton for 5 months. Your tips are on point!❤️
I live in the southern part of the US... why am I watching this? 😂 Flawless style! ❤️

I dk why this just appeared on my feed but this video gave me so much nostalgia and good memories of when i was on an exchange in Edmonton. I remember wrapping up like a dumpling cause i was from a country that's summer all year long. I love this!
Trudging to school on the -50 days here in SK was so awful, everybody else's parents gave their kids a ride but my parents gave zero fucks 😭

I know I’m late but I died laughing when you said you lived in Edmonton, I lived there for 10 years and I’m so happy I left that place for Toronto 2 years ago 😂😂😂 it’s freezing over there !! And yes 9 months of winter facts 🥶🥶
Beautiful outfits for extreme cold weather and great tips on layering. Love your honest approach and cheerful personality. Thank you and keep warm 🙏🏻💕☕
Thank you for actually dressing warm 😂
I have cold feet in summer too, I know the struggles in winter!
Bought wool socks and wool slippers for home, that saves my feet, I don't live in such harsh climate but for me pure wool saves me from the cold and from stinking. Had some thermal stuff but I smell so bad with it.
I was thinking well I need some tips for Edmonton so I'll take a look, I guess she lives in Alaska or something.. Then I see Edmonton. haha!!
So I’m watching this after two years as I just discovered you. However, they’re still relevant and in style most of the things you wore. Love your videos and have been watching most of your videos over the past few days. I can’t wait till you start making more new videos. Love from UK xoxo

What are your favourite thermal brands?
Hi! Where is your beanie in look 1 and 4 from?
Where is the scarf from look 3 from?
I always wear coat in autumn, because it doesn't really keep me that warm. Can't imagine wearing it in the winter. I use a really warm and thick jacket. They have nice ones in uniqlo for example.
And here I come from LA wearing all of this when it reaches below 60. We don’t know real cold over here but we act like we do 😂

Stay warm lol!!
I live in a super tropical climate and I still watched this and took notes lol
hey:) so good you talked about thermal clothes. I feel like people don't talk about them too much in winter fashion videos.
do you have any advise on what to wear on a windy cold day? I live in Poland (Europe) and we have the coldest wind in winter time... and I feel like whatever I put on is not enough...
Depending on your hair, i always go for toques (beanies) whenever it’s windy and cold. Sometimes nothing can really warm you when there’s an ice cold wind! I feel your pain! I’d say other than wearing thermals underneath, make sure you invest in a really warm knee length parka!
earmuffs or winter headbands can prevent your ears from getting cold and getting a headache from it
You could get a snowboarder pants or a fur coat at the thrift store maybe? Make sure your jacket has a hard water,/wind resistant shell. I got mine from the boys section at winners. $70 :P warmer than my $400 down knees length coat! Which I sometimes pair with an oversized wool or trench coat now for wind resistance. Looks cute too! The boots are important, wool or fur lining or fleece. Thick sole. Sorel, cougar, sperry are mine. Thrifted.
@@rainbowbgood come on, no fur! Even not from a thrift store!
