Not only that but they’re not even attractive. The old Edith Head gowns were works of art. I can’t understand why the red carpet women don’t aspire to wear beautiful dresses styled like her creations.
Yes! Chances are the children will speak up to say the same sentiment. So many of them would be uncomfortable and voice it their feelings, not to put others down, just speaking their truth. Just as children today make a statement by not driving a vehicle. They will be the first to call Uber and/or Lyft. This has been 1 of my wishes for the new generation. A definite breath of fresh air❤
What? This advice has only been around forever already. This absolutely nothing new. It's too funny to see each 'young generation' think they have discovered something - something that Cleopatra knew waaayyyy back in her day, lol. Wut, you don't know who Cleopatra .... ?
I think people have a low opinion of themselves and compensate with branded clothing and accessories. It has now made them aligned with celebrity worship.
In Style choices, class, for Fashion Design degree, we were taught that shiny fabrics reflect light, & make things appear larger. So never wear shiny fabric on wide hips, or heavy thighs.
Posture. Ill posture warps clothing lines, strips away confidence, and reduces class. Stand tall, walk with equal strides, head held high, and smile at ready.
Why mention the 80s with regard to makeup. Today's contouring and overly made up eyes are far more over the top than the occasional 80s colorful makeup. If you bother to research 1980s fashion and makeup, you'll see there was a lot of natural and tasteful makeup looks.
I agree there were natural and elegant looks in the '80s! The mention was to highlight the era’s boldness, but your point about today’s trends is very valid. 💄✨
Linen is supposed to be worn wrinkled. Not deliberately wrinkled: but wrinkled as it does when worn throughout your day- the fabric softens with wear too and it looks naturally beautiful: as its meant to look.
High class, middle class ,low class who cares it's what s in y our heart that counts .😊this world is obsessed with looks and money . A stunning person can look amazing in t orn jeans and a torn jacket but at 're end of the day beauty comes from the heart.😊
I'd say the biggest issue with make-up is having healthy skin first. It is really great to be minimalist with make-up when you have very clear skin. But, if you have acne or blotchy skin, there is a need to cake on the foundation to cover it up. Then one will put on more blush and eye make-up to counter the thick foundation. So, working on the health of the skin first is very important.
Why deprive yourself of so much in life with rules rules rules. Break the rules (you might as well turn Amish), create your very own style. Have fun. Eff other people. Your own style will always be the one that looks best on you. One of my reasons to get up in the morning, even when pretty depressed, us to put fun and interesting outfits together. I would be so bored being so obedient
I enjoyed this video because it shared the focus on elegance, impeccability, subtlety ... aspects that ladies can understand and address. I'm headed to my closet right now to rid myself of bright printed shirts that are not classy. Thank you for sharing these tips with us.
Clothing isn’t the only thing that shows “inelegance.” At a swearing-in ceremony for the Senate the other day the husband of the new Senator was such a social clod that he intentionally refused to shake the hand of VP Harris who had just honored his wife. His action dishonored his wife and the region of the US that they are from.
His right hand was holding his cane that was holding him up. The VP knew that. "Inelegance" is the clod of a "journalist" who spread this misinformation knowing full well what he was doing.
Actually, the gentleman in question was holding a Bible in one hand, and a CANE in the other! He was clearly trying not to topple over. Look at the clip again, you'll see the mistake.
@@kjean4662 The video also shows his wife taking the Bible to free his hand in time to extend it to shake the VP's hand. Also compare this video with the same situation when the same ceremony was conducted by then VP Mike Pence, and a previous video where then VP Joe Biden officiated. The husband' demeanour was noticeably similar on both occasions and he was quite happy to handshake then socially interact with both those VPs. Quite a contrast in his facial expression, postural attitude and behaviour this time around.
True, Yuja Wang is a great example of how simple outfits can make a strong impact. She blends sophistication with functionality! 🎹✨

@@LucrativeElegance Correct. The miniskirts and minidresses that barely cover the bottom are very functional, so that she has to pull them down when she gets up from the piano bench so that the skirt just covers her bottom when she bows. Very elegant!

Over doing it, especially as you age. Age should not deter or spoil your elegance it's just knowing and choosing the right attire for you and the occasion. 👍
It is really good to see Americans ditch grunge fashion and return to basic wear, suit and heels in the office, and comfortable clean clothes for casual. I absolutely hated their ripped jeans trend. It's 2025, if you aren't prioritising personal health and taking on all those new materials for comfort, you seriously have no reason to be setting trends. It is amazing that more people vex about VPL, than they do about properly fitted cotton undies. But what do we do about the abundance of low quality polyester in all the online stores. Arghhh... there must be better quality polyester out there that everyone can easily afford. Well, at least we have seen the end of celebrity make up and fashion brands and that should put more personal pride back in the world.
Agreed! It's great to see a return to functional elegance and quality pieces. Cheap polyester is a challenge, but investing in better fabrics makes all the difference. And the end of celebrity hype might bring more authenticity! 👌✨
Good vedio but nothing new. Have been told so many times. Also one must dress according to climate, occasion, and culture. People in the US, EU, ASIA and africa dress differently for these reasons
You seem to be American? As most North Europeans, I prefer to travel practial in clothing on a totally different level then I see many americans traveling i Europe do. It seems very unpractial and 'outer appearance focused'. What is balancing elegance and practicallity - very personal and dependent from where you come from and way you define your value and the way you invite others to see themselves. I am very far from you here, and I know I am not alone. - Lot's of money in the bank or not. We don't have anybody taking care of our things, service us when traveling, but want to travel light - mainly ultra light having very comfortable clothes on like the ones you find in 'upper' brands trekking stores. CEOs carry jeans on top company meatings in Northern Europe. East Europeans wanting to show that they are wealthy, dress in the way you recommend - very unpractical on journeys Big fancy hand bags, filling not only the floor infront of your own seat on the plane, but also speading over to the nabour.
Personally I don't like scary talon like nails covered in colors. I love to look at the beautiful work on long nails but since I keep my nails semi short, I love it when I get a manicure and they look so nice. I think a lot of women think having long painted nails means it doesn't matter what the rest of you looks like and that's just not true, they stand out like a sore thumb as my mom use to say.😅
I subscribe to everything you said, but unfortunately the facial expressions of the women you show do not match. They all excessively strive to please and have a charming appearance - the opposite of class
The problem is that tattoos are in direct opposition to elegance. Elegance is simplicity, avoidance of attention-seeking. Tattoos are the definition of attention seeking.
So many “Hollywood outfits” on the red carpet are absolutely vulgar. I find it disgusting. Sets a very poor example for our youth.
I agree, elegance is often overlooked. We need more style icons to inspire future generations. 💖
Not only that but they’re not even attractive. The old Edith Head gowns were works of art. I can’t understand why the red carpet women don’t aspire to wear beautiful dresses styled like her creations.
You can say that again👋

My son once said when he was a teenager...why do I want to wear clothes with someone else's name on them. He is wise beyond his years.
Yeah, why advertise for free lol…….
Tattoos, bat eyelashes, puffy extreme lips needs covered now days!!!
Sadly 99% of people who really need to watch this probably won't see it! Less is more and society today unfortunately seems to value vulgarity more
I agree, the "less is more" message is so powerful, yet many don't embrace it. Let’s keep spreading elegance and authenticity! 🌟💖
@LadyVR7 Actually, they aim for something obviously fake. Those painted on laminated eyebrows, fake hair (weft extensions), clown lips.
Thankyou, finally someone gets it. People who follow trends or hollywood stars will always look cheap.
I agree, personal style is about authenticity, not copying trends. True elegance is timeless and unique. ✨

I absolutely hate the torn and ripped jeans! They look tacky no matter how wealthy someone may be!
Another word for this is minimalism. It's very much a digest of Coco Chanel's philosophy.
So true. Not many young women learn these guidelines anymore.
So true! It's so important to bring these values back and share them with younger generations. 💕
i do love linen, which wrinkles, in the summer and wear it all the time and don't consider it a style mistake
Linen is a classic! Wrinkles add charm and authenticity to the look. In summer, it’s comfort with style. 🫶✨
Linen is supposed to be worn wrinkled. Not deliberately wrinkled: but wrinkled as it does when worn throughout your day- the fabric softens with wear too and it looks naturally beautiful: as its meant to look.

Totally agree! True beauty comes from within. What truly matters is character and kindness, not looks or status. ❤️
Hollywood stars and music artists usually scream the tackiest (sometimes most vulgar) looks!
