Love my '92 G30 Viking conversion with fiberglass high-top. Swapped in a rebuilt 1973 350 with RV cam & headers, rebuilt 700r4 with 9 clutch plates & shift kit. Came with those same type of aluminum wheels , and I get close to 20 mpg on the highway. The brakes and suspension on these vans are super durable!

That vinyl print wood is awesome. Much better than GM's own imitation wood grain.

Like your van! I have 87 GMC G20 and have gutted it also to prepare for camper conversion. I am a bit older at 75 but hope to get to it soon. I have moved the center chairs upfront for the swivel, saving the rear bench for bed and have purchased fridge, cooktop, and two water tanks for storage so far. Your van is great. I will have to clear out some of the old wiring as it was a custom with lights, TV hookup, and other amenities. Will check back on your further posts to see how it is progressing.

Your van is awesome!! I love the couch/bed. I have an older very similar van that I put a fixed bed in the back like so many people do. But seeing the room you have with your couch like it is makes me want to redo

This is real van life right here man. It's not about living in it full time or alternating living instead of an apartment. It's just driving a custom van when everybody wants to drive something else. Appreciating a custom van and then whipping it.

Good for you. I have a 1990 G20 with a 2' tall top, three way frig, stove top, sink, heater, water closet etc.... that I put a new jasper motor and transmission ... Camed 4 bolt main motor. Still working on it... lots to do but think it is great.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...so it doesn't matter what others think about it. Its your van, so as long as you like it and find it beautiful, thats all it matters 🙏😊

There is a great section on different wood and what to use for what kind of job and a similar section for tools as well. The projects in it are things you probably would have a go at with clear instructions, pictures, videos and diagrams throughout. Great for a beginner/amateur wood worker.

I had a 90 model Chevy conversion van. I loved it I camped in it a lot. And I lived in it for a couple of years. Unfortunately I didn't have the funds to really do anything with it at the time. The transmission went out and I sold it.

I just don't have the money for the newer cargo vans ( which I noticed are becoming more a thing and costly) but I figure I could start off with a older van and just go from there. Nice van layout. Your LED conversion is probably blinding every oncoming vehicle you pass. Those are directional lights and require a lens swap. Sucks for others. Other than that, much nicer than what I did with my e150.
My worst mod, Hellwig 990 helper springs. They added an inch at the hitch, but squeaked like a son of a gun at speed over the smallest bump.
This is a very classic camper.
You will never see a camper like this in Korea.
I haven’t seen anything like this. It’s seriously so cool and has a cabin feel inside that to me is so calming. This really is very special. Well done and Happy Travels. Oh and did I hear you say that you used rock salt to keep mice out of the van? If so PLEASE share how you do that. I’ve tried so many things that don’t work and I really don’t want poisonous chemicals around my kids or pets.
I think he said "Roxul" which is an insulation product (flame resistant/rot resistant) made by Rockwool instead of "rock salt".
