I graduated hs in 1996, i bought my first car my junior year and it was a 66k mile 1983 chevy G20 conversion van. It spent its entire life in the southwest so not a spot of rust. Blue shag carpet, the whole early 80’s kitten caboodle. I have so many good memories with that thing and I really need to keep my eyes open for another one one of these days. I want to do a modern drivetrain 4x4 conversion van now.

12:41 The 2nd row of seats may fold forward flat. It'll give you the room to lie flat on each side (you may have to take the headrests off). If you don't put them all the way down, they can be lounge chairs looking out the back door. I'm so excited for your future adventures.
    Congratulations!!!

Congrats!!! My old '96 Dodge conversion has the wing windows & drivers side floor vent. Paid 22k for it, new in '96. It now sits, hasn't been ran in a few years now.
I currently drive & camp in a '98 Ford Econoline van. It's hitting 200k miles & still running strong! It's not a conversion, but it is set up for camping. It could easily be used for fulltime van life.
Enjoy your-new-to you sweet ride!! It's very clean!
Oh & I cannot use my console cup holders either. I bought a thing that I put on the floor, between the front seats, from Wal-Mart that can hold 2 drink containers & other things.

Holy shit that's one of the absolute cleanest 95 model vehicles I've ever seen. I'm from TN so you don't deal with much snow so the vehicle doesn't deal with salted roads. It would've been released in September of 1994 so it's almost 29 years old. Despite only 165 hp/230 torque those 4.3 vortec Chevy V6 motors are tough. It's not like you would be speeding anywhere regardless. I'd like to see a video before any conversion. I love it but I'm only 5'9" and would fit perfect in the back like it is.

Hey I'm new to your channel but in 2003 my dad bought my mom a voluntary bank repossession 1997 Chevy Suburban k2500 LT 454 it was a customer built truck with 125,000 miles he got it for 12,000$ because the bank listed it as a 350 vortec not the 454 vortec. The window sticker when new was $45,000 that would be close to $86,000 in 2023 but the lady who bought it new had it fully loaded and a custom paint job and body kit by a conversion company that conversion was probably around $10,000 to $15,000, she bought it and custom order it to haul her horse trailers and horses to county fairs but she lost her job and decided to just volunteer to surrender the truck back to the bank. It currently has 285,000 miles and had the 4l80E NP243 14 bolt G80 F/R and the L29 454 had its valve covers and break booster done
    Runs good

I have a 2002 gmc 3500 Savana 5.7 cargo base van. Love it. Gm is pretty bad quality when it comes to body, plastic, interior and wiring. But the other parts of it are pretty solid. When I bought my van I remember that I could NOT find financing for a used conversion van. But for a cargo van I could. That was in 2007. I wish I had factory ride height gm four wheel drive. No lift kit. Not big tires. But 4x4 hi and low and 2 wheel drive. Gets stuck pretty easily and spins when backing a trailer. The beautiful of gm is it's a little cheaper to repair than ford. But the ford is a little more solid, tighter body quality, beefier and better torque. I'd guess ford is 20% more expensive for parts. In 2002, what sold me on the gm van was the swing away back doors. Ford standard didn't have that.,,had to be custom option. This van in your video is nostalgic and beautiful! 👏🏼 I had a 1989 like this. Loved it. I'm 6,3 and one thing I didn't like was tire inner fender in floorboard forced my feet to be sandwiched over toward gas pedal causing back pain. The 4.3 is a good engine.

Oh man, we had a 1993 G20 growing up and looking back it sure was awesome for the time. VCR, Original Nintendo with duck hunter, fold down bed.....

Wow great looking G20. We used to go crazy over these vans in the past especially when it came to two way radio and audio setups with amps.
Definitely spray the under side to protect it. Can't wait to see what you do with it and some great adventures. Thanks for sharing.

We had a Chevy conversion van when I was a kid. Wish I still had it.

You should undercoat the whole underneath while the weather is nice way before winter so it doesn’t start to rust out because if you don’t it will rust out, Chevy’s are known for rusting out.

You got lucky, Mike! You just don't find vehicles like this anymore. I think it is sharp, with the white letter tires & the pin striping. Somebody took special care of this vehicle and I bet it is up to date on every required maintenance also! I am so relieved to know the truck is staying put. Can't wait to see How you make the van your own!

Mark 3 went out of biz years ago. They were built-in Ocala, Florida. The Chevy dealer, I worked at sold them. I spent 2 days there watching how they were built so I could be certified to work on them.

Pull out the front seats and take off the rubber floor, and you will see floor rust for sure all around the doghouse, it does it in every van, Ford dodge and Chevy, little bit of sheet metal and your good to go, also look at the body mounts!! Nice score my friend!!
Ditch your pickup and go wild!❤❤
