How To Clean A VW 2.0 FSI Throttle Body | VW Golf/Jetta Mk5

- Hi guys, on this video I'm making an attempt to clean a throttle body on my VW Jetta Mk5 2.0 FSI with a BVZ (Non-turbo) engine. This engine is really a great one as well but over time the throttle body can get clogged with carbon deposits and causes a bit of stuggering. Which is one of the reasons I decided to clean it.
My videos are more detailed hence they are a bit longer at times, this is to show in every way how I did whatever I do so that following the steps shown can leave you with the exact results as shown in the video.

Many thanks, from me to you!!!.
Awesome video, i got the same engine, i’m not a mechanic but you just should me how easy it easy to do stuff yourself and save same rands 😊😊😊😊 thanks bra
Thanks a lot bro, I'm glad you found the video helpful. Lol saving money is a must, another thing is that you are sure that you'll do things with care unlike these mechanics who just want your money and don't care about your car.
We must save money, it's December now bra eiy 🤣😂🤣
Professional bro!
I’m planning to clean mine as well
I Had the same car 😅 BVY
I heard that after the cleaning procedure the throttle body should be remap
How did you managed to do it?
Love your videos and knowledge sharing
Thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks a lot man I appreciate it, these BV- engines have been good for me so far.
The re-calibration of the throttle body is not necessary if you can get someone to step on the throttle when they key is on the ON position and it will open so you can clean it nicely.
Re-calibration is only necessary if it is new or if you pushed it with your hands rather than opening it with the throttle pedal.
@@MegatronicsZA thanks man appreciate that a lot.
This engines serve me as well too I’m happy with the car, we always love to enjoy from our own fix’s and refreshing thing is the engine.
Thanx to BVY community you build here 🤍
I will update as well things that I will do with my mk5 BVY 2.0 non turbo
@@razieltac5365 it's a pleasure bro. I hope you keep taking care of it. The fact that they have no turbo for me makes it more reliable.
@@MegatronicsZA with knowledge and help from the professional it’s possible to take care of it
@@razieltac5365 yep, take care of it and it will take care of you.
When you start the car you have a 'EPC' light on the dashboard. Isen't that light because the throttle body is dirty?
Great video! 🙂
When the car is on the EPC light is supposed to be there, and it was. Only when you start the car and the car is running it's supposed to go off, and it did.
I recently cleaned up the throttle body 3 months ago, here's that video here: ruclips.net/video/cMEtsswCAjY/видео.html
How did you open the throttle body? Did you have to push the pedal or anything else besides providing power?
I don’t want to force it open by hand but rather let it open electronically! Thanks!
I turned the car on, then asked my wife to step on the accelerator pedal then it opened.
Please get someone to help you, don't dare push it by hand.
Is it necessary to disconnect the battery terminal before you clean the throttle body? Does it improve the gas mileage after you cleaned the throttle body?
No it is not necessary, because when you disconnect the battery you won't be able to open the throttle body and clean it because there won't be power on the car. Unless you want to forcefully push it with your hand
I have this EXACT same car and I’m struggling to find the pvc valve. Can you tell me where that is located. Thank you so much
The pcv valve is integrated with the intake manifold, it is the round thing that has a pipe going into it. It's on the right side, just before coil number 4.
Hey,will i be able run a CAI on these motors or should i just get a GTI?lol
@@BroniB4 Lols what's a CAI?
@@MegatronicsZA a cold air induction
I have a question, where in this engine is the mass airflow sensor.
This doesn't use a MAF but a MAP
@@MegatronicsZA oh oke thankyou for fast answering.
