Hello Maggie, may I ask how to say something belongs to someone's friend, eg. Tony's brother wedding or Tony brother's wedding or Tony's brother's wedding? Thanks
@3:31 I can appreciate why elementary school or even early-secondary teacher would give this rule to make things simplier to my young mind. Unfortunately, i was not taught the real world usage at the right time later. I found out the hard way!
As a manager, I'd be asking folks like "could you help me do something?". The tone sounds more polite and more respectful. If you try asking your team members doing thing like "can you get this done?", team members would consider this as a commander style communication with little respect and somewhat impolite.
A video about differences between "could" and "would" is appreciated! I believe using "would" is a more polite way to ask someone to do something for you?
By the way, in Canada, we normally go to the "washroom", not restroom or toilet. One funny thing is that I went to the Sleep Inn in Buffalo, NY and the signage said, "Washrooms", which is indicative of the overwhelmingly huge number of Canadian customers they had at that time. Yes, some (and probably most but I haven't done a formal survey on this) English teachers in HK make mistakes all the time, like the word "water" is only written in singular form, H is pronounced as "Egg-ch", "shall" is used widely in normal conversation ....In this day and age, they should at least educate themselves better by listening to proper pronunciations on RUclips or by any AI bot more often to correct their mistakes.
@@kimduong2332 Yes, that's why English teachers in HK should make a note of this, as in "international waters". There are numerous other mistakes that can't be summarized in a few words about what English teachers in HK make all the time.
其中一個分別: can表示能力; may表示准許. 例: 小朋友想吃雪糕, 媽媽: You can, but you may not (你有吃ice cream的能力, 但不准哦). 另一分别: when asking for permission, may比can更有禮. For example, on the phone: can I speak to ...? (OK). May I speak to...? (more polite). 問是誰人打電話來, May I know who's calling?
It could be better if you could use different sentence to demonstrate your summary at the end. People need to get familiar with the sentences in English.
Your skin issue still persists. I have one Chinese medicine that I want to share with you but don't know how to PM you. It worked with my skin issue very effectively about 28 years ago.

1. Could 同 Would 又有咩唔同?點樣用先啱?
2. 可以講多啲啲咩嘢情況下,一句句子內可以用多過一個Tense?
感謝!
Thank you ~ 長知識
多謝你的channel.
好清楚呀,老師👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

謝謝老師🌹
Great show
Many thanks
You are the best of the best👍
I like your video. Usually I can use ‘can’ and ‘could’ correctly, but I just don’t know why. You explained the usage and the concept clearly. Thanks 😊
Thank you for your sharing.
Well done , Maggie.
💪💪💪
🙏🏻多謝Maggie老師咁詳細嘅解釋,以前讀中小學時,老師都係咁樣教. 你咁樣講解清楚好多. 繼續支持你的Channel . Thank you.
多謝 Maggie老師!
Hello Maggie, may I ask how to say something belongs to someone's friend, eg. Tony's brother wedding or Tony brother's wedding or Tony's brother's wedding? Thanks
Thank you very much for your videos 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
解釋得好清楚,thanks!
多謝!
Thanks for your support!
講解得好清晰吖
謝謝 miss !
Thank you. Honestly, I really like this video more than those you acted as weird characters !!! 😄
Great work Maggie老師。
不過都喺講得多都會自動波,例如:
"How could you do that?"
@3:31 I can appreciate why elementary school or even early-secondary teacher would give this rule to make things simplier to my young mind. Unfortunately, i was not taught the real world usage at the right time later. I found out the hard way!
很有用 之前只知禮貌或過去與否 thx❤
Thanks ❤

可不可以把 "He said he could do it." 解读为 他讲他当时可能可以做到? 谢谢!
可否講解一下, Can & Can’t 發音,因為聽英美人士讀這兩個音時我都分唔清喔!,thanks!
It’s easy to learn English from this kind of video, appreciated 😊
What's the difference between Would you ..
and Could you... then?
Thanks Maggie 🫶
请问some time and sometime 分别。some day and someday 分别?Thank you
That’s what I wanted to know. Thank you.
Thanks!
Thanks, Moses!
如果可以解釋埋will and would就好啦
好啊~

勁勁勁 爱妳哟 😚😚😚老师✍️✍️✍️✍️👍😘
可以的話就講下關於aviation 嘅英文🙇🏻♂️ 同埋覺得motherese對Jamie嘅language acquisition 有冇幫助,你哋通常同佢講BB話定係平常句子
Maggie老師,請問有英文班嗎?
When can I use who,whom,whose?🙏
Can you tell us about that🙏🙏
Btw good video
British English vs American English. Can u do it for me?
以前,讀中小學時,些英文老師,真係這樣與學生講,真係咁樣教。🤔😂☹ 同一句子裡,不能存在兩種tenses。Simple present 就整句前後都是simple present. 如果是simple past, 全句都要是simple past. 🤷♂️😢☹
原來唔止我係咁 😲
@@EnglishwithMaggieSame here 😂
我都係咁教
係呀, 我唔知依家會唔會教得正確, 但以前啲英文老師教錯晒, 連發音都教錯。 所以我後來到美國升學後才如夢初醒, 要一點時間糾正。
可以教一下 can 同 Can’t 這兩者發音的分別,來到美國,大部份人都不會說can not ,而是説can’t , 聽落有時我都好難分別究竟是can 定can’t 😂😂😂
Helpful, tks
希望有一集講解 will 同 would 。🙏
Well done 👍
提議一下: 整個陪讀故事書系列,幫一d成日因查字典睇書嘅小朋友🙏🏻
ขอบคุณครับ 🙏
thank you
正!
Thx

"water" can be in plural form if it be used for "area of water".

😅多謝!
Thank you, Bill!
Love it
但一般正常對話,好少用Could,用Could就好似好刻意製造距離感?
不過可能對嘅年齡層係比較年長啲,有時就會用到?
好似
Can you help me please?
同
Could you help me please?
下邊句子好似好有禮貌咁,但係都要視乎講嘅語氣😂
Could i could i現在都習慣了,can 而比較小用了,
求教
Could you please xxxxxx?
同
Would you please xxxxxx?
又有咩分別?
🙏🙏🙏
其實兩句都差唔多意思~但如果真係分得咁仔細,咁would 喺呢個問題會比較偏向問對方嘅意願,could 就偏向能力方面~
加埋妳嘅演技,清楚曬!😂😂😂
Can and could in the family. Could friends and work mates.
can表达自己能力,唔使求人,could系求人求己!就感简单!
妳可否提供多一些一句內含有兩種時態的例子?因為以前學英文時被告知不可以這様,否則會違反sequence of tense。
Thanks Maggie
d表情好好笑😂
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
May I and can I有咩分別?
差唔多
其中一個分別: can表示能力; may表示准許. 例: 小朋友想吃雪糕, 媽媽: You can, but you may not (你有吃ice cream的能力, 但不准哦).
另一分别: when asking for permission, may比can更有禮. For example, on the phone: can I speak to ...? (OK). May I speak to...? (more polite). 問是誰人打電話來, May I know who's calling?
Uncertainty 時點解吾用might 而要用could?
香港讀書時missy 話would you please 比could you please 更有禮貌,而家諗番唔知真定假
其實兩句都有可以啊~如果真係分得咁仔細,咁would 喺呢個問題會比較偏向問對方嘅意願,could 就偏向能力方面~
😂😂Nice video
在外國餐廳點餐,聽到d中國人說 “Can I have a .....?” 真是太普遍了,禮貌上應該說成 "Could I have a .....?"
似乎整體用could>can 會好啲 😅
"Can you do it?" 是 indicative mood; "Could you do it?" 是 subjunctive mood.
”I could do that.“ 係咪都可以解做“我願意去做”?
He said he could do it 呢句我即時嘅理解係“佢話佢願意做某樣野”
It could be better if you could use different sentence to demonstrate your summary at the end. People need to get familiar with the sentences in English.
"If you could...." means" you can not.....".
5:41 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
How about reported speech? He said blah blah blah ( past tense) he said he could ……
Damn good
4:49 "He said he can do it." If he said that 10 years ago, does that mean he knew he can still do it 10 years later?
咁will 同 would 係咪差唔多
Will 好似比can 更加肯定
Would 比could 更有禮貌😂?
we llove
Your skin issue still persists. I have one Chinese medicine that I want to share with you but don't know how to PM you. It worked with my skin issue very effectively about 28 years ago.
淨係 could, can 都玩死好多人,聽完劉家傑,仲更加一頭煙😂

I very like look at u
我嘅某學校老師淨係話用Can問冇禮貌
所以用Could問
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡😊
👏👍💪🤩😄😆😂🤣
Thanks Maggie,👍👍🙏🙏🙏
學英文最麻煩就係尼種,看似是一個字或一種用法,但當中有唔同變化,你唔識又無人教你,錯左又唔知點解,以前係學校都無你解釋得甘好,一路唔識就一路差,學習本是快樂事,但無一個真係識的人用好的方法教你只會越走越遠🥲
之前夜校阿sir話上到大學才可學到更多英文喎!
