Puscifer's Legendary Appearance on Mr. Show | David Cross x Maynard James Keenan Look Back

- In 1995, a then-fictional band called Puscifer, featuring TOOL singer Maynard James Keenan, appeared on episode one of 'Mr. Show,' the cult-classic HBO sketch comedy series starring Bob Odenkirk and David Cross. Over 25 years later, both Cross and Puscifer (now a full-fledged art-rock troupe) are going strong - so REVOLVER had to reunite them. In this excerpt from Cross and Keenan's weird, insightful and hilarious convo, they look back on their early days in L.A., that infamous 'Mr. Show' sketch and Puscifer's origin story, as well as discussing how the culture has changed since, especially in regards to comedy.

The first live wrestling event I ever saw was at a Puscifer concert. Also, my first time seeing a lady get Handled by some Chip and Dale strippers. Best 4/20 ever.

Puscifer has come so far. Wasnt crazy about their earlier stuff, but Money Shot and Existential Reckoning are fantastic.

Refreshing to hear his stance on picking sides. My thing is, if there were no big arguments or debates, what would the focus of life be? Once food and shelter and transportation and education are locked in, all we are left with is art, adventure, innovation, refining, and a very healthy wellbeing and environment.

None of this matters Maynard is legitimately the greatest vocalist of all time and no one else matters at the point I hope somebody else can get involved in this conversation but right now Maynard's only one
Maynard is the greatest lyricist of all time, yeah probably. Im a massive maynard fan. All his bands, but if we’re just going off vocal talent, not lyrics, then I just don’t know about that. Mikael Akerfeldt ? Are you talking about just singers? Cause even then, you are saying OF ALL TIME. Layne Staley? Maynard knew layne and I’m pretty sure even Maynard would tell you that Layne probably had more range. Nobodies lyrics have ever changed the way I thought like Maynard’s though, that doesn’t have anything to do with his vocal abilities though. I think Maynard is on the list of greatest vocalists and high up on it though either way
