That's definitely something I would consider! There are a number of logo designers I have been in touch with directly who I imagine would be willing to participate -- but I'll need to figure out how to approach a sort of interview format first. For the time being, I can recommend my video "One Thousand Metal Logo Timelapse" has some process commentary / voiceover. Will be doing more of this in the future as well!
you should also start a series of deciphering wildstyle graffiti, wildstyle graffiti is very similar to band logos with really distorted letter structures and random extentions. even upon knowing the name, deciphering the wildstyle is practically impossible
i couldnt figure out the first word but i could clearly see .R.M..VE RAGE. A few decades in the graffiti game expands your idea of what a letter can be. That R in primitive is reminiscent of an R popularized in socal. That one is a little more extreme but its pretty close to that form. That logo is pretty bad to say it mildly haha.
@@return2sender791 had to go and check whether the designer himself was from socal - and he's not. But I do wonder what kind of influence the two art forms have on each other! Would be great if I could find a place to practice graffiti... legally 😅
you say there are letters there and you know what? ill just take your word for it. its how i imagine reading tea leaves or intestines while shit faced on toilet wine and acid would look.
broo i swear, when you said this band is from missouri, i instantly saw it. im only 3 minutes in but i think this is primitive rage? i will come edit this comment to see how close i was lol edit: holyyy shitttt i met this band 2 months ago, they are sick
/ˈɡaʊs.i.ən/ is correct, actually! I don't know why so many people pronounce it like "goshin' " or some such but it's named after Carl Gauss, a German mathematician. It's just Gauss + -ian.
@@17thstellation I always pronounce it like "goshin" in my head because of my insensitive American brain and I need to forcibly correct myself any time I verbalize it hahaha
BTW you should do a vid with one of the designers and see their process to how they get to the final product

It's better that way. Don't go through the pain of trying to figure it out yourself 😆

Super entertaining video! Checked out the band and they actually slap, fans of Plebeian Grandstand, Full of Hell and END will dig their stuff.
Love these vids! I’m a graphic designer too!
As always, happy to hear that these videos appeal to more than just metalheads 😄
This looks like a milipide nest
I see the word RAGE at the bottom
Edit: you saw it too lol
you should do the xasthur logo
Why? The name xasthur isn't in the logo, he got the idea for the logo when he was high
What does it say
Primitive Rage
Letters were never meant to be read anyway.
Why can’t these guys just
Use regular fucking fonts
Cause thats boring as fuck
"why is your logo a scribble"
"we thought it looked cool"
