I worked at a cd store as a teenager. and because I was the metal head, I had to sort the metal section. The amount of cds that just stayed in the 'New arrivals" box, because I couldn't read the damn band names was impressive and embarrassing 😭

But whenever I'm at a black n death metal show, doing a drunken merch shopping spree, it kind of sucks having to decipher the band names on the actual shirts the day after before you gift them, to make sure you didn't just accidentally buy some nazi band shirt 😅.

Didn't you have like that paper that they give you where all the stuff the store is getting is listed (I don't know how's it called in English). Basically a list you have to check out for the goods you're receiving.

I've been dabbling in metal logos and it's astonishing how close you can get to pure symmetry and still get different letters. Really cool stuff.
There is a death metal band called party cannon and their logo is the toys r us font

Thy Catafalque is dope as fu... Despite being genred as avant-garde it has so many great instrumental melodic metal songs (sometimes with Hungarian folk verses)

This is a fun one lmao. I love videos where people try to read metal hieroglyphs. I would love to see more of this. When i try to design logos for myself just for fun, i also like to mirror half of the design, and add or remove a few lines to fit the letter.

Nik would LOVE Arsis if he gave them a chance. Especially the album, We are the Nightmare. Features Ryan Knight (ex The Black Dahlia Murder, and I think he sat in on a tour playing for Abigail Williams) on lead guitar. Well, I say "lead", but vocalist/guitarist James Malone and he switch off seamlessly and frequently.

Bloodbath's logo should be pretty straightford since they're a somewhat popular band for death metal. I know a lot of prog fans that like them since Mikael form Opeth was in the band for a bit. That one "I can get into this" death metal band despite their heavy HM2 sound next to later Death and a certain At The Gates album for those not too much into the genera (love the new record btw).
I'm hoping sanguisugabogg, or however you spell it, was on the list at some point.

Thy Catafalque is really good. Certainly one of the better avant garde metal projects out there. I can recommend Meta, his 2016 album. That's the one that got me hooked.

We have a punky black metal band in Denmark, called Satanic Assault Division, who always just writes SAD, when signing their merchandise. They are very fun!
