I love the fact that she doesn't even try and explain it to the daughter, because it looked so obvious.

Corey felt like a main character that came out of nowhere in Halloween Ends. I thought this movie was going to be about Laurie vs Michael. They felt like side characters in their own franchise. Michael didn't appear until halfway through the movie.
This new timeline has never been about Myers vs strode. The only two main characters are haddenfield and the shape. With that in mind, this movie was amazing

I think she was too in shock over her boyfriend dead
To be fair, most people miss obvious things in real life too. Not to far fetched to for a character to miss that especially if their love interest was dying on the floor in front of them.
Bro, she's in an emotional state where she sees her boyfriend died right in front of her and sees her grandmother holding a knife right above Corey

It's because Allyson's character is dumb for no reason, even in the 2018 film she's dumb
Laurie gives her 3 thousand dollars and she tries to reject for literally NO REASON, they never explain why a highschool kid would reject 3 thousand bux from her grandmother and then she says "well then I'ma save it for college" in a rebellious tone like wtf and Halloween kills Allyson does NOTHING useful, I really don't like her character cuz she really didn't do nun

They're like the tables in WWE matches, not made to last 😂

Wouldn’t the “if I can’t have her no one can!” Line make more sense if he kills the one he loves instead of himself? I mean now everyone BUT Corey can date Laurie’s daughter.
Lmfao probably. That line, fake jump scares, and that girl running in a straight line and just taking the hit from the truck really bring down this otherwise pretty great movie for me.
Maybe he meant because Allison said that he was the one person that treated her like a normal person but it still is kinda dumb.

He knew Allyson wouldn't wanna date anyone else because of how Corey made her feel
@@jalenmitchell9218 well it’s not like he Stockholmed her or anything plus she’s a young adult sure it was traumatic but statistically she’ll find a new partner eventually.
If they would have explored Corey’s story side by side with becoming “The Shape” from the very beginning, I would have understood. I would have most certainly been all for it as well. Since the beginning this was Michael and Laurie’s story and it should have stayed that way. All of us, including Laurie should have had closure and the book be closed. It was clear since Halloween Kills that DGG had absolutely no idea where he was going with this. Honestly if he would have stopped after 2018 it would have been a phenomenal send off. That movie was brilliant.
Ends was changed during early pandemic. The original idea was to have ends on same night as 2018 and kills which is more like the first two movies. The 4 year jump hinders the movie and brings questions. Corey should of been there since 2018 maybe as a friend of Allison. Possibly they had a class trip to smiths Grove sanitarium michael locked eyes on Corey and Allison. Ends could of explained Corey killing the little boy the same night from 2018 because evil was passed onto others. Just lots of missed opportunities
2018 sucked balls
@@ScaredStraightProductions I don't understand why the fact that there was a pandemic forced them to change the plot of the film.
@@lpallad1 it didn't. They changed it because all 3 movies were gonna be same night. DGG had a crazy idea during kills to the change it to the Corey story.
I like how they play with “theater of the mind” when Laurie shoots the pumpkin-like your brain automatically assumes it was an offscreen human death with the color and visual splatter…but she actually shot a jack-o’-lantern! 👀💭
Would have worked better if they didn’t show this all in the trailer where you know Laurie is behind the door
@@josephf3713 Nah, I think it worked great the way they shot it, I mean the whole point of the scene is “theatre of the mind” did she really just kill herself??? 💭👀💭
I mean, the puzzle pieces given her back story certainly point in that direction (the trauma, alcoholism, neurotic behavior, agoraphobia, etc…she had every reason to do so but then if Laurie succumbs to suicide the whole stronger then Michael survivor chain is broken and you really don’t have a story anymore.
Just my two cents…🤷🏼♂️
@@josephf3713 Gordon Green is subtle in his context clues-he gives you just enough ‘detail’ to keep you guessing without giving it away…I like that, I like that about him as a Director, I thought ENDS was his best entry so far!
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
@@josephf3713 Another take away from this scene for me anyways was Laurie’s state of mind and the timing here-she’s so frantically scared that she actually pulls the knife out to try and save Corey instead of leaving it alone or tossing it and running, hard to think or explain away a situation your brain is still trying to process but…something tells me that Allyson’s mind was already made up as soon as she saw what was on the other side of that door given the rocky relationship between the two
@@josephf3713 Laurie was already guilty in Allyson’s mind even though in actuality she was innocent-I mean what chance do you have and that point???
Anyone noticed Lori was wearing a similar outfit she wore In Halloween one
Yes, nice little throwback there. Her clothes and hair are just like in the final act of original
This scene wasted any single potential Corey stood for and why I ended up hating the film. What’s the point of having a replacement Shape if he just kills himself? Michael would never. “Evil Changes Shapes” theme was such a cool and smart idea! Executed poorly.
okay but laurie going “did you really think i’d kill myself?” was such a serve
When Laurie first met Corey, they found a kindred spirit and common ground with both being the Haddonfield pariahs over things they had no control over and victims of Michael Myers even as he was still at large. It's why she was still willing to help him even as he clearly changed but the origin of his evil was still mysterious all the same. It's because of that Laurie knew Allyson was not mentally healthy enough to be around Corey. As for here, Corey isn't as durable and enduring as Michael is so he was left foiled and critically injured.
Allyson was seen as this evil person to blame for everything but it's the effects of her trauma because of Michael Myers. Laurie dealt with her trauma by defining herself with it while Karen dealt with it by trying to forget it all. Allyson dealt with it by focusing on Laurie while neglecting herself.
Laurie at the very least had a home and parents to go back to back in 1978 with the bonus of Michael being apprehended and imprisoned. Allyson by comparison had nothing after Halloween 2018 and Michael disappeared into the night so he remained at large. Even in the beginning, it was seen that Allyson and Laurie grew apart in the 4 years. A conversation with Corey later on said that Allyson was so terrified of her grandmother utterly relapsing and falling apart that she stayed in Haddonfield even though it was clearly making her miserable (She also was clearly too scared of leaving and going elsewhere to make a fresh start). It didn't help that Laurie also felt immense guilt for Allyson becoming orphaned and that helped to make the whole thing a codependent relationship.
With all of this, Allyson was of course going to grow angry, bitter, hateful, and resentful towards her grandmother. Despite what she said to Corey about knowing he was not her project, Corey was clearly a distraction from her misery hence why she couldn't see his darkness or likely refused to acknowledge it. Logically she knew Laurie was not responsible for what Michael did but the lie Corey put in her head was the final straw and her saying that lie was her lashing out. Allyson came back home and that may have indicated that she was possibly open to reconciliation with Laurie.
With her clouded mind, Allyson needed big proof and the radio station on fire and the call about the reported suicide at Laurie's place were all the proof she needed to go back home and save her grandmother's life. As for what Corey did, it's a nice and different take on the possessive nature. Rather than kill anyone Allyson could grow attached to, he decided to kill himself. After all, there's a lot in Allyson's situation that stay hung on the past and just isolate themselves in bitterness and grief until death for refusing to move on.
As for after Michael's body was disposed of, Allyson explained how she realized that Corey did become evil and that the Halloween 2022 murder spree was all him. Allyson finally moved out to make a fresh start as her healing required it. For her and Laurie to truly heal, they'd need to be able to function on their own and thrive trusting that the other would do great. After all, Laurie was in no way responsible for what Michael did and she's pretty much an elderly woman at that point who can grow to be OK on her own. It's a nice touch and the perfect way to end their stories.
TLDR: This movie sucked donkey balls, that I had to write an essay to try and defend it.
@@njjo1 I said more than intended but that part is your opinion.
I like your thoughts on it

Real thoughts:
Corey shouldn’t have been a villain at all. It takes away from Michael and his mystique that he could potentially be replaced in any way.
Corey and Allyson could have simply equated to the “next generation survivors” role while Laurie fully comes into the role of the new Loomis.
It doesn’t take away from the mystique of Myers.
Michaels legend grew large over Haddonfield and his essence caused the next cascade of terror.
If anything Corey shows how much Myer's influence has caused the town to breed new killers
She should’ve just walked away when he stabbed himself, and act surprised when her daughter showed up.

Yay Halloween ends clip 😊😊
Old Laurie Strode = Dr.Samuel Loomis
Corey = 1978-1996 Michael Myers (10 year timeline)
Having a final showdown between Laurie and Michael at the end of Kills would have been better than this messy screenplay that throws in a new character that doesn’t even factor into the final confrontation.
Agreed. There was no need for this movie. Looking back, I think H18 was the perfect, mysterious ending, and Kills and Ends never needed to happen
It does factor into the confrontation! Michael was after his mask! If Corey didn’t take it Micheal would still be in his lair chilling, there wouldn’t be no Halloween ends! Corey is a major factor because he brought Michael out the woodworks! Corey is the key to all of this! You think Laurie would be out there for the past 4 years looking and looking for the shape? Halloween ends needed another story to lore in Michael and Laurie! Without this second story (Corey) this movie would be repetitive and people like you would still complain! This movie also deep dives into the essence of evil that John carpenter brought to the table briefly. Dgg trilogy isn’t just for kills and jump scares. It has a story to it. The meaning is bigger than a lot of people think it is.
I get the idea of having Corey in the movie. So Myers can get back his evil strength. Put his story went on for way too long in the movie.
Corey’s story?
@@Kenny-ep2nf Yes Corey's story. He was pretty much the main character of this movie, even more than Laurie or Myers. A forgettable unattached to character who we followed for 99% of the movie, while Myers hid in a sewer and came out only at the very end. Not to mention, almost all the characters in this movie that die make stupid af decisions. Not a big surprise why it got so much negative feedback and rightfully so.
@@MrDCHun yeah I can see why
I do think the idea was good, but I do not see Myers as the kind of person who would team up with someone instead of doing things by himself. I get he was weakened and that he needed it, but he could have killed Corey as soon as he had the strength to do so then become the killing machine he once was.
It felt more like a Halloween spin-off. I was expecting an epic final showdown between Michael and Laurie. Instead we get a movie dominated by a new character with no connection to the history of the franchise and a weak Michael Myers who goes out with a whimper.
It was a nice build up to the final Michael vs Laurie showdown the HALLOWEEN movies were gearing for.
I still don’t understand why he stabbed himself in the neck like when someone says “If I can’t have her no one can” that usually means they would either kill everyone associated her or kill her first than himself but he did the exact opposite. Like bruh she can have anyone now cause you stabbed your self in the neck. What’s worse we spent all that time with him just for that like wow what a waste of time and I was so happy when Michael snapped his neck.
He didn't say if I can't have her no one can. He just said if I can't have her and then stabbed himself.
@@TheJoker27780 well obviously it’s still the same type of line. Like “if I can’t have her” I’m pretty sure we know what he was gonna say after that but he chose to stupidly stab himself in the neck.
@@Ghostface1998 How is it the same type of line. He's saying if he can't have her he doesn't want to live. Its why he stabs himself.
It was more of a “if i cant have her, id rather be dead” type thing
@@theprimagen well I didn’t interpret that way cause I don’t really hear that type of line in media just the one I mentioned.
should make a Halloween chapter with antagonist Corey Cunningham
What a good example of wrong place, wrong time
What i get from this is that the evil was just about to fully take over but corey was still there just enough to save them from himself which then gave Michael the power back a bit which is why he was kinda strong fighting laurie but during that kitchen fight laurie says "do it" then looks into his eyes and has the same memory montage as corey did hinting she took the rest of michaels evil super power to be able to finally kill him. Then at The very end when Frank and Lauri are sitting on the porch with Frank looking very concerned while Laurie is just staring and says "tell me more about those cherry blossoms" all blankly, hinting that she now has the evil. I would totally watch her become what she once feared.
Its got a lot of flaws and some aspects really make me scratch my head, but I like the different approach and admired the risk for it.
It's what halloween 5 should have been.
This reminds me of Friday the 13th Part 5 with Imposter Roy but instead we have Imposter Corey lol. We've come full circle. On the movie, Coreys story beats were dragged on and not enough Myers.
Corey was a tragic character and I really loved him and wished he would have lived past the credits but him and Michael are still no match for this Laurie Strode!!!
Maybe he is alive, he didn’t get incinerated
@@Kenny-ep2nf I'd say he is for sure dead. I dont see them going back to this timeline and we'll get a reboot in the next 5 years or so. encourage the Roots in your city to finish off the sequence numbers to work off the numbers he sees to a zero to see another row of number to use. He way in the past. He has spirit papers from the past unused that needs handing how he hears long ago. The new spirit color Blue changed the new look with new categories to the spirit papers to order and the new computer has worthwhile changes to it- all of the new papers are really colored to the eye to the color they are in.

i feel like if they ever reboot this movie Corey could come back alive and get his revenge but probably wouldn't be possible because of Laurie not wanting to play in the movie anymore.
They made so many halloween films that I'm to the point that just let Michael die and be done with it. I don't get Corey's character at all. It just doesn't make sense to me
😂😂😂 Bottled it.
