I've always had a soft spot for this movie. Rob Zombie's interpretation of Michael Myers is so imposing and primal. Even as a child, the scene where he beats the bully to death with the tree branch is kinda unsettling in how raw and violent it is. The kill in the bathroom is the same way, it's so feral and vicious. This Michael Myers is never "evil just because of supernatural forces," he's evil because he's mentally disturbed, had a bad upbringing, and even after getting committed, he never had anyone that would help him. Just Dr. Loomis trying to make his fortune and a name for himself. This Michael Myers is ALMOST someone to be pitied rather than cartoonishly demonic. He's a man, who was once a boy, neither of which ever had a fair chance at a decent life.
wibby Woo But this one is better, because has more scenes with Dee Wallace. If my mother was not my mother i wanted Dee Wallace's Mrs. Strode to be my mother.

Idk dude. Hulking giants towering over you is more intimidating than you think. Average size people usually gives you the idea that you can fight back. Unless you're like a dwarf or something which kinda goes back to what I first said. Lol

Honestly I like how in this one you actually see Michael become the embodiment of evil. Like theres moments when it slips then hes a normal kid again and then over time the emotionless killing machine takes over. Its more interesting imo
Honestly this movie is just a stereotype of generic real life serial killers. What makes the original so phenomenal is that Michael was a normal kid then randomly killed his sister. But in this movie he has a shitty childhood and gets bullied. You can see Michael start killing motherfucka a mile away. This movie would’ve been good if it was a normal family then Michael just snapped and killed his sister and things.
They missed a perfect opportunity to have Michael's last words be "Boo". Referring to Strodes childhood nickname and the classic halloween jump scare little kids attempt to use. It would also mean a lot since it would be Michael's first words in fifteen years
I heard that he actually was going to make him say Happy Halloween boo, or something like that, but it's a Michael Myers movie. He didn't want to stay too far from the silent killer theme.

how is it possible that he was so criticized .. especially on 2 that Rob wanted to do a completely different thing and much more on psychological terror.
Yeah but the first half of the movie completely misses the point of who Michael Myers is as a character The reason Michael’s actions are scary is because there’s no reason for it. Giving him a back story of any kind throws that out the window
@@s.nifrum4580That and no shit to the kid actor, but he doesn't sell it for me. Nothing about that kid to me evoked fear in me and it was hard to put myself in the story. There is something to be said about humanizing a horror villain too much. I don't remember the original one, but I really dislike this one. The acting isn't great, the dialogue is cheesy (the way the teens talk gives a heavy "hello, fellow kids" vibes), there's a sex scene every 4 seconds and Laurie is the typical "not like the other girls" "look at me I'm quirky" character. This movie is really nothing special and after a while I got bored. Hell, I liked the Friday the 13th remake better than this one and I hated most of those characters. What made the movie for me was that it owned up to being a slasher. It wasn't supposed to be taken seriously and you could tell the actors had a lot of fun. Precisely.
He’s not really pure evil in this film, but he’s pretty close…
he wasn't born evil in the original, it depends on what timeline you look at, in the 2018 trilogy, yes, he was pure evil, but in the H20 and original trilogy he was possesed by a demon.

Couldn't have said it better bro

I actually liked the remake. It was the first Halloween I ever saw and the kills were crazy.
When he takes out the picture “family good, no kill family” best part in this video!
Honestly I like how in this one you actually see Michael become the embodiment of evil. Like theres moments when it slips then hes a normal kid again and then over time the emotionless killing machine takes over. Its more interesting imo
An embodiment of evil wouldn't have to be made tho
Honestly this movie is just a stereotype of generic real life serial killers. What makes the original so phenomenal is that Michael was a normal kid then randomly killed his sister. But in this movie he has a shitty childhood and gets bullied. You can see Michael start killing motherfucka a mile away. This movie would’ve been good if it was a normal family then Michael just snapped and killed his sister and things.
They missed a perfect opportunity to have Michael's last words be "Boo". Referring to Strodes childhood nickname and the classic halloween jump scare little kids attempt to use. It would also mean a lot since it would be Michael's first words in fifteen years
Connor Hogen Or happy Halloween Boo. Now I’m upset about it
I heard that he actually was going to make him say Happy Halloween boo, or something like that, but it's a Michael Myers movie. He didn't want to stay too far from the silent killer theme.

It's so disappointing because I like and even love some bad movies (see, House of Wax or The Stuff) but this movie has no charm to it. It's just....bad.
