I gotta say my expectations were really low after watching the video. It just looked so simple. Yet I gotta say it was refreshing and I was pleasantly surprised to see such lucid instructions.
I saved precious 500 rs that some technician was gonna charge me for it.
    Kudos Acer Support 👍

I upgraded my Acer Nitro 5 yesterday with an M.2 NvMe SSD, thanks to your step by step tutorial.
However, two things as stated in the video did not happen during my upgrading process:
    1. After installing the SSD onto the laptop, i went into bios to set the boot priority (as stated @4:12) only the bootable USB stick showed up and the new M.2 drive did not show up in the boot priority order. However I clicked enter and I was able to install window onto new M.2 NvMe SSD.
    2. After installing windows onto my M.2 NvMe SSD, windows was not able to able to detect the hard disk I had removed during the upgrading process. The hard disk also was not showing in disk management. However, I was able to fix the issue by going to device manager and then onto other devices and under that my hard disk was visible with a (!) sign. I right clicked on it and selected update driver. Windows updated the driver. After that went into disk management. At the bottom part the hard disk was visible. I Right click on the hard disk and selected new simple volume, and assigned a drive letter and voila the hard disk was up and running.
I made this post to help anyone who is looking to upgrade or may have faced similar issues during the upgrade process. Hope this helps and thanks to acer for the video. Cheers guys ✌

This model laptop uses sata M.2 so it wont be faster than a 2.5 ssd. You can see at 3:15 the M.2 ssd has 2 notches in it. So I dont think an NVME ssd would even fit and if it did would not get the NVME speeds. It would still be much faster than the HDD. I was hoping to find that information in this video but found it elsewhere. Nice instructional video. I have heard the screw is usually not installed in most models so anyone planning on doing this will probably need a screw to hold the M.2 ssd.

  • @jordanoden234

Just did this, seems to work fine. If anyone is trying to do this just know that when you get the m.2 sata ssd, the port on the laptop may look like it is a nvme drive instead of sata. Your data m.2 drive will still be fine, you may have to put a bit of force when installing the drive, you should hear a click. The laptop will recognise the drive in the boot order. Thanks for the video.

However, all the data files I had on the original hard drive are not there anymore, particularly thousands of photos I had. All that appears on the original hard drive are various Windows and Program files. Anythoughts ?

I hve this same problem before, what I do is clear up my hard disk until it reaches 100gb by transferring it somewhere else. The point here is that, if your ssd is 256 gb, your hard disk storage used must be lower than 256gb

    Hi,
I have Aspire E15 (E5-576G-57ZT) laptop and I would install M.2 SSD drive, What about WD Blue Label SN550 500GB SSD PCIe NVMe? Is this drive compatible with my laptop??
Actually I found the four PCI express ports, the maximum line width of the first is 4x and the second is 2x and the 3rd and the fourth is 1x.
Are these numbers adequate to install M.2 PCLe? , Because I have some doubts about this laptop, I think it doesn't have a heat sink pad for cooling the memory drives and maybe the high speed of reading and writing causes a problem or affects on the drive efficiency, what do you think?

To clarify, I recommend removing the drive when installing Windows on the M.2 drive. Make sure Windows is completely set up before putting your regular drive back in. You could format/wipe the old SATA drive to use for extra space. Follow this video and you should be fine.

@@sntaisho Technically you're right, but for most scenarios it makes it easier to remove it when he does in the video.
