Kenneth, m.2 is just a different form factor. That's it. In fact, most M.2 SSD still use Sata III. Some of the newer ones use Pci-e but they are less common and more expensive. 2 Esdras 7:75 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, show this also to thy servant: whether after death, as soon as every one of us yields up his soul, we shall be kept in rest until those times come when thou wilt renew the creation, or whether we shall be tormented at once?" 76 He answered me and said, "I will show you that also, but do not be associated with those who have shown scorn, nor number yourself among those who are tormented. 77 For you have a treasure of works laid up with the Most High; but it will not be shown to you until the last times. 78 Now, concerning death, the teaching is: When the decisive decree has gone forth from the Most High that a man shall die, as the spirit leaves the body to return again to him who gave it, first of all it adores the glory of the Most High. 79 And if it is one of those who have shown scorn and have not kept the way of the Most High, and who have despised his law, and who have hated those who fear the Most High -- 80 such spirits shall not enter into habitations, but shall immediately wander about in torments, ever grieving and sad, in seven ways. 81 The first way, because they have scorned the law of the Most High. 82 The second way, because they cannot now make a good repentance that they may live. 83 The third way, they shall see the reward laid up for those who have trusted the covenants of the Most High. 84 The fourth way, they shall consider the torment laid up for themselves in the last days. 85 The fifth way, they shall see how the habitations of the others are guarded by angels in profound quiet. 86 The sixth way, they shall see how some of them will pass over into torments. 87 The seventh way, which is worse than all the ways that have been mentioned, because they shall utterly waste away in confusion and be consumed with shame, and shall wither with fear at seeing the glory of the Most High before whom they sinned while they were alive, and before whom they are to be judged in the last times. 88 "Now this is the order of those who have kept the ways of the Most High, when they shall be separated from their mortal body. 89 During the time that they lived in it, they laboriously served the Most High, and withstood danger every hour, that they might keep the law of the Lawgiver perfectly. 90 Therefore this is the teaching concerning them: 91 First of all, they shall see with great joy the glory of him who receives them, for they shall have rest in seven orders. 92 The first order, because they have striven with great effort to overcome the evil thought which was formed with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death. 93 The second order, because they see the perplexity in which the souls of the unrighteous wander, and the punishment that awaits them. 94 The third order, they see the witness which he who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive they kept the law which was given them in trust. 95 The fourth order, they understand the rest which they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the glory which awaits them in the last days. 96 The fifth order, they rejoice that they have now escaped what is corruptible, and shall inherit what is to come; and besides they see the straits and toil from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they are to receive and enjoy in immortality. 97 The sixth order, when it is shown to them how their face is to shine like the sun, and how they are to be made like the light of the stars, being incorruptible from then on. 98 The seventh order, which is greater than all that have been mentioned, because they shall rejoice with boldness, and shall be confident without confusion, and shall be glad without fear, for they hasten to behold the face of him whom they served in life and from whom they are to receive their reward when glorified. 99 This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced; and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter." 100 I answered and said, "Will time therefore be given to the souls, after they have been separated from the bodies, to see what you have described to me?" 101 He said to me, "They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations." 102 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, show further to me, thy servant, whether on the day of judgment the righteous will be able to intercede for the unrighteous or to entreat the Most High for them, 103 fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear." 104 He answered me and said, "Since you have found favor in my sight, I will show you this also. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." .....2 Esdras 7:75 //////////////
First of all I want to congratulate and thank you for this video. This video is by far the most illuminating and most clear video I have ever watched on youtube these days about clearing what M.2 NVMe and what it is NOT! Having watched at least a dozen videos on the issue, it is only this video which cleared out everything that was under the wraps in my mind. I think the powerful sides of this video are: 1) perfect animations 2) quite clear and slow description of things (many videos on youtube do not understand they are explaining the material i) to non-technical people ii) to technical people but who do not have much expertise in the area iii)to people whose mother tongue is not English) 3) sufficient information (not too much, not too less) 4) and just the technical information well balanced without any babbling, silly jokes or stupid phrases appearing every now and then- once again thanks and keep up the good work.
After _years_ of using HDDs, I finally just got an SSD, and *wow.* I was expecting a small boost but instead experienced the fasted boot up in my life.
As most of the comments are suggesting, the effort you have put into simple explanations in the video is simply brilliant. Well done and thank you for the great effort. 👍
Everyone buying an M.2 SSD should take careful note of 6:00 as almost everyone I know of still gets confused what nvme and sata is. Thank you for helping me, too!
Haven’t watched this video yet, but I’m happy just to see you still create RUclips content. Studying your latest CompTIA A+ video at the moment & love it. Exam scheduled for August 30th. Thank you.
Francisco Santos Sad to say, but I’ve been studying for probably 5-6 months. Due to bouncing around from different study materials, while also trying to figure out the best way for ME to learn caused a major delay in achieving the cert.
I am still scratching my head about why would someone dislike this video. Everything said here was absolutely correct and highly informative. And it wasn’t also hypothetical and was presented with detailed data facts. Some people hit the dislike button just for the sake of it.
Late to this party but thank you, this is just what I needed. I haven't built a bare bones system in a while (OK, a decade) and this resolved so many SSD questions that I had. As an old geek I really like to know why things go together the way they do and you have a wonderfully concise way of explaining things.
Probably because Linus is usually pretty clueless, his minions are continually correcting him.. It's difficult for someone to explain concepts which they themselves barely grasp...
Dude you have the BEST VIDEOS I have ever seen on any social media platform. I was thinking today while watching people just talking using no graphics to show us what they are talking about and I hate listening to people on a video and all we see them do is talk with just their MOUTH FACE and no graphics.
Your video is well done. It is informative, interesting, and easy to understand. I am sure most people appreciate this type of explanation as much as I do. I have a technical background but I am not impressed when someone throws dozens of acronyms around in an attempt to show intelligence. It reminds me of the military. Side note: Someone told me that while he was in the service, he told his boss the same thing every morning. It was this. "Hey Sarge, I'm heading down to HQ for C&D." Sounding official, his boss agreed and knew the trip would take the customary 2 hours. It ended after 18 months when the Sargent asked "What is C&D ?" Oh, he replied, Coffee and Donuts. I look forward to watching more of your videos. G
WONDERFUL VIDEO! I'm an Old Dog and was wondering what the heck was up with all these new M.2 drives. Now I'm with the program! Very simply put, straight forward, I can now regurgitate that I learned here and not sound like I'm from last century! I guess you can teach Old Dogs new tricks!
Thank you so much for this video. I've been trying to understand M.2/NVME for ages and haven't been able to find a video that explained it in a straight forward way. I appreciate how you broke it down.
Wow. You explained this technology very well. As an IT professional, I am not immune to learning about new concepts and technologies. I was going to purchase the Samsung 970 pro PCIe but went with the Crucial 1TB PCIe to save money. They both have good reviews so I am hoping to have great success with the Crucial. I've decided to subscribe to your channel and am looking forward to your videos. Thank you.

Guys, your video are just realllyyy awesome, I'm a technician on computers and I can't barely explain things like these as perfect as yours to my customer, which basically have low knowledge of computer technologies, a KUDOS to you guys.
I can't believe I really *SLEPT* on this these storage form factors for *YEARS* now. I've seen these on Amazon, I thought they were some kind of laptop memory never reading descriptions. 2017, My Son bought Me a Dell 5600 series, only opening it to add more memory and a 2nd hard disk drive. I didn't pay attention too much at the MotherBoard. End of 2020, both My houses caught fire due to vacant house in between being set on fire. Lots of fire/water damage and huge losses of many things. My Dell didn't get damaged at all other than debris being inside it. I finally after 2 years decided to work on it to see if it was still functional, it is and using it now. So, while vacuuming it out and wiping inside with alcohol, I noticed 2 slots for these types of drives marked *_NVMe & M.2 SSD._* Realizing something could be connected to the slots. I looked it up, slapped My forehead shocked of Me sleeping on these. I will be purchasing those *_"little sticks of gum."_* They're very cheap now.
This is the kind of special channel you hope would exist when you think of "RUclips" as a whole. This is the very definition of looking up helping and finding it when you need it in a simple easy to digest format.

Glad to see you recommend the M.2 I had my eyes on. Though I'm waiting for it to come out in the 2TB model (April 2019?) I would have like for you to add some info on issues that some mobos seem to have where you have to "decide" which PCIe M.2 adapter to use - as they share the bus with one of the PCIe expansion slots (apparently my Asus Z170 has this issue).

92 The first order, because they have striven with great effort to overcome the evil thought which was formed with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death. 93 The second order, because they see the perplexity in which the souls of the unrighteous wander, and the punishment that awaits them. 94 The third order, they see the witness which he who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive they kept the law which was given them in trust. 95 The fourth order, they understand the rest which they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the glory which awaits them in the last days. 96 The fifth order, they rejoice that they have now escaped what is corruptible, and shall inherit what is to come;
and besides they see the straits and toil from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they are to receive and enjoy in immortality.
99 This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced; and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter." 100 I answered and said, "Will time therefore be given to the souls, after they have been separated from the bodies, to see what you have described to me?" 101 He said to me, "They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations."
102 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, show further to me, thy servant, whether on the day of judgment the righteous will be able to intercede for the unrighteous or to entreat the Most High for them, 103 fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear." 104 He answered me and said, "Since you have found favor in my sight, I will show you this also. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." .....2 Esdras 7:75

It's so rare to find a video made exactly for the kind of conundrum you have, this is one of the videos I will remember for years and years!
After _years_ of using HDDs, I finally just got an SSD, and *wow.* I was expecting a small boost but instead experienced the fasted boot up in my life.
same, it was my hdd only laptop, it's a great management class if you dont upgrade it
Oh yea. I'm slowly upgrading teacher laptops with SSDs at the schools I work at. It has been a massive improvement for them.
@Cosmo Kramer Buy a ticket and take the ride. America is back baby!
I've had an SSD since 2015, but even then I see a huge benefit in speeds with NVMe.

1:54 the computer illustration he used brings back memories
As most of the comments are suggesting, the effort you have put into simple explanations in the video is simply brilliant. Well done and thank you for the great effort. 👍
Everyone buying an M.2 SSD should take careful note of 6:00 as almost everyone I know of still gets confused what nvme and sata is. Thank you for helping me, too!
I searched everywhere in internet to explain in simple terms. Nothing beats your video. Simple to the point.
Thank you.
Haven’t watched this video yet, but I’m happy just to see you still create RUclips content. Studying your latest CompTIA A+ video at the moment & love it. Exam scheduled for August 30th. Thank you.
Thanks :)
How much time you been studying for the exam bro?
Francisco Santos Sad to say, but I’ve been studying for probably 5-6 months. Due to bouncing around from different study materials, while also trying to figure out the best way for ME to learn caused a major delay in achieving the cert.
@@PMPHUSTLE - Good luck on exam
I am still scratching my head about why would someone dislike this video. Everything said here was absolutely correct and highly informative. And it wasn’t also hypothetical and was presented with detailed data facts. Some people hit the dislike button just for the sake of it.
so do i need an ssd or a hard drive for storage besides ddr4 ram?
Keptonrae Pingmi i now do got everything set up was completely clue less at the time LOL
Late to this party but thank you, this is just what I needed. I haven't built a bare bones system in a while (OK, a decade) and this resolved so many SSD questions that I had. As an old geek I really like to know why things go together the way they do and you have a wonderfully concise way of explaining things.
As everybody else here has already commented; great, informative video which provided all of the info I needed and then some.
This is first ever channel I subscribed without a second thought.
This is way better than Linus Tech videos. Kudos!
When actual engineer do explanation
@@kuramarosetta8193 so true, I was wondering why I didn't felt good watching his videos
Probably because Linus is usually pretty clueless, his minions are continually correcting him.. It's difficult for someone to explain concepts which they themselves barely grasp...
Linus is more of a salesman than an engineer. This is why.
Linus Tech is overrated!
I have watched a few of your videos now and find them the most clear and concise videos on tech - ever! Excellent and thank you very much.
Awesome content! Best explanation on this I've seen so far.
G
Thank you :)
Probably the best video on any computer subject that I have ever seen.
Amazing
I wasn t getting a grasp of the notion but know everything is just clear you re the best that s gonna help for my tomorrow's exam
Incredible quality video, easy to understand
WONDERFUL VIDEO! I'm an Old Dog and was wondering what the heck was up with all these new M.2 drives. Now I'm with the program! Very simply put, straight forward, I can now regurgitate that I learned here and not sound like I'm from last century! I guess you can teach Old Dogs new tricks!
If my Teachers were this good at explaining things, better part of my life would have been easier is an understatement.
Oh, Hell Yeah!
Excellent technical information and I'm astounded by the art and production of this video. Engaging and informative. Fantastic video.
Thank you. :)
WoW!!
This must be the 1st & only video about different ssd's worth a 👏!!
Very well explained
Thanks for making this video. I'm so glad that I watch this before buying a new CPU.. This vid really helps a lot!
Thank you.
How did that crucial m.2 work 4 u,,, im considering the same
"In orher word, its fast" that simplified everything
Lmaoo
thanks powercert. i always wondered what the difference was. these videos have taught me so much. im currently studying for the 901 and 902 and the visual representations have really helped me. thanks again.
me to this is very good
Guys, your video are just realllyyy awesome, I'm a technician on computers and I can't barely explain things like these as perfect as yours to my customer, which basically have low knowledge of computer technologies, a KUDOS to you guys.
I am new to all of this at age 67! Thank you for your excellent work! You get a comment and a like!
Wow that's some series of events. Hope y'all make outta that without too much of a scratch physically or economically
Love this. Feels like I'm back in class learning something new from the subject that I like. Thanks.
One of the best explanations I've heard and seen so far, keep up the good work!!!!👌👌👌👍👍👍👏👏👏
This is the kind of special channel you hope would exist when you think of "RUclips" as a whole. This is the very definition of looking up helping and finding it when you need it in a simple easy to digest format.
The best way to simplify an idea is to use animation. Thanks for your hard work man.
Very complex topic to explain in a simple way.
Love your channel, you make everything so easy to understand when you explain and use simple animation.
Wish you was my teacher back when I was in school. Keep up the excellent work and learn us how stuffs works.
Super nice and easy video and animation that explains everything in a super easy way. Love it!
I cannot stop watching and learning from your videos.. just awesome and kudos 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This is very information packed video. I definitely consider this before for my next purchase. Thanks you. Subscribed.
Awesome !! I'm already a great fan of your videos !! They've helped me in understanding important Hardware and Networking concepts much quickly and easily !! Thanks and keep making such awesome educational videos.
Thank you.
5 years later, I can't believe how dirt cheap 2 Tb m.2 drives have become. It's like they are one their way out to make room for the next big storage technology
Simply amazing on how you explained everything.
I know this video is old but for someone catching up on tech it's amazing.
Woooooooooooowwww! Was searching internet for a while about all this buzz regarding m.2 and nvme. This is by far the MOST eloborated and best explaination I found. Now I know, thank you so much! Big time
Your video convinced me to get the NVME and I love it. Can confirm 3500MBps!
Nice....Thank you.
"Or in other words, it's fast" :D:D:D
Amazing video that clarifies a lot, keep it up.
God bless those animations, how much time did you spent ? Great work ! Thanks for the video
So refreshing to see a thorough and straight forward explaination as opposed to the usual RUclipsrs who rattle things off like an extreme reality tv show host. Instant sub and bookmark of video. Thank you!
Amazing video. This is phenomenal the level of clarity
This is gold....pure gold...thank you.
Thanks
Dude you are just Brilliant! I want to meet you and thank you for educating me everyday. I’ve watched the RAM video almost 10 times. I want to know how to explain technology exactly like you do! You are a MASTER! Thank you soooo soooo much! When I pass my A+ ... I will have you to thank for sure !
Thank you :)
imma business major, so when he said "its fast" it was considerate how he dumbed it down for other people like me
This channel should have Million Sub.. for sure.
Great explanation of this slot. I'm upgrading my 10yr workstation soon ❤️
Amazing explanation sir. Your video helped me a lot to understand SATA & M.2 properly... Thanks a lot sir..
Accidentally this video came in my recommendation today while I'm searching how to build a PC 4days ago due to RUclips algorithm. For past few weeks i got so many doubts and i was not clear how to build a PC. Your content was very clear that i have no doubts. Please do keep up your work and thanks a lot for your valuable videos.
-From India 🇮🇳
Dude your animations kill me. Great channel and exponentially more informative than other cert channels
Your voice and the way you teach, is making faster to save to my brain.
Just like m.2
Thank you for that explanation! I'm no longer confused! 👍😎
The best video explaining SSD.
Thanks
This was fantastic : a perfect explanation thank you !
One of the best explanations i watched in youtube for years..Bro ..you got the qualities of a teacher.
straight to the point, informative, good video all around, man.
that moment, when he just say "it mean, Its fast" that just what i need after wandering on internet for few hours
Thank you so much. Very informative. Your channel really good. Love it.

Me: Watching using my old solid state drive
Another Me: I'll buy it when its cheap after few more years.
Awesome video!! Good explanation and all!! Bravo 👏🏽
This video is expressive and without confusion the best. New subscriber here
Thanks :)
M.2 NVMe SSD that I recommend amzn.to/2VO7E1G
TRANSFERRED.
AWESOME video explanation! I appreciate your time for creating this explainer video. Prior to this, I didn't now what the big deal was about microSD's vs SATA, vs NVMe SSD's.
Why is the price on that page so high, even compared to newer models of Samsung M.2 NVMe SSDs?
im using samsung 990 pro and it is very fast
you need to update your description, the samsung 970 is a snail compared to the WD BLACK sn850x
Wow, just WOW... i`m speechless, from this video i`ve learned the difference between SSD SATA and SSD NVMe M.2 which i didn`t know it... Thank you!
Realmente muy buen video. Expicación clara y concisa. Además de un inglés perfectamente entendible.
Greetings!
Thank you for this video! This is the first one I've seen that actually explains what NVMe MEANS! Incredibly useful!
You are soo good at this
at 3:10 NVMe is flexing
Big Fan Here! 🤗 Need to create these kinds of animations for different purpose, Kindly suggest which program should I use to get such results?
The bast teaching..vary well made video series..thank
Well done. Straight to the point, and no stupid music.
This is amazing! What a beautiful well-explained content!
