@@KM-hk8tc There's a podcast of another Doctor Mike. Called the check up podcast where Dr.Mike featured In on Doctor mike. You'll get what I mean when you watch it
As a fan of Dr. Mike and Doctor Mike, I loved watching the interview of Dr. Mike by Doctor Mike. Now I get to see Doctor Mike train with Dr. Mike, and Im all for it.
After seeing Doctor Mike's training I want to underline being realistic or even humble when you start training again or for the first time, proud or shame will get you nowhere but patience and consistency definitely will. I started weight training almost a year ago, at first only body weight, very light exercises 30 min. 6 days a week. Now 90 min 6 days a week, not much more than 3 lb weights and harder bodyweight training, but my muscles are starting to show and I'm 22 lb lighter. It has been a slow process, but good enough to keep me going without injury and with manageable fatigue. Of course diet was a great game changer, but consistency is still the main thing that keeps me going and makes me proud of myself. Thanks Dr. Mike and RP team for your work, wisdom and inspiration.
This is actually great to see an applicable measured approach for the non pro bodybuilder (hectic travel, parent, whatever) viewers who have a time crunch. It’s also super useful ideas for minimal equipment garage gym folks who know something is better than nothing 10/10
Today is marking my 2nd time doing this workout at home, I started this week. I plan on finally sticking to something meaningful besides doing basically shit the whole week and then trashing myself for 1,5 hour of intense basketball every Monday and occasionally throwing in another one... Being weak and lazy like me doing this while working an office job is not helping my back, let me tell you that. This workout is pretty quick, and I like doing these exercises. Thanks for the great content! To every person getting off yo ass and going for it, I salute you!
I started my fitness journey 10 months ago, dr mike and all of his instruction, recommendation, and teachings has helped me tremendously with what little resources I have, I'm currently only benching around 140 for 6-8 reps for 6 sets, when I reach my goal of benching, deadlifting, squatting etc my own body weight. I'll be one of those 5 guys at the truck stop for yah dr mike.
I am doctor - I trained for years before covid ; just starting again now after 4 year break. Love mikes videos and I have enough physiology knowledge to know he doesn’t talk the bullshit that’s on 90% of channels. Would love to see the two dr mikes dunk on dr Oz in a collab I know it’s done to death but hell its fun and he deserves it
Definitely saving this as a recommendation for any familiymembers interested in working out. It has that intensity so many people expect from a workout and is still easy on a beginner.
I've seen this workout before on an old video here but this is great because it shows you can bust your ass and get your body comfortable with stuff again with light weight supersets after a break. The new style commentary in the video helped a ton, keep it up.
Doctor mike is just happy to be there. It’s like torturing a golden retriever. 😂 I hope for more examples of 30 minute sessions is there like a playlist of these or something - regular non RUclips person
honestly as a beginner the interview and now these exercises are probably some of the most valuable pieces of content to encorporate in ones own routine that I've seen from RP
Thanks for making this video! I consider Doctor Mike to be relatively fit and it’s great to see what superset workout will work for him and could be used for people like me. When I watch all the fitness pros train with Dr. Mike I often wonder if I will ever get there. Now I know where to start.
They were fucking around like it's a hardcore workout that they were gonna brutalize him with, but this was definitely gentle baby mode since he'd been out for 6 months. Great for injury prevention and getting Dr. Mike back up to speed. Great noob workout getting prepped to start adding weights.
I noticed that Dr. Mike seemed to have the right mix of tough love vs. encouragement when training Doctor Mike. I felt like he gave a lot of encouragement (ex. good job, "you're a fighter", etc) but pushed him when Doctor Mike was starting to slack (ex. "I know all the stall tactics", "No one said break"). Any more encouragement would have been coddling him and any more pushing could have injured Doctor Mike.
What an awesome workout! I am in the same boat as Doctor Mike, and I have been off the heavy training for 4-5 months. Followed along with you guys, and it was an amazing way to get back into things!
Now I would like a 30 minute busy emergency room training where Doctor Mike coaches Dr.Mike giving cpr and ordering medication for people I think that would be good content
I enjoyed this video way more than i should have. I love the little pop up tips from Dr Mike, and Jared . I really enjoyed Dr. Mike on Doctor mikes podcast as well. Thanks for all the gains you guys have helped me achieve.
This is what everyone was waiting for without even talking about it. It's just inevitable. This is the Sony logo corner shot equivalent in the world of internet.
This video makes me pretty fucking happy because I have been doing exactly those exercises lately, as a total beginner. Only difference is that I have been letting myself rest between exercises and I have a few more exercises that I add to the rotation but boy do I feel validated
Did this today 3 sets of 15 reps for each super set. It destroyed me. I'm exhausted. I'm 41 not in good shape. I used light weights. I'm going to continue this 3x a week and see if I can progressively overload little by little. Based on how I feel today I know it will do something.
As a 47 year old, love Dr. Mike's strategy. Usually dealing with constant weight training pain but after 6 months of low and slow, I feel better than i have in a long time.
I literally searched the RP youtube channel for a 30 minute dumbbell workout a few days ago and didn't find anything, so I came up with my own. Definitely going to use this one instead now!
I've got a couple questions regarding this workout. First off, I love the style of supersets. I do the same thing for most of my workouts. But... 1. Doctor Mike is a pretty big guy; I'm surprised he was so fatigued by this workout, even if it has been a while since he's pushed himself. Especially if he was a professional boxer. He clearly isn't extremely deconditioned. 2. Those push-ups were gross. You actually lose quite a bit of chest activation the way his elbows were flared and at that width of hand placement. Get the hands closer, tuck the elbows just a little bit, and focus on the chest squeeze as you rise and at the top. Soooooo much better. 3. For almost any goal, be it strength or hypertrophy, I recommend using a bench to rest your chest when doing rows. Especially if you haven't trained in a while. Really helps a lot when focusing on form and the squeeze. The hinge is great, but there are better times and places for it. 4. For shoulders, I'd typically opt for the overhead press over lateral raises, but I think the latter is a fine choice for this workout. And I usually superset my shoulders with legs (typically squats), too. 5. This kind of baffled me. First off, I'm not a fan of the flat/horizontal curl. You can't load very heavy without risk of tweaking your shoulder, especially if you're a beginner. Either way, just do an incline curl with a good stretch in the bicep. That'll do you just fine. BUT after Mike talks about how important the stretch is, he puts in skull crushers with NO stretch. I metaphorically facepalmed. Just bring the elbows closer to the top of the skull and do tricep extensions. A far superior exercise AND they're a perfect example of what Mike was just preaching. What the heck was this choice??? Mike obviously has an extensive pedigree and following, but sometimes he completely confuddles me with what he says and does. I really wish I could ask him directly, but if anyone has the patience to read this comment and answer any of these points, please educate me! : )
As an old ass beat to shit guy getting back at it this video hits nicely. Seeing a very accomplished but physically human person a few steps closer to where I am is nice to see. Well done both Dr Mikes and Jared, but Medical Doctor Mike, thanks for doing this brother.
Thank you for this. I have a kid and a full-time job, so it's hard to find a training program that I can realistically cram into a lunch break. I can't quite do a set of push-ups so I do as many as I can on the bench then swap to chest press, but everything else is really accessible. Even 3 sets of each gives me enough time to do a warmup and get the whole thing done, in an apartment gym no less. Going to use this exact program to build consistency and then refine once I can do a bit more.

Aside all the great research based exercise tips, whenever Dr. Mike gets into his trash talk, it reminds me of several similarly nice Russians. Some academics, some not, but all were great at the self-deprecating trash talk and all around good and fun people to chat and discuss. @@Ppluvr215 you're a twat, how's that?
Awesome to hear, I'm in a similar position myself
Got to love a "weight heavy" exercise channel where you also hear "let's use some sense here!"
This is actually great to see an applicable measured approach for the non pro bodybuilder (hectic travel, parent, whatever) viewers who have a time crunch.
It’s also super useful ideas for minimal equipment garage gym folks who know something is better than nothing
10/10
What a dark gym, unique look.
More with Doctor Mike pls!
Which one ? 😂

of course Dr. Mike works out in traditional russian подвальной качалке
Only? Give yourself some credit! That’s more than you could before! Good work, keep at it!
Dr. Mike. Thank you so much for making so much free content for people
I am doctor - I trained for years before covid ; just starting again now after 4 year break. Love mikes videos and I have enough physiology knowledge to know he doesn’t talk the bullshit that’s on 90% of channels.
Would love to see the two dr mikes dunk on dr Oz in a collab I know it’s done to death but hell its fun and he deserves it
I love it when Dr. Mike is being so encouraging, I want him there for my workouts !!
Love seeing videos for newbies/ those coming back grouped into your normal super pro videos
I'll be watching this first, then Dr. Mike's collab video with Dr. Mike of two hours! What a lovely Sunday 🎉
Gonna watch this, hit legs, then in my semi-comatose state watch the 2 hour podcast. So same lol
I really love this and Chris Williamson's quick and easy dumbbell workouts. I'd love more of these!
Dr. Mike's bicep veins are looking insane this deep into prep
OMG just watched the podcast and I didn't think this could get any better!!!!!!
My dream to be coached by Mike. Amazing energy and care for form and technique, I love it
Doctor mike is just happy to be there.
It’s like torturing a golden retriever. 😂
I hope for more examples of 30 minute sessions is there like a playlist of these or something
- regular non RUclips person
Doctor Mike is adorable in this... he's also making me feel good about my own training
My two favorite Dr Mike's
honestly as a beginner the interview and now these exercises are probably some of the most valuable pieces of content to encorporate in ones own routine that I've seen from RP
Thanks for making this video! I consider Doctor Mike to be relatively fit and it’s great to see what superset workout will work for him and could be used for people like me. When I watch all the fitness pros train with Dr. Mike I often wonder if I will ever get there. Now I know where to start.
I love this. Entertaining, informative, motivating, no over the top stuff. We need more mike on mike action
Stfu… now I get to see my favorite Dr. Mike and second favorite Dr. Mike AT THE SAME TIME!?
But which is which?
tell us which one is your favorite
@@yasuh4550 the Russian one 😉
It's my favorite Dr. Mike AND my favorite Doctor Mike.
They also have an hour interview over on the other Dr Mike channel.
He did great no baby modes in sight, chill
He has a real job, he's not a bodybuilder. No reason to leave him sore all week
What an awesome workout! I am in the same boat as Doctor Mike, and I have been off the heavy training for 4-5 months. Followed along with you guys, and it was an amazing way to get back into things!
Loving these videos of 15-30 min workouts, thanks for sharing a great way to structure these
I’ve been waiting for the Dr Mike and Doctor Mike collab for a long time
Now I would like a 30 minute busy emergency room training where Doctor Mike coaches Dr.Mike giving cpr and ordering medication for people I think that would be good content
Dr. Mike would start doing pushups on the chest of the patient as CPR
Really is
thats such a perfect analogy
This video makes me pretty fucking happy because I have been doing exactly those exercises lately, as a total beginner.
Only difference is that I have been letting myself rest between exercises and I have a few more exercises that I add to the rotation but boy do I feel validated
Did this today 3 sets of 15 reps for each super set. It destroyed me. I'm exhausted. I'm 41 not in good shape. I used light weights. I'm going to continue this 3x a week and see if I can progressively overload little by little. Based on how I feel today I know it will do something.
How do you like this workout after some time?
As a 47 year old, love Dr. Mike's strategy. Usually dealing with constant weight training pain but after 6 months of low and slow, I feel better than i have in a long time.
I literally searched the RP youtube channel for a 30 minute dumbbell workout a few days ago and didn't find anything, so I came up with my own. Definitely going to use this one instead now!
ruclips.net/video/BKTtJk9-3x0/видео.htmlsi=QmOjAdy0gHNVQggS they have this one
Calm tf down, let them have fun.
As an old ass beat to shit guy getting back at it this video hits nicely. Seeing a very accomplished but physically human person a few steps closer to where I am is nice to see. Well done both Dr Mikes and Jared, but Medical Doctor Mike, thanks for doing this brother.
I have been working out since i was a teenager and still learn better technique skills to add to my workouts. Thanks guys.
We need more content like this with natty internet celebs that are good humans!
I love the guy in the background in cinematic lighting checking his phone with tense music. Somewhere at 3:15
00:20 LOL, he looks so scared. I would be too.
I LOVE the Jared narration box! Awesome new editing choice. Well done RP!
Been waiting for this collab. Two great creators. Love it
Holy shit I was just asking when this was coming. Y'ALL ARE KILLING IT.
dumbbell row technique - shoulder and arm stretch position 2:40
non related workouts back to back
laying bicep curl stretched position 9:00
different skull crusher method 9:13
Dr. Mike, would love to see a full body split for those that go to the gym 3 times a week!
Which one?
Absolutely love this workout, and even a non fitness person like me ACTUALLY managed to finish it in just over 30mins. Thank you both doctor mikes for sharing this ❤
He reminds me of adam regusea. RUclips channel is kind of related to the gym, is built and hot. Even the collab is similiar. You know its bad when you think that these two are average. Probably due to the absolute specimens that are normally on this channel. Loved this collab. Havent seen mike outside of his doctor mode.
Seeing a more average person (no shade Doctor Mike!) working out on the channel has been really encouraging. I'm not trying to be a bodybuilder, but I AM trying to be a healthy person.
Holy shit RP blew up after the Doctor mike podcast, I love it!!!! That talk is also very good and would recommend!
So respectful when doctor Mike adresses dr. Mike and Scott the video guy as sir. Just such a statement of respect. "on your go sir"
10:45 - tried skull crushers like this after struggling to feel them in my triceps for the longest. 😮💨 phew-wee! Talk about pain, lord have mercy. Next level
This is THE BEST collab. On both your channels 🙌
6:30 I laughed so hard at that.
Former personal trainer, now doctor that delivers babies: when coaching for efficient pushing I cut off their set when the form breaks down. Maximum of 3x10 sec pushing lined up with a uterine contraction. The coaching skills translate so well! 💪🏼👶🏼
For somebody who hasn’t trained in a while he looks pretty good
Right? He's more muscular than the average dude you'd see walking around. Doesn't seem like he lost much muscle tissue. If I stopped for 6 months I just have a feeling I'd lose everything.
@@HaggisDruid I don’t know the science but I’m pretty sure muscle loss is a lot slower then people realize and might even be more correlated to diet if anything
@@skyr4tMusic muscle loss is slow especially if you eat a decent amount of protein. A lot of fat guys actually have decent muscle, not Jared swole, but decent. At least those that are active but fat.
@@HaggisDruidI think he mentioned somewhere that he used to be quite big when he was in med school and liked bodybuilding
I'm pretty sure he was around 220 at like 12% bodyfat and could bench 275 at his peak. So while he's closer to the average man than most guests on RP, he's still miles ahead of most people in terms of fitness and muscularity.
This is one of my favorite videos from RP. I love all the content from RP but as a normal guy who works out a few times a week, this video was super relatable.
Dr Mike & Dr Mike
Aside all the great research based exercise tips, whenever Dr. Mike gets into his trash talk, it reminds me of several similarly nice Russians. Some academics, some not, but all were great at the self-deprecating trash talk and all around good and fun people to chat and discuss.
Really brings back some memories and I wonder if this is a common Russian thing.
Also fun to see how dr. Mike and Doctor Mike aren't that similar in many ways, but there is some deep commonality in their approach to things, deep and direct talk, willingness to discuss big problems, and also using similar ways of talking (eg, the rhetorical, self-answered questions).
I can really imagine how inspiring (and mentally challenging) it would be to hang out with both of you!
Hoping for more collabs!
This is all I've ever asked for!!!
I have been doing those laying down bicep curls. They are killer.
the colab i have always dreamed of
The crossover I never expected but the one I always needed.
This is like the best collab ever! I’m so happy :)
Both collabs have been awesome
13:00 my shoulders are crying seeing the guy behind Mike
bro that guy is not gonna be okay. some people are too flexible for their own good.
Bro has never seen weightlifting before
@@MrHongleberry yes you can, and olympic weightlifters practice this
YESSSSS I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS COLLAB. it was great seeing this approach to having a guest on the channel since most of the people featured are people that never seem to take time off
Having your gym partner tell you "you're fine, you have me" is probably one of the best things to hear when you are pushing yourself to the max at the gym
I appreciate the balance and whole body workout.
The crossover we needed.
Pleaaase more content with both Dr. Mikes they're the best on this platform
Dr hair and Dr no hair need to colab more, this is really cool! i dig the newer explanation chime ins too
can we also change Jarods name to Mike?
Thanks! I’m starting over from years of neglect and I was wondering how should I start. I appreciate the content.
