Dr. Mike had LOTS more to say about Pewdiepie's training! Become a member for the uncensored and extended episode! ➡ruclips.net/channel/UCfQgsKhHjSyRLOp9mnffqVgjoin
That pewdiepie video is very old, I think you can find his new home gyms setup in his vlogs in the last year or two. Has a pull up bar / squat rack.
I would legit love love a critique on game characters physique lol
If anyone cares the members only video is 50 minutes long
What happens in an uncensored video with this dude?!😅 chains, oils and handcuffs added to the video😂😂😂😅
A video game streamer named point Crow just said he would be down for a collab. I asked him while he was on stream. You really should reach out.
This was hilarious and super informative, thank you! 😘

Dr Mike’s gaming chair should have full ROM - just sayin.
team full ROM gaming chair
"BUT CAN IT TO THIS?!" - Pewds in his full ROM gaming chair.
And his gaming controller should have weights up to 100kg. His computer mouse is also probably attached to a cable machine.

15:20 Calling Mick Gordon not hardcore is wild
it physically hurts me when Dr Mike said that
I specifically came to comment this. It hurt a lot
mick gordon is literally an entire subgenre in metal at this point
He most likely doesn't listen to deathcore
Man... It was BFG division too! The only way he could've wholeheartedly said that is if he had never listened to that song or any of Mick Gordon's work.
Dr. Mike is a great example of a man who has never needed a closet in his entire life.
not that he would fit in one XD
@@ChristianMallewhat just about to say that
He's married, but also a man who knows the joy of gay banter! A time honoured past time for all real men 😂
Everyone needs a closet... Cuz where you gonna put your clothes if you don't have one? In the floor like a hobo
@@hiscik1362 No, Mike just puts his clothes in his gym locker, because that's where he lives anyway.
Would 100% watch Mike play video games. He could easily do a collab with a gamer where he does a workout with them and they play games with him.
I second this
It would be hilarious
Pewdiepie already playing games with Mike's sexuality
Doooo eeeeeeeeet
I want this so bad
Oh man, you're my hero. Just love that you acted out that glove scene instead of obnoxiously cutting in a random clip as all the other tubers.
I just found your channel and I love your personality. You've earned a new sub, sir.

@MightyFartBomber1 exactly brother 🤣
The thing that I think is great about Pewds doing this is that he's told millions of young people "working out is great".
He said that there's nothing he could say he'd do for the rest of his life except love his wife, and lift weights.
Yeah , just too bad he also said" repeat after me, Hitler did nothing wrong"
Also told them to buy G fuel
@@spbspb2413 lol, there is that...
@@spbspb2413why not it’s caffeine that taste "good" and it’s his sponsor.

This is honestly such an interesting case study on how language works. You can tell this guy and pewdiepie live in completely different social circles by how they use cringe and epic
It's important to note that Pewdiepie uses it sarcastically, if that wasn't clear. I'm not sure how obvious it is to outside observers who don't know his style.
@@irrelevantFJS when you say something sarcastically too often it becomes genuine. This has happened to me multiple times, I can't handle doing the same sarcastic phrases regularly
First time seeing any of your content. Gives a great first impression and I'm not entirely sure why but I feel like you're a blast to be around. Keep up the great work!
Shows how important consistently is. PewDiePie has made some pretty good gains despite his mediocre form because he has stuck with it.
The best kind of training is the one you enjoy and can stick to. It might not be the optimal intensity or the bet exercises, but as long as you're consistent and not doing anything that will mess up your joints you'll get results.
@@jonstiffer4994 Yeah this is true. I think a lot of people can train and eat optimally for at least a few years, and probably get some pretty crazy gains doing it, but it takes a special kind of person to maintain that for 5, 10, 15+ years. I prefer to end most workouts feeling like I had more in the tank, rather than destroying myself, because that way even if I'm having a bad day it's much easier to motivate myself to do it.
@@yewtewbstew547 I've gone to doing full body mostly to feel fully recovered for the next workout, rather than being in a constant state where something is sore or fatigued
@@6393dudeYou shouldn’t be in a constant state of soreness or fatigue no matter what split you do. In fact, if you are, then that means your recovery is lacking. Not sure where you heard that myth.
@@yewtewbstew547 I'm the crazy guy that enjoys the feeling of consistently destroying myself, saving close to like 1-3 reps before complete failure. There's just something fun about seeing constant progress week after week, which is what motivates me to get back in the gym Wednesday after killing myself Monday.
So, Pewdiepie was actually the person who got me into fitness. Rewatching this, his workouts are much lower intensity than I recall, but he definitely gets props for introducing me to the awesome world of fitness.
same
Fuck yeah! That's awesome! Good luck on your fitness journey!!
Is it because he made it relatable? I find most fitness 'influencers' make it look impossible
@@joe94c I would say probably. Even beginners wouldn't be introduced to this channel no matter how informative it is, simply because the information, even though accurate, can be hard to swallow.
I myself had to start out with zumba thinking it'd gain me any muscle. At the very least it built up my endurance and shedded some of my weight. Although I think because of that, it got me more into fitness, and eventually informative fitness. It can be a slowburn for people inexperienced, especially inexperienced people without much time for fitness, but if things turn out well and they continue their fitness journey, then they'll definitely improve.
@@joe94c I think it was mostly because he had a very similar body to mine. I also had very little muscle and felt like the fitness (or lifting/ bodybuilding/ strongman) space wasn't for people with a physique like mine. I already watched Felix's content quite avidly and seeing someone who resonated so much with me go through such a transformative process was incredible. It allowed me to see the real "before" - let's be honest, we don't get to see the real "before" from most influencers in the space. So yeah, in a way, he made it attainable. And as @user-wn3wv5bx5e said, there's not a huge influencer market for people looking to dip their toes in the space. "Beginner" in the fitness space, particularly the lifting space, typically translates to: "I've been lifting for a year or two and I'm looking for more focused techniques/regimens/ etc"..
Mike, maladec, I recently found your channel and your content already gave me a lot of different influence and feedback. Thx

I think Pewds has evolved a bit since this vid which is at least a couple years old. He's in Japan now and has a power rack, so think he does barbell movements and pullups now.
A lot of people are saying that so maybe if somebody can find the videos you can just put it in a comment and Scott will see it. I'm assuming this video is going to do the numbers

16:50 Fun fact: in Swedish, “leg” *is* actually both singular and plural. One “ben”, two “ben”…
Fun fact, ben is also a cousin word of the English word bone.
fun fact my cousins name is Ben
While we're on the topic of the strangeness that is Swedish, the word for married and poison is the same in Swedish: gift, pronounced "yift"
Furthermore, Swedish grammar is an absolute pain in the ass since there are almost as many exceptions as examples for every grammatical rule, if there is even a rule at all, as is the case with our version of a/an. There is literally no rule for it, but you WILL be viewed as a weirdo if you get it wrong.
@3dprinting: Actually, Swedish is one of the easiest languages in the world to learn because the grammar is very easy compared to others. This is the present tense of „walk“ im Swedish for example:
Jag går / Du går / Han går / Vi går / Ni går / De går
Compared to German:
Ich gehe / Du gehst / Er geht / Wir gehen / Ihr geht / Sie gehen
Could go on and on 🤓
@@Pile_of_carbonIn old english the gift/gif used to exist, up until they decided to borrow "mariage" from french.
But the gift/gift actually has a reason, germans.
"Gift" in the sense of poison was originally an euphemism, basically in the sense of "something malicious was gifted"
"Gift" in the sense of marriage is "gifted at a bride".
Just that both forms has been around for a bit more than a millenia.
This was today's random knowledge.

I’ve got to say. I found this channel a few weeks ago. Working out has always been so difficult for me and one of the reasons was it can be so overwhelming to figure out what to do and what works out which muscle. But your content is not only entertaining but also informative. You give objective analysis and just SAY what is good and what is bad. What is myth and what is reality. That demystified working out for me and now I’m on my third week in a row of doing 3-4 workouts a week. I’m already noticing some small muscle growth and I’ve made a workout tracker to keep me on track for the next six weeks. So thank you for helping me take the first REAL steps toward losing weight and getting healthy. Although I still have a long way to go and my goal is not to be big, just healthy, I’m more confident than I’ve ever been that I can do it. So thanks Dr. Mike. Truthfully.

Some context on the pewds.
The reason for the dumbbell only setup is cause Felix tries, to a point, to be minimalist. On top of that he was waiting to move to Japan, but borders were closed due to covid, so he didn't want to keep buying stuff when eventually he was going to move. Now that he has moved, his setup isn't much bigger, he has a bench, dumbbells and a power rack(?) for some barbell work and pull-ups.
For gfuel, it's probably his biggest sponsor and it's a powder energy (140mg caffeine*)(supplement, so big *). Usually it's pretty clear that he's joking when he makes inane claims, like you can't say "you will win 1 million dollars", but you can say "you might win 1 million dollars" and give away nothing, because then it's a statement of chance, not necessarily of a giveaway. So usually I expect he'd say "drink gfuel and you might get 10% muscle growth" while making a face that makes it pretty clear he's joking, or saying something before or after that shows he's about to or just made a joke. But honestly I watch him enough and turn off my brain when sponsors are mentioned so I wouldn't register it if he didn't do it. All the bias.
Either way, finally a workout reaction to someone I follow, so figured I'd chime in, haha.
I think there have been some studies of how caffeine can potentially help working out. Don't know how true it is though.
it boosts energy helping you work out more, that's basically it @@Tom-fl8eh

All I have are dumbbells but I have seen several of your videos and other pro techniques to guide myself in the right direction.
I saw the bent row exercise faults immediately.
nice to have Dr. Mike reinforce bio mechanical ques i have been teaching for decades
This is exactly what I needed! I only have a bench and dumbbells in my house and I wasn't sure if that was enough to build a sufficiently fit body. After watching this and taking in Dr. Mike's advice I'm more confident in it now. Thanks!!
I have the same setup, actually I bought it because I saw pewdiepies video a year ago. Can confirm you can absolutely build muscle with the setup
Ironically hypertrophy needs less equipment than increasing total strength. If your goal is to get the strongest possible legs the dumbells quickly run into a problem of being very annoying to rack for heavy ATG heel elevated front squats. Even from just the floor, the barbell ends up being easier to rack for this.
I've been working out for a year and I don't have access to a gym all the time. A pair of dumbbells is really all you need if you want to shape up your physique. Maybe as you get more advanced get a pull up bar and some resistance bands but beyond that you really don't need anything else. You don't even need a lot of weight on the dumbbells either. There are plenty of techniques and form changes you can do to make an exercise more difficult with the same weight.
Hell, plenty of people built really good-looking bodies with bodyweight exercises alone. "I don't have the equipment at home and the gyms are far away and expensive" is an excuse.
I just saw this guy on my recommendation and I already love him. The way he gets me caught off guard like that😂

Hammer Curls legit made my biceps get a peak. They were just huge log shaped .. I'm 6'7 so I have long arms. When I started to do hammers, the peak in the middle came out of no where and made my arms look so much better.
Your biceps just grew. Nothing to do with hammer curla.
I think hammer curls get the brachialis a little extra. And a thicker brachialis might make that peak show up
I've always heard basic curls with a pinch of external rotation to it target the distal head of the bicep for more peak development. Could be old school broscience that makes sense logically but not scientifically but something to consider. I can see my bicep split when i get to the end contracted range of motion on it.
I prefer hammer curls just for the alleged strength crossover for building up to one arm chinups.
@@justinbailey2347 So theoretically according to science, external or internal rotation at the elbow would bias the different heads of the biceps. In practice this is so negligable that it would only matter and be seen if you've got Lee Priests arms and stage bodybuilding condition. You cannot specifically build up the peak, only make your arms bigger and even then some humungous bis with long insertions might still not have a peak.
Love this and I know it's not going to happen but ide love a Dr mike twitch stream on twitch could be fun
