Been waiting on a no date for over a year now it’s been so confusing because even back 9 months ago the AD was telling me “any day now” or “I’m next” and here we are a year later
@@WatcheswithDennis yeah I’ve gotten told from my ad “usually this doesn’t take too long”. I have been told that sub dates are more popular and there are much more produced therefore a standard sub can be harder to come by. Who knows man I hope you get yours soon!
I got my Submariner at my Rolex AD’s Christmas 🎄 party. That was a few years ago and they never called for the Explorer II polar. I have 24 watches (including 4 Casio’s) and I’m looking to cut my collection in half 😎!
God knows Dennis. After a very brief and painful visit to Rolex in Bristol, I can't understand why their prospective customers continue to jump through hoops. For sure, if I had walked into a Rolls Royce dealership dressed like a third world refugee, the reception would have been far more welcoming.
I've not been treated badly per say, just if the watches are really that common and the market is a cool as it looks to be then at this point I honestly thought they'd be trying to unload Subs to make sales not sit there waiting for someone to come in and buy a Tag from them first.
What to do about having too many watches? As soon as I figure it out, I'll let you know. My problem is coming to the realization that if I sell said watch, I'll never be able to buy it back for that price. And what if I miss it? I don't need regrets in my hobbies, life provides enough of those. Anyways most of mine are pretty affordable in the $300 to $1500 range, its not like a ton of money is tied up. Oh PS I forgot to mention this, I've been to the AD a few times recently to service a Pelagos the lume was falling out of the bezel on and to look at the BB54 and new Aquis', bought some jewellery, and they are being very friendly. I think business is not doing good, if you want that Sub, go get it. They probably just forgot about you.
I've thought about it. Case-wise I can have 24. But gifts and such complicate matters. I have a few watches (four) that I plan to keep regardless of wearing. In a way it may be best to not count them at all but they take up space so they do get counted. But setting some sort of exchange rule might be my best course of action.
Collectors collect, and I understand your justified refusal to play the "game" with AD's and maybe you're trying to also figure out how a sub fits into your lifestyle now.
Working it in can be done by removing some other sports watches. It is hard to feel pressure for a watch that is always available second hand in the hundreds of units at any given moment.
I like the speedmaster, but I don't love it. But don't ever say that to an Omega fan, they'll lynch you for suggesting it is anything less than the best watch ever made.
Thanks, I will take a look. The sound was off (I separately record sound with a proper mic so that wasn't a big deal but might be a sign of other issues).
Downloaded a different recorder from Logitech for the webcam. I'll try it out next time rather than the built-in windows thing. Thanks again for letting me know!
@@WatcheswithDennis I find OBS is able to get an uncompressed stream from the webcam. What it looks like to me, is its using the built in $0.50 encoder on the webcam itself.
@@aussieexpatwatches thanks. I do have OBS (used to stream pinball) though I may also just jump to another standalone camera I used to use. Just figured for 1080p videos it would be faster with the webcam (I shoot the reviews in 4K but no one cares if my face is 4K).
The look doesn't evolve much by design which is the appeal to many. But I totally concur there are better dive watches (off all sorts of measures like depth, finishing, etc.).

I’ve waited almost 2 years for a Rolex Sub. Why does Rolex hate me. 😂
The only logical answer is they just hate money!
@@WatcheswithDennis Nailed it 😁

I went to my AD last week. Still the same. They note it is not like a halo piece notoriously hard to get but they still do not have one for me.

The volume is starting to concern me especially since I want more watches. I am logging what I wear to have some good, objective data.

But I thought I was unforgettable!
Great video! Regarding the collection, maybe it’s time to implement the “one watch in one watch out” method if you’re worried about having too many

Unbelievable. My friend got a Sub Date in Vegas at an AD on vacation. He went in and inquired. They gave him a call the next morning.
Glad he had an smooth transaction! To be fair I am hearing Sub Date has been faster for folks than no-Date.
@@WatcheswithDennisit might depend where, I got mine in under a week after turning down a DJ 41 fluted jubilee Roman that I waited three years to get.

Rolex has done alot of damage to the brand with these "waitlists". Most folks have moved on to other brands
I think that is why they are building the new factories but they are years out still. It will be interesting to see the long term impact.

True, I already got one grumpy comment.
There's something going on with your compression / workflow for your video. Despite being 1080p, it's far worse than DVD quality.

Lol bought a 14060m in 2008 with a 15% discount 😂
Got my 16570 back around then. Barely used. No one wanted them. A different time.
Just buy a pre-owned online, there's thousands out there and you'd have it in 48 hrs.🤷♂
Still a few thousand over retail and I am not that interested in it to pay the premium.
Rolex's Subby is looking really dated these days. So many other high quality divers out there

Sell the watches and get going to the AD
I don't know, they could get me into a 1921...
So basically you don't like the Speedmaster because you're shallow and only follow the crowd.
The crowd loves the Speedmaster so this doesn't make sense to me.
