Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Alan.
This batch 9 will definately be enjoyed by a lot of sherry and red wine matured whiskies...
...therefore I'm happy to leave it for them.
Slàinte mhath
Interesting to leave the cork out for a few days to let it open up faster. I learn a lot from your channel Alan, thank you mate!
I do not do this with all whiskies Wade just the uptight ones... Also decant half the bottle and leave 2 weeks then marry them back together that sometimes helps to... Thanks for watching my friend... Cheers
Missed this video when it came out! I just ordered this. I now have batch 6 on the go, 7 and 8 waiting in line, and 9 on the way. Interesting to hear the differences in this one.
Ive had the 5 and 7 batches and loved both.
It's a wee bit hotter than previous batches Sandy.. Defo water needed in this one fella..
Alan…I literally just had this shipped across the pond to the USofA!!! Opened it but haven’t sipped yet…after hearing your experience I’ll let it sit 2 weeks before I try it!!
Great Vid as always!!🎉
Thanks 🙏 Alan. Well done 👍 ciao S.
They still have a few batch 7s on the shelf is all, in the chicago area. It's a 100 bucks! Too much for that one i think.
Nice one Alan! These CS batch variations are a bit annoying but also entertaining if that makes sense. Always a fun experiment to compare the batches but it sounds like this is a shy one. Hopefully it'll open up for you even more. Cheers!
I don't mind the batch variations as it would get boring otherwise as long as the whisky is good... Cheets fella
It’s a bit hot as Alan said, and it can swim for sure. I generally do 50 ml pours and add 10 ml water to this whisky (still only puts it around 49% ABV?). Loads of flavor and the heat’s gone. Really like batch 8 & 9. Also 4 & 5.
@@utoobia Nice info thanks, I'll keep that ratio in mind. I'm not a massive Glenallachie drinker so I'm not super aware of batch variations unless I do side by side but they are generally decent in my opinion. Cheers!
Maybe this is one for me to try, when I come to visit 😉🥃
Your very welcome fella...
Whilst I enjoy your reviews (thumbs up), I'm not a Glenallachie fan. There's certainly nothing wrong with it, it's over-hyped & hence why its not flying off the shelves. Just my opinion.
Im not GA fan and sherry in general as well. Dont like 12yo, 8 is ok and this CS batch 9 is 1st i tried and is fantastic. Surprised myself how its good. Drinking it with no water added. Recommend you give it try. 100% worth 👍😁🥂🙋🏻♂️
Too much virgin oak?? Masking younger average stock now?
Just had a guy in the comments...bought for the first time...loves it...i thought this would be the case... if you gave been buying them regular then you might just have had enough and would welcome a switch up...cheers for watchin....
