Well thank you for you kind words my friend, glad your enjoying the channel and remember to spread the word....
Craigellachie 13 / Bunna 12 / Thamdu 12 / Ledaig 10 / Arran 10 / Ardbeg 10 / PC 10 - Blend: Nikka from the barrel - Irish: The Tyrconnel 10 Madeira - Bourbon: Wild Turkey 101 - Rye: Templeton rye 6y (this is my list but many items I haven't tasted yet (kilkerran 12) or are not in the collection yet.. so there will be something to taste or buy) Congratulations on the channel - one of my favorites - keep it up.
Finally opened the Bunnahabhain 12 yr CS; I now understand your enthusiasm. It is so smooth; my thinking was with an abv of 56.6% I was going to get a really big alcohol kick like some other high abv whiskey's I've tried; not so. What an enjoyable dram; I have experimented with adding water (drop by drop) to see if it enhances the experience. While certainly changing the flavor/experience, I must say that for me I prefer it neat!! Alan, thank you again for introducing me to a wonderful experience.
Fantastic...glad you got to try it...Next piece of advice...buy another because your gonna go through that bottle so fast my friend....
Thank you Alan, that was a fun review with some great insights - much appreciated!
Glad you enjoyed it Michael... There all wonderful whiskies my friend
Many thanks for the review; decided to try two of your recommendations based on the enthusiasm. Had to order from Edinburgh, so with shipping to the US they were a wee bit expensive. But after opening the Thompson Bros., no regrets; what a treat. If I had deep pockets, I'd certainly order six more for backup. Have not yet opened the Bunnahabhain, I already have the standard 12 year and really enjoy it, so certainly looking forward to the 12 year cask strength. Will let you know. Fortunately for me, I was able to get the Speyburn 15yr locally, also enjoyable. Again, thanks for your reviews - keep it up!!
Fantastic my friend... Let me know how that bunna Cs goes down... I think it's rather special.... Slainte...
My daughter in Manchester got me a bottle of the Bunnahabhain 12yo CS, but I have to wait until winter, when she comes home to Sweden to visit....really looking forward to it 🥂
Oh my goodness you are in for such an experience when that bottle arrives my friend... My new bottle of WOW.... Cheers for dropping by....
Very useful video mate, I really enjoy your content . Keep going! 👌🏻
Cheers Gerjan... Hope it helps and thanks for your kind words my friend...
Great list & video Alan, as usual. Not tried any of them which made it even more interesting! Like you say, so much good stuff out there mate.
You have a lot of good whisky to search out Jez.. Cheers buddy
Another great video Alan.
Cheers Peter we nearly dropped in to your place on the way home from Islay fella but all knackered... Next time fella...
Great list Alan. I absolutely agree on the Bunna 12. I recently got a back up bottle. Speyburn 15 is on my bar as well.
The bunna is the new bottle of WOW my friend...
The Bunna 12 is fantastic my joint whisky of the year with Glen Scotia festival edition 2022. I got a couple of shouts for you. Kilchoman Sanaig, my fav whisky I’ve tried this year. Also the value end of Glen Scotia are worth a shout too Alan. And Campbeltown Loch.
Once again…it pays to be The Whisky Friend!!!🎉
Great Vid again Alan!
Aw cheers Chaz it means a lot my friend....
In Sweden, in addition to the Kilkerran 12, Bunnahabhain 12, Ledaig 10 etc that you mentioned I would add Craigellachie 13, Deanston 15 organic, Loch Lomond 15, Kilchoman Sanaig, Arran sherry cask and the Port Charlotte 10 heavily peated. The PC 10 is a bit more expensive but worth it imo.
All great... We are so lucky to have so much great whisky.... Cheers for dropping in my friend...
Its funny, as my last Master of Malt order was for 2 of their own bottlings and Thompson Brothers blended malt. Three very nice drams, and excellent value. One MoM bottling was their 13yo grain whisky, whilst the other was an 11yo Linkwood.
All fantastic bottles sir I almost I clouded the linkwood 11...think I mentioned it on the video.... But wanted to keep the video to 5 bottle... All great whiskies... Cheers for dropping by my friend...
Awesome list Alan, brilliant addind the IB s there as most people would skip them in these lists and stick to the distillery versions but those MoM s sound great!
Deanston 10 Bordeaux for is a fantastic bang for buck but only if you get it from the airports as at duty free they go fo 37£ where as in the market it's around 65! Cheers my friend, great video once again 🥃
Cheers buddy... There really is so much great affordable whisky out there...
Good video Alan, still think those Benromach CS bottles are good value, as the Benromach peat smoke is as well, I love the stuff. Slàinte Alan
Agreed David.... Cheers buddy....
Alan, that's an eclectic 5. Agreed on the Bunna 12 CS. And enjoying a Benromach CS (10 year?).
all bangers DJ ...so much good stuff out there my friend...
My favorite liquor store had a sale on the Speyburn 15 at $40 a bottle. I bought 3 bottles and they sold out.
So greedy... I love it fella....
Interesting list, Alan. Thanks for sharing .
Not much to add. And if I would, it would be that I personally would prefer bourbon matured whiskies over sherry matured, but that's taste.
Slàinte mhath
Sometimes I feel the same. Bourbon cask or refill casks at older ages.
Enough said Frank thanks for dropping in my friend....
Great choices for sure. What happened to the old shed Alan ?
The shed is still there Andre... I may do a few videos from there throughout the summer... Cheers fella
My favourite at the minute is Bunnahabhain 12 cask strength, it’s amazing………
It's a bottle of WOW Alfie...
I keep telling people... my best bang for buck is the Ancnoc 24
They have increased their prices now.
Too dear now as Peter says my friend... Still great whisky though...
Payed 84,90€ for my Bunna 12 CS 2022 in Germany, but only got that price in a bundle with the regular 12yo :p
That's a great price sir... How was it.... Let me guess... WOW.... cheers Carsten
Rare breed is £55 and will blow your socks off.
I agree with you. The best bourbon around. Great value.
Yes it is half the price of Bunna 12 here.
RB is awesome buddy I have a bottle on the go and another in the bunker.... Cheers for dropping in my friend
@@jasonwest9425 absolutely RB is great stuff love it, great flavour.
But I will also vouch for the Bunna 12 Cask Strength 2022, it’s amazing. Even though it’s £74 it’s worth every penny. The 2023 will probably be £90 and I’ll still buy it. If 2024 goes over £100 maybe time to stop.
how is the blended malt, single cask? Did they blend in a cask?
Sorry buddy did I say single cask..
Must have got excited and carried away.... Cheers for dropping in my friend...
That Old Particular is a cracker!
Hey Sandy I need to crack it soon fella... Hope your well, you going to the GWF in November?
@@thewhiskyfriend I haven’t got a ticket. Just back from Limburg which I thoroughly enjoyed
Bunna €112,- here
