Great list. Don’t think there are everywhere just yet but are showing up by me a lot are $30 Coopers Craft 100, $40 Redwood Empire, $50 New Riff. Oh ya and Russell’s 10yr!
Great list. JTS, Knob9, Rare Breed, and 1920 are definitely some of the best values in Bourbon, I also might add OGD114 and 4RSelect. Would love to see a follow up Rye version of your list. Cheers!
Oh yeah OGD 114 👍
RRSB is still around $60 here in Wisconsin. Knob Creek single Barrels as well. RR 10 year runs around 40, Bulleit Barrel Strength is under 40 & packs a bunch of flavors. I think if we’re getting close to the $100 range I can only suggest Barrel craft spirits picks or Barrel Vantage, which runs around 80. Great list cheers 🥃
Four roses single barrel 100 proof. Always on shelf between 40-50 bucks
I've seen the JTS a few times but it's far from common and the early times and benchmark aren't available in MN. At all. But imo your list is missing 1792 / michters /Russell's Reserve/new riff
I would add 1783 to the $20 list and Lost Monarch to the $30 list.
Absolutely, Lost Monarch is great IMO.
JD BBP is super hard to find in the Atlanta market. Was looking to grab the Rye and Whiskey, but that's over a year. As soon as they hut the market, gone in a day. Can grab the single barrel all day (black label).
In my area the JTS Brown is in a plastic half gallon and I won’t but whiskey in a plastic bottle not even WT 101 just me. And for the hundred dollars range Calumet is pretty solid and around me it’s in every store. Great list. Enjoy!!
I was surprised that Russel’s Reserve 10 didn’t show up in the 35-45$ range. I can always find a bottle when I need a new one on the shelf and it has been a unanimous winner when I have done a blind taste test with friends. Maybe because it was considered a small batch? Enjoyed the list! Thanks!
Barrell is good and findable at around $80. That’s also store pick range if you have a good local shop. Pursuit is easy to find online if your state allows shipping. Haven’t opened my 2XO yet but they get good reviews and are $100.
I would replace the Wild Turkey 101 with Old Grand-Dad 100 proof, or the OGD 114 if you like higher proof. The 101 has a cinnamon finish, while the OGD has more of a nutty and citrus taste, to me. How I feel the next several hours and the next morning is better with the OGD, like Brewzle I think the bottled in bonds prevent monkey business to save money, and 100 proof is a good compromise for more flavor and less heat.
Larceny and Elijah Craig Barrel Proofs need to be included in that $70-$80 range. Big hitters for sure.
1:54 The best way to avoid a hangover is to not get drunk. 🙂
2:38 I have never seen a single one of those.
3:40 The 101 is good whisky - it's worth more than the price.
4:31 Ditto.
7:15 Knob Creek 9 is my second favorite whiskey. It's delicious, I like the 100 proof, and it's both affordable and available. And the single barrel is *fantastic* , for like $60 (I have a store pick that was $57, and worth more).
I have been hearing good things about the Benchmark line. Unfortunately all we have in Michigan is the 8
Great list! I recently drank the Green River lineup, and I'm a fan. Definitely worth adding to the shelf in that $35 price range.
Couldn't agree more ... our taste palates are very similar anyway (which I guess is why I watch your channel), but you've hit all the bourbons I recommend to friends who've decided to dive in. I also totally agree with the cost philosophy ... I'd rather buy a Rare Breed and a JD Single Barrel Barrel Proof and enjoy two bottles for the price of one of the higher cost bottles you could name. Does it mean I'm missing out? Possibly, but I'm still enjoying some pretty dang great pours.
Great list! Benchmark SiB, KC9, and JDSBBP are 3 of my favorites!
No love for 1792 SB at the 25-30 range? It's on every shelf and it's amazing for the money, for me it's up there with WT 101. I think you like proof-y-er, spicy-er stuff than I do.
Before I watched this (and after hearing your exclusions), I was thinking in my head: if there is a Wild Turkey, Knob Creek, Four Roses, or Old Forester in that price range, then THAT is the bottle YOU should buy! Exceptions for Elijah Craig and Larceny, of course.
EW BiB is my $20 daily drinker. JD BiB and KC 9 year are my go to 35-40 bottles. The JD SBBP are excellent and I always have one around.
What are your thoughts on Barrel bourbon? I personally have liked the ones I’ve tried and they could fit nicely in at the $100 range.
I'm a big fan of Barrell Vantage which is usually around $75.
Spot on 👏🏻 I’ve never owned any Bardstown because of their prices. I can’t find the JD single barrel/barrel proof here in western Kentucky. Imagine that! But my daughter lives in southeast Ohio and she helps me keep a bottle of it handy. Excellent juice 🎉
here in North West SC JD Single Barrel is available pretty much all the time at around $60
Great recommendations! Thank you. I’m new to bourbon and have tried several of these. Absolutely love WT Rare Breed and the Jack Daniels SBBP!
When I get to splurge it's a bottle of Wilderness trail or Barrell
Barrel bourbon batches are pretty solid for that almost 100 price range
15 bucks for Very Old Bartons. Delicious.
I can get Knob Creek 9 at Total Wine in Wisconsin for $30.00. Great whiskey for sure.
That KC9 120 Proof is great at $60 is about as good at the 1920 both great!
None of those first 3 available here in south Louisiana.
OGD 114 and either woodford double oaked or 1910 should be on this list. Also Benchmark Top Floor would be a good sub $20 choice.
In the hundred range I'd mention both Barrel, and the double oaked Peerless bourbons, especially store picks.
Good pics sir !! Have most of them. GOOD juice!!!
Knob creek 9 is $30 or less in my area. Super great!
I agree I love knob creek nine year 100 proof. It Hass to be one of the best in that price range.
W/T Rare Breed beats out a lot of Bourbons that I have spent 3 to 4 times it price.
Thanks for the video. Those are all excellent choices.
Coopers Craft 100
Absolutely agree best $30-40 without question haha
Solid list. Would add Makers Mark 46 to readily available
Green River! Very nice for the price!
Great list
I don’t see it discussed a lot, but Chattanooga 111 deserves to be considered for anybody’s $40 category. Delicious bottle.
Bam!! Down n dirty, straight to the point, Great Job !!!
Great list and breakdown of each price range
Bakers 7 in the $60/70 range is quite lovely. Can't often find it here in NC.
Maker's Mark Full Proof under $50 is also delicious
Great list big daddy
Cooper's Craft 100 is a awesome bottle
i'm not a Bourbon expert, But I know what I like,,, That Wild Turkey 101 is the best I have ever found!
Yes any store pick of 4 Roses gets my money every time.
Jd single barrel barrel proof is so hot to me. I think i wasted 65 bucks
I wasn't a big fan either but I paid $75! Thankfully I have friends that are so they get to enjoy it at my house and I get to drink their good stuff when I'm over at their's.
Hey Robert, if it’s too hot on a particular night try pouring it over a little ice. I love it neat and have several bottles in the 134 range but sometimes it might need to be iced. Sooo flavorful though!
Calumet 16 at $134
Awesome job brotha!
You can still find Blue Run Reflection 1 for that $90 to $100
Rare breed is great! Price in Colorado keeps going up! Rye keeps going up faster
Between $76-$100, for something that is likely on shelves - Barrell.
i like the Rare Breed rye better than the bourbon. same for thr 101.
You left out Cooper’s Craft 100. 👊🏽🥃
Go Green River. The new single barrel Green River is excellent.
First! Cheers from Sweden 🇸🇪
Love this channel
You gotta do $10 range and $15 range. There's gotta be a bottle or two that is solid.
Hey!
What do you guys plan on doing this Saturday for the allocated drop?
Will you record it. That's some of my favorite bourbon RUclips content.
20$ Rebel 100
You can't have Under $20 category without Evan Williams White Label!
No Barrell?
Rebel 10 100 bucks becoming more available
is Early Times BiB a buy at $40?, i just seen it in my state for the first time.
LMAO not a single one of your 20 dollar range is available in my State. So much for picking three.
101 up to $30 here...
video hasn’t started yet, going ahead and calling john j bowman. will be surprised if it’s not on here
Of 120 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Kc 115 proof is better then the 100 proof
