Every batch we create of our 10-year-old Cask Strength represents the direction in which we are taking The GlenAllachie,” Master Distiller, Billy Walker. The ninth iteration of our coveted decade-old batch release is no different, showcasing the richness and complexities of our honeyed spirit after maturation in the finest oak.Guided by 50 years of experience and fuelled by his passion for wood management, Billy crafted Batch 9 with perfection in mind. A marriage of spirit from Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherry casks, along with Rioja barriques and medium charred/medium toasted American Virgin Oak barrels

I love glenallachie and the 10year old is fantastic. I have both batch 8 and 9 and I have to say that batch 8 is alittle better for me. But not much. I also have glenallachie 12 and 15 aswell and both are fantastic. Great value whisky. Good video as always and cheers from sweden. 😊

HaHa Gert. I dont know is this perfection? But i know your review is perfection. I mean perfect time for me. Im not GA fan. Tried 12yo and 8yo and must say 12yo same as Glendronach 12yo is not my piece of cake but 8ys was enjoyable. Because is so much hype around 10yo CS batches i have ocasion to buy sample so i decided get one and see what this hype is about. I bought batch nr9 and my sample stayed unopened waiting for...your review looks like 😅. Now im just back from work so im drinking coffee but later on i pour wee dram and let see i like it. 🤞😁🥂🙋🏻‍♂️

The 12 and the 10 have both evolved over the years, into darker more sherried. Sure, a newer 12 will be similar to Glendronach.

Nice review! To me, Glenallachie is a very trustworthy distillery, I've never been dissapointed, so far. Regarding the 10yo CS, I've had Batch 4,5,6 and 7. I still got an unopened Batch 5 in a dark corner somewhere, to enjoy later on. 4 batches and 4 quite different whiskies, all of them are really good in thier own way. After batch 7 I think the price jumped up quite a bit, so I haven't the later ones, found so many other whiskies with great value. But it seems like the price has leveled out at the moment, atleast on my market, maybe it's time to give the latest batch a try, batch 11, with that new label, I've only heard good things about that one. In today's currency it's sek969 (€86), alittle bit on the higher end, atleast in my own currency, the Swedish krona is really weak at this moment in time, sorry to say. Out of pure curiosity, what's the price tag of Batch 11 on your market? By the way, I just cracked the quite new 9yo Amontillado Finish open, and it's a relly nice treat. Cheers!

@@bluesmanen1 appreciate your kind words and agree that they do make some great whisky. They are cranking out the different expressions. Have not tried the new label ones, but I am sure it will be all good.

An excellent sampling of a great CS Glenallachie 10 yo Gert. B9 has had some very positive reviews. I have B6 & B8. I found B8 to be better than B6. I will look for B9 and maybe get myself a bottle. Cheers mate!

So far I've only tried Batch 6, which was all right, but I didn't crave a bottle. Hopefully you are right that each batch is better than the last and I will enjoy it more next time...

There seems to be a big difference. This one is definitely the best for my taste preference. If you don’t like big sherry sweet notes then it’s definitely not for you. Cheers.

@@WhiskyLoversSociety My notes for Batch 6 suggest that was a bit 'dirty' (like some Ben Nevis or Benrinnes) on the nose and drank a bit 'hot', but with a 'jammy' finish...

Hello again Gert 😁 just finished session with your video and this beauty in my glass. What can i say? Its lovely dram! Im glad i bought this one. Its big surprise how much i like it. I can even say: i love it. This batch is perfect...to my taste. I think because more influence of oloroso casks and probably Rioja bariques. Its remind me ledaig Rioja series in terms of taste/flavours without peat of course. Sweetnes is perfect for my test and it is so mellow for me that i drink it as 46% abv. No water needed in my opinion. With water is just more sweet but less robust by losing power. Good quality of casks used for this batch made woodines is noticeable but in good way in my opinion. Finnish is medium to long very nice and warming so moreish. You really need another sip. Definitely go for full bottle. 👍😁🥂 slàinte Gert 🙋🏻‍♂️

Indeed a nice sipper. Now I have this need to try some more. The entire range comparison you’d be nice. Already working on the next Glenallachie. Also an interesting one with a cask twist. Cheers
