- In this video I show you everything you need to know about the Nux Mg 300 Expression Pedal. This is one of the most powerful features of the MG-300 as it goes far beyond just working as a standard Wah and Volume Expression Pedal. This pedal can be assigned to nearly any module within a preset. You can assign it to the Level of the Amp, the Mix of the Delay or Reverb, the Pitch parameter of the Harmonizer. And you can do this without a computer. It really turns the MG-300 into a pro piece of gear.

@@user-jd6rd8cq7k I don't recall an auto wah. Yes you can turn off the amp and cab sim if you want to use it on a pedalboard.

I bought mg300 today . And I'm trying to activate the wah pedal, but I'm not done yet. I pushed it slightly hard, but nothings happen. How hard should I push it? I'm just afraid it will broke the pedal..
Can you set the pitch bender to just tune down a half step or full step? When I'm learning songs that are tuned down I want something quick so I don't have to tune my guitar.
Please make a pitch shifter preset like tom Morello with this nux mg 300🙏
It does have a whammy already but not with enough range a la Morello. I’m sure they have this on their list to improve.

I only recently got my MG-300, and on mine, after holding edit/exit and save, then using the group module buttons to navigate to the pedal option, I have to press save to get to the calibration, and edit/exit just exits them menu. I don't know yet if this is the same for other menu options.

Can I set the Min to half volume and the Max to full volume? I want to boost the volume on guitar solos without using gain
Can this be directly connected to a phone as an audio interface, im currently using the mg 30 and i can directly connect to my phone and use it as in interface using a cable adapter. I wonder if that can be done with this? Please help🙏
I was happy with the MG 300 before but seeing this video makes me want to experiment more and more. I also have a BOSS ME-80 which is real fun to play with. The only problem is I also have the Katana MK II 100w head w/ 5 " speaker and home made cabinet with two 12' jbls =, two 4.5" All arounds. And two 4 " piezo tweeters. SO my amp pretty much does many of the things the effects pedals can do, however they will both work compatible with the amp at two different levels in the effects chain. Got a lot to play with.

I have a question.
Is it possible to assign exp pedal to more detailed parameters? I mean, Can I assign exp pedal to a [gain control] knob of AMP section? or Can I assign exp pedal to some specific parameters in EQ? And is it possible to assign exp pedal to several parameters at once in one preset?
I have this pedal, and the answer is no, the exp pedal can only be mapped on the volume of said parameters, basically "how loud do you want Modulation to be" etc, it's not that detailed tbh and no, there's no parameter for the EQ, and no you can only map one parameter in a preset.
How many octaves does the pitch bender have? Looking for 2 octaves up for the Tom Morello whammy

You can't actually call it a manual, it contains almost nothing

Very useful info. Thanks! Most Multi effects units plugged into the front of an Amp don't sound good. But they sound great if you use an FRFR Amp/powered speaker. Where does the MG 300 stand?

Great video! I just got mine today and I calibrated the expression pedal, but I'm having a problem. I pick the string or play a chord their's a half second delay with the sound coming out. I don't have the delay on at all and it sounds that way on every preset I try. Is their a way I can fix that or is the unit bad?

You don't need to upgrade the firmware to get into the calibrate screen. I did a video on this very subject. Check my MG300 playlist.

Thanks for the sub! Haven't used the GT1 so I couldn't tell you. The MG-300 has a Dual Rec included already, but I found that I liked the Diezel emulation even better

Hey cool vid. I noticed that when you used the whammy, pushing the expression pedal all the way down didn't result in a whole octave drop - it was slightly off. Is that something that is consistent whenever you use it? I've seen a few people talk about issues with the pedal working 100% correctly, so just doing some research before I take the plunge and get one.
Thanks. That probably had more to do with not calibrating the pedal properly to my hand strength.

ok what if I am not going to record anything at the moment. Considering I have no DAW. Can I simply plug nux somehow to my PC and hear the sound of what I play? Looking for some trick that allows me to enjoy full nux simulations (amps,cabs,,efxs etc) but bypassing my combo and not buying frfr..
I don't understand the question. You don't need to use a computer at all to enjoy the sounds of the MG-300. Just connect your guitar and use a pair of headphone.
@@ThePedalGuy Neither I want to use my combo nor headphones. I want to enjoy amp,efx and cabs from Nux. So I wonder if I can plug Nux to my pc somehow to pc sound card so I could hear what I play through pc active speakers.
I am afraid that connecting Nux into combo front I would be missing either Nux amps or Nux cabs simulation functionality..

Can you use the expression pedal to do ambient volume swells?
Sure. You should be able to do that just fine.
@@ThePedalGuy nah im sorry, I'm mainly asking this since most expression pedals that controls volume, only control the volume of the amp and not the guitar, so when you put heavy reverb and delay on it, and try to do volume swells the trails of the reverb and delay aren't left off.
Is it possible to create a freezer effect with a reverb and the expression pedal? Thanks

Hi. Unfortunately, no not at this point. It might be addressed in a future firmware update, but I would bet that it will be found on the upcoming MG-30 when that arrives.
I wish there is a sustainiac pedal on mg300🙏🙏🙏 it must be fun...

I am pressing pretty hard to activate the pedal but it doesnt work here. Should i press harder or something?
The on/off on the expression pedal is pressure sensitive so you do need to press down with your foot and it should feel fine. Takes a bit more work with your hands but if you are still having issues try calibrating it

I believe it's only one octave at the moment.

Well, it's a whammy and they are known for that type of digital artifact.
@@ThePedalGuy oh so like when i try to play like a triad it just doesnt work with this pitch shifter? I can only play one note without i being a warbly mess that turns into a diff pitch

How is the wah wah kept active? because when I press the BYPASS to change the Presets the WHA WHA turns off

Hi, very useful video but I'm semi-regretting purchasing this because I read that the 2 on-board foot switches can't be use to store preset effects? So it can't really be used in a jam session where I might want to have distortion on one foot switch and chorus on another? Is that correct?
That’s correct. If that’s what you’re after you might give the mg400 or mg30 a look
For me, this Pedal button does not work, I press it strongly and it does not illuminate after calibration
I would contact NuX to see if they can help.
@@ThePedalGuy I have already dealt with this problem. the cable that connects to the PC was to blame. I connected the cable to charging the phone instead of connecting and transferring files and data. Everything works as it should.

When it comes to the EFX block, the Exp pedal Controls GAIN (DRIVE) parameter of OD/DIST. Or controls PITCH parameter of PITCH BENDER.

Hi. Couple of questions. 1. Did you calibrate the pedal. 2. Are you using the latest firmware? 3. When you have the pedal assigned to anything other than Wah is the "Pedal" light on?
In case it helps I found out :
You need to activate the expression on/off the pedal by pressing it on toe area :)

@@KevinTPLim kind of, I just gradually pitched it down until it was a half step, but there's no option to do it faster. I would recommend to save the preset so that you don't have to do it everytime
