Hi, can you make a tutorial of how you made that ambient tone in the beginning? I would like to try it for our worship service. Great sounds by the way.
Hello nice Videos i subd;). Torn between 2 multieffect units One Question: What about nux mg300 compare to the boss gt1??? Tone wise and quality of the effects? A good Rectifier would be nice!
Hey! That’s a really tough choice. I’ve not messed with the GT1, but I have played the GT1000, which is supposedly the same sound engine. I was very impressed with the sound quality. The MG300 is impressive for its size and price. Both sound good. It just comes down to what features are more important to you. Thanks for subscribing!
Great video Ty..So, I was wondering, say you were using your chorus sounding preset and you'd like to call up your Solo preset for a quick solo break and back to the main chorus preset, can you accomplish that easily via the foot switches?
Thanks! You just just need to press the foot switch however many times to the next preset. For example, if you’re on preset 2 and you want to jump to preset 5 real fast, you would need to hit the bank up three times. You would then need to quickly hit the bank down three more times to get back to preset 2. Not ideal, but hard to complain at the price point. Hope that helps!
i just have it and i like it! nice analog sound emulation! sadly... mine explodes on a sudden WOOOSSSHHHHH it's just too loud it could affect my hearing and that really sucks... such a boomer...
Thanks! I would run all modulation and reverb/delay pedals after the unit. If it’s a mono pedal, just come out of the mg300 output into the pedal and so on. If you want to use stereo effects, use a stereo to two mono cable and go out of the headphone jack of the mg300 into the stereo pedal. Additionally, I’d run drives, boost, comps, etc before the unit. Hope that helps!
Great video ! Any suggestions for alternatives to this that sound better? Hopefully something that allows you to select multiple tones without having to press up/down multiple times?
What do you think of the Boss GT1, especially the amps and cabs. Sorry if that’s a little off topic but that’s my current choice, the one against which I am evaluating options. Thanks.
I haven’t had much experience with the GT1 apart from a couple plays at the guitar center. Boss might have a little more stability on the software, but the NUX has a lot of value for the price.
I wish there was a good acoustic emulation. It’s the only sound missing from the pedal. Maybe also a bass emulator. Looks like the new NUX 30 will have that covered. I agree on the PC software and connection issues. Win10 is iffy when loading new patches. Can get one to two in before it freezes when locating the patch in Explorer. Otherwise the software works well when building and altering patches. Will play with it at home before replacing my pedalboard at church. Biggest concern with these units is pressing the wrong patch with a higher gain or volume setting. Ouch. First task was to balance out each patch with a sound level DB meter to my Deluxe Reverb. The problem I encountered was that the factory patch just before the first user patch cannot be saved once you lower the volume. Again, ouch. Too loud and unavoidable. So all my gigging user patches start at 2A not 1A. Wonder if all these units are the same?
I haven’t really experienced level issues, but I tend to build the patches with slight level adjustments based on the sound I’m going for. Thanks for the feedback!
Hello sir, how to open your patches files? every time i unzip it, it always lead me to google chrome and instantly download it. I hope you can help me thanks
Very good demo. Thanks for putting it together. Is there much lag when you change presets with the two footswitches? Can you set a master level for each preset, or is that done with the amp being modeled in each preset?
@@tycaskey I'm looking for some affordable unit for my home practice so I might buy it but waiting for some reviews to be dropped on March the 5th. I hope you will get this one for testing. Your ambient intro was pretty sweet, I'd love to see you doing some magic with the new model ;)
Hi, great video! I don't have an amp ( can not afford it lol) Can I use Nux mg300 as a soundcard then have output as headphones or speakers to listen to the guitar sound? If it works, does it sound good compared to having amp as output?
Hey! Yes definitely. This unit is designed for direct recording/monitoring. You will get a better direct tone than using just the headphone out of an amp.

Hey Ty, I tried Boss Me25, Gt1...MG300 sounds not bad actually. The only thing i want to ask, can this MG300 use in live performance ( mini hall/ small bar ). Your video is very clear and easy to understand makes me want to get it today. May God bless us all. Cheers!!
Hey! You can use it live, but it’s pretty limited. You will not be able to turn on/off effects with a foot switch. You can only do patch changes like I show in the video. Hope that helps!
Hi Ty, I have an Interest in the Nux Mg300 as an Interface, and for backing tracks, can the 300 store backing tracks with the Manager software like the Nux JTC looper does, where you can take a 24 bit Wav file and convert it to a Nux file then save it in the pedal ?
Thanks! I actually did both. For the intro play through, I came out of the headphone jack into the interface. For the screen shot, I had it interfaced in via usb. I find that it’s a bit more stable running out of the headphone jack,.
@@bagasadinurcholish3854 I did not notice a difference in tone between to the two. That said, you’ll have to use the headphone jack with a stereo splitter cable to run stereo if you’re not interfacing in.

I dont know if the cables are for charging only or can transmit data. My phone is now USB C so I cannot use that to test them. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
I got it but for some reason I have this ear-piercing trebly, thin sound that makes it almost unplayable no matter how much EQ I do. I do have the nux mighty plug and it sounds much better, so I don't think it's the guitar... any idea what it could be? I just connect it to the PC with the USB, have the asio driver, firmware update, good headphones, etc.
Hmm. My first reaction was something with the pickups, but if it’s not doing it with the software then that’s out. There’s a global eq that you can adjust as well. I’d look at that and make sure it’s not doing anything it shouldn’t. Also, make sure you have a good cable with all good connections. Finally, check the eq of whatever you’re running into (speakers, interface, etc.).
Hey! There are several ways to do it. A solid go-to is the "dimension" effect under modulation in the legacy folder. I use this effect a lot for this very thing and it sounds great. You can also use the "double take" under modulation to achieve similar results. Finally, you can use "simple pitch" to adjust the pitch and add width. Hopefully one of those works out for you!
@@tycaskey hey bro, I wanted to let you know since I got the new stomp update I’m using the dimension as one of the new blocks and it sounds great! Thanks for the advice!
I gotta tell ya, I've had this thing for a few days and the presets that it comes with are horrible. Everything sounds like it's coming through a tunnel with wild volume fluctuations? Some of the presets sound like a engineer who had no idea how to set them? I have painstakingly set some of my own patches but to tell you the truth I am underwhelmed to say the least. A lingering problem is there seems to be a 2K brittleness that the little EQ pedal included just can't deal with. (yeah yeah I know what I'm doing and I know what I want to hear) PS To use the editor you to have to have some weird ass format USB cable that does not come with it and I doubt you've got one hanging around.
@@stevesmith3990 Do you mean to tell me by updating the firmware it will magically fix most of these problems, I would find that a miracle? By the way I have to find one of these un usual USB cables first, why in the world wouldn't they they buy thousands of those cables for 5 cents each and supply them in the box? Tell me something Stephen, did you have any of these disappointments or were you basically happy with the unit and or did you find with the update it was considerably better?
@@Neil-Aspinall I have seen other videos where problems were resolved by updating the firmware, might be worth a try? I don't have this unit yet but I was looking at comments to see if this was really good as the reviews say so maybe not, the jury is still out for me in light of your experience.
Neil, the "weird ass" USB cable that I use with my NUX is the same cable I have used for charging my last 3 Android phones and can be bought in 711s, liqour stores, etc around my way? 99% of my friends Androids charge on the same cable, (not a semi weird USB C cable) so I'm not sure about your cable issue? Anyway, once I got familiar with the NUX MG 300, making and editing patches became a breeze. Even editing patches just using the unit itself became real easy except when it comes to type a new name when saving. Give it a chance, it's a great tool for the money!
@@seangrexa4707 Nah after a week I sent it back. I did give it a very good chance. It was cold and brittle and most of the modulation EFX were horrible and basically un useable. I already had a Moore Radar and I can tell you after comparing them the Radar is absolutely superior.
Bought 3 day ago....got disappointed because it gives hum on OD/high gain and distortion....even changing the patches from non distorted to distorted it give a sound....though I have updated the firmware and tried to tweak hard but hum remains...
Excellent demonstration… I have a newbie question… I’m going to run this directly into my fender super champ X2… So can you still use the cab feature ?
Hey! Yeah you can keep it on, but I’d experiment with not using it as well, sense you’ll already be running it into an amp with a cab. The ir is more geared towards going direct. Thanks!
As he answered. You can if you want to and if it's the only monitoring solution you have. But a modeler is modeling the full signal chain including an amp, a cab, and a microphone. So it's an all in one solution. It's not made to transform your fender amp into say a Marshall JCM 800 or something unlike many people think. I think you could just turn off all amp and cab modeling off and just use it like a traditional pedal board going into your tube amp though, though I'm not sure whether the MG300 is capable of it. It should be.

Can i use it as an audio interface and like skip the effects on it and use my vst?
Yes it works as an audio interface. And yes you can bypass effects.
@@tycaskey will you please explain how it is done???
@@FERNANDO-jj2vt maybe I’m not fully understanding your question? Plug the unit in via usb. Select the unit as “audio in” under preferences. If you select it as your “output” too, you’ll need to connect speakers or headphones. Once setup, just bypass whatever effects you want in the editing software.
Thank you for sharing! My MacBook Pro is not recognizing the pedal. What type of Micro USB do I need to get for my pedal? I will really appreciate links. Thank you!

Can you help with some patches, sir?
I just got my NUX MG 300.
Hi, can you make a tutorial of how you made that ambient tone in the beginning? I would like to try it for our worship service. Great sounds by the way.
Thanks! There’s a link pinned in the comments where you can go download all the patches I made.
@@tycaskey Thanks :)
Great review...👍👍👍
Thank you!
Can i use your patches also in Stratocaster with HSS pickups?
Please share the patch of the intro. Great review, by the way. Thanks
Thanks! I will for sure!
Great demo, man!!
How'd you like it for volume swells? Heard those in the beginning - but was that hard to set up? Did the exp/vol feel smooth?
Thanks! It feels good actually. I have all the patches available for a free download.
@@tycaskey thanks man..
Great review…just got one. What preset were you using for the first swell effect please?
All presets are free to download
i just have it and i like it! nice analog sound emulation!
sadly... mine explodes on a sudden WOOOSSSHHHHH it's just too loud it could affect my hearing and that really sucks... such a boomer...
Can I connect this to my PC and actually listen to what it sounds without having an amplifier or a recording software like logic pro?
Great pedal, i have a question pastor, how to stack with other pedal, let say like a modulation and reverb..?
Great Pedal!
Thanks!
Great video !
Any suggestions for alternatives to this that sound better? Hopefully something that allows you to select multiple tones without having to press up/down multiple times?
Thanks! Hx stomp
@@tycaskey thank you, I believe that would be 5 times the cost of this unit !
The first sound was really soulful. Can you please share what kind of arrangements you made with the processor?
Too beautiful and too good.
Thank you! I don’t really have any arrangements that I can think of. Is there something specific you’re looking for? Thanks again?
What do you think of the Boss GT1, especially the amps and cabs. Sorry if that’s a little off topic but that’s my current choice, the one against which I am evaluating options. Thanks.
I haven’t had much experience with the GT1 apart from a couple plays at the guitar center. Boss might have a little more stability on the software, but the NUX has a lot of value for the price.
@@tycaskey Sure, thanks for the reply.
I tried to click the small X on your t-shirt. I thought its a kind of add, lol.
Haha
Bro I can't open your file, in my smartphone it says that "file is not supported"
If it played through my PC it would be good but mine like many others wont. Save for the mg30 and hope like hell they have sorted their shit out
I wish there was a good acoustic emulation.
I saw that the latest software update has acoustic sounds.
Hello sir, how to open your patches files? every time i unzip it, it always lead me to google chrome and instantly download it. I hope you can help me thanks
Sorry. I'm not sure why it's doing that. Is there a specific patch you're looking for?
Amazing Demo Ty ... Is the very start from a specific song?
Thank you. No just made it up .
Very good demo. Thanks for putting it together.
Is there much lag when you change presets with the two footswitches?
Can you set a master level for each preset, or is that done with the amp being modeled in each preset?
Thanks! Slight lag. Volume set within the amp and master volume on the hardware of the unit. For the price, it’s pretty powerful.
Are you planning to do MG-30? It's going to be an upgrade of MG-300 with some cool new features.
Hopefully I can get a unit to review! It looks pretty cool.
@@tycaskey I'm looking for some affordable unit for my home practice so I might buy it but waiting for some reviews to be dropped on March the 5th. I hope you will get this one for testing. Your ambient intro was pretty sweet, I'd love to see you doing some magic with the new model ;)
@@GiltleyRage Thanks!
Awesome
Hi, great video!
I don't have an amp ( can not afford it lol)
Can I use Nux mg300 as a soundcard then have output as headphones or speakers to listen to the guitar sound?
If it works, does it sound good compared to having amp as output?
Hey! Yes definitely. This unit is designed for direct recording/monitoring. You will get a better direct tone than using just the headphone out of an amp.
This video is great
Do you have MG-30?
Hope you can make a film about MG-30
Thanks! I do not. I hear good things though.
Hi, this have a fuzz face pedal effect or other fuzz?
Hey Ty! Great video as always! You always find a way to get a great tone. Are you planning on making more reviews on these new amp modeling units? I would love to see you making a review on the Mooer GE250 (which is on it's way to me, hehe). Cheers!
Oh nice! I don't own that unit, but if I can get a hold of one, I'll definitely do a review on it. Mooer makes some good stuff.
@@tycaskey They do! Actually I started gaining more interest in mooer products after I watched your video of the mooer preamp live. I live in Hanoi, Vietnam and it's quite difficult to find line 6 products like the HX stomp and if you do it's very expensive but mooer is pretty common here so you can easily have access to their products. I chose the GE250 cause is the one that's closer in specs to the HX stomp plus effects like delay, reverb and modulation in the unit sound great.
@@diecinuevemx That’s awesome! I’m sure sure you’ll be happy with it. I really liked the preamp live, so assume the GE250 will be a step ahead. Hopefully I can come across one soon and do a review. Thanks for the feedback!

@@tycaskey Hi Ty! Just ran into your demo again and wanted to share with you that I ended up getting the mooer ge250. I added it to my pedalboard and have to say that it sounds just amazing. hey thanks for the patches pal ! you did a good job with the video and you play very well . i have a zoom g3 and i upgraded to this mg300 and i am happy with its sound quality but its limited , like the compressor is a joke ... and dummy buttons on is it just one model ? wth ? lol ... yes the editing software is clunky i found if i moved the unit it disconects , the usb connector isnt the best - they should have used a larger usb mini b or what ever it is . but for the money it sounds really good . i miss the zoom spring reverb though man it sounds so good but the amp models really have definition and character . i found experimenting with custom ir to really bring it to life .
Thank you! Happy to help.
@@tycaskey And if i use this pedal connected to a computer in a live situation?
@@anonimogtr49 I would not recommend that
will the patches work on an MG30?
Hi Ty, I have an Interest in the Nux Mg300 as an Interface, and for backing tracks, can the 300 store backing tracks with the Manager software like the Nux JTC looper does, where you can take a 24 bit Wav file and convert it to a Nux file then save it in the pedal ?
Hey! I am not sure on this one. I did not see anything like that in the software, but it’s worth asking NUX to confirm. Sorry I can’t be more help.
Hello Pastor.. Is it possible to run a stereo mode in a live situation? Great demo anyway!!!!
Yes definitely! Just use a stereo to two mono cable and come out of the headphone jack into two channels on the board. Hope that helps!
He's a pastor?
at 1.08 it would have been so nice if the overdrive had sustained after you switched to clean, but great idea and playing
Thanks for feedback!
Nice video and tone man
In this video you use nux mg 300 to audio interface or used mg 300 as audio interface?
Thanks! I actually did both. For the intro play through, I came out of the headphone jack into the interface. For the screen shot, I had it interfaced in via usb. I find that it’s a bit more stable running out of the headphone jack,.
@@tycaskey so in your opinion the best audio quality is output mg300 to audio interface?
@@bagasadinurcholish3854 I did not notice a difference in tone between to the two. That said, you’ll have to use the headphone jack with a stereo splitter cable to run stereo if you’re not interfacing in.
Very good
What do you think about mixing this unit with some pedals? A pair of overdrives, reverb, delay and compressor?
Could be cool. I’d run the delay and reverb after the unit and the drives and comp before.
Nice
Hi! I have encountered some trouble with quicktone. I can actually proceed to the GUI of it but there is no sound when i pluck or strum my guitar. My guitar is plugged by the way. I am using windows 10. Checked the device manager in sound section and saw Nux Mg300 Audio saying "Device Cannot Start (Code 10 Error)" with a triangle exclamation point icon on it. How should i fix it? By the way, my only need is to bring the sound of my guitar whenever i use quicktone. Big thanks!
Hey! Make sure you have the latest version of Quick Tone software. Also make sure to select the mg300 as your input for the audio device. The output should be whatever your speakers are connected to.

Yes. Straight into the interface.

Hello. Has anyone used this with a Windows 7 computer? I have tried different USB cables and It see the USB cable but does not connect to my computer?
Hello! Is there a difference when recording using an interface and the NUX's interface?
No other than the fact of going into another interface is more reliable in my experience.
@@tycaskey What I meant was the sound difference. Sorry, wasnt able to add the word sound in my question. 😁

Yeah it’s definitely a great unit. Thanks for the feedback!
Hey bro is there something on the hx stomp that’s like the detune pedal to add more width to my tone?

Did you go online and run the updates?
What type of cable do you use going out of the headphone jack into the PA?
Stereo 1/4” to two mono 1/4”
Bought 3 day ago....got disappointed because it gives hum on OD/high gain and distortion....even changing the patches from non distorted to distorted it give a sound....though I have updated the firmware and tried to tweak hard but hum remains...
Did you try the noise gate?
I think the UI might have sold me on this. It’s Mac compatible, right?
Yeah it is! It’s a really cool unit!
