The greatest guitarist that ever walked this earth! Gary could play any style that he wanted to, from Rock, Blues, Jazz-Fusion and even neo-classical. No one played with more passion and feeling than Gary. R.I.P Maestro. 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
Apart from Gary, there just aren't many guitar players who among other things had a sound that was "just on the verge of being out of control," and that is a terrible shame. 80's Gary was so in your face, and he made no apologies about it. The world needs another guitar hero like him. RIP Gary. You are very sorely missed.
Mid to late 1980s Yngwie Malmsteen was raw and in your face. I love Gary and Yngwie equally as much and they both played like their lives depended on it.
Awesome! Just listen the live album "We want Moore" and you will know how it was in the 80's. I've read that Gary did not like this period and really prefered to play blues but in my opinion he was really great in that style.
Dude, you must have read wrong ,Gary did frustrated with all the mis fuckups and screw overs during this time , He enjoyed playing Rock n roll but after he got frustrated with the bullshit, he got the idea in a dressing room from Bob Daisley and it started from that point on ,he did prefer playing blues over rock but that was said when he was already playing the blues genre.
I have a live recording from one of his last performances and he played 3 new songs and they were more of this hard rock style. His next album was going to go back to this.
This is a man who played every show like it was his last. God, i promised myself to see Gary live once before I die, because it NEVER crossed my mind that Gary would die. : /
The tone master. He took the classic Les Paul and Marshall combo to it's peak. Pure attitude. I wore this album out when it came out. Even though he was known for being balls out, he was amazingly versatile. Gone way too soon. RIP.
I would need five more hands to give enough thumbs up to & for Gary - 7 in all . Songwriter , vocalist , hero ( for his stand for peace / anti -war themes in many of his songs ) 5 for his 5 masters of different guitar styles ( Blues , Ballads , Jazz, Rock & Metal / Shred ). Of all the many guitarists over the 40 + years I have loved & been inspired by , Gary is still , in my opinion 1 of the greatest !
When Gary reached this period in his solo career he was way out there. Nobody had envisaged you'd hear this type of guitarwork. And as time has proved then the best was to come. The truly greatest rock guitarist who could make that instrument scream, cry, sing and certainly shout the loudest and longest. RIP legend. Still so sadly missed🔥A total inferno of talent
I saw Gary play here in the States in the early 80's. He opened up for Krokus and Def Leppard. He should have been the main attraction. I just wish he would have played moore here but I read that he didn't have much of a following in the USA. If that's true I can't understand it. He was an awsome guitar player and should always be known as one of the best ever. You will be missed Gary. We want moore but at least we have lots to listen to. God's speed my friend.
Wish I saw him Moore, Moore was a true Irish virtuoso could’ve had Moore of Gary Moore out on the Moore or down the Shore with my Whore begging for Moore
I saw him three times on that bill...Hartford, Boston and NY! All three times I was within spitting distance of Gary, he was incredible... He played with a passion, power and fury like no one I'd ever seen. Played his red strat all night, the best strat tone ever!
I saw that tour in Wisconsin. Unfortunately we were late and on the way to our seats I could here this incredible guitar playing. By the time we sat down I asked who was that guy. It was Gary Moore and I then bought all of his records. However I never got another chance to see him live. Bummer!
Gary Moore at his best. Saw this concert for free and have seen him countless times since. His blues stuff is ok but his Rock stuff really shows Gary,s Guitar at his best. Thanks for posting.
Gary Moore was no effete, intellectual, spider-fingered shredder, instead, he attacked his guitar with intensity and fury and beat it into complete submission. Seeing him live just before he turned to the blues was a highlight of my concert going life, he was incredible, and his sound with that red Strat he used - just amazing.
A GREAT GUITAR PLAYER AND, THE INTRO IS AWESOME, GARY MOORE MAKES EDDIE VAN HALLEN LOOK LIKE A BEGINNER, GARY MOORE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST GUITARIST EVER
I have seen many bands, many great guitarists ... but none of them could hold a candle to the late ... and great Gary Moore. Yes, I saw him several times, both in arenas and intimate venues. He always "killed it"!!! R.I.P. Mr. Moore.
The truly amazing thing about GM is that he could play anything, and when he did a cover, he intertwined all those other genres, blues, jazz, classical, rock, and did it very, very well, which made the songs his!! No doubt in my mind after listening to every great electric guitarist over the last 50 years, Gary Moore is the greatest. I will, however, give it to Jeff Beck on creating, new innovative sounds. Otherwise, all take back seats to Moore!
I think he has to be one of the best lead players ever. I would say from this era its got to be him, Michael Schenker and Alex Lifeson for me. I love Rhoads and Van Halen but those other three are so underrated in comparison.
First song I heard by Gary. Such awesome shredding and riffage. Such powerful vocals with lyrics as true today as the day they were written. We've lost another great in Gary Moore. R.I.P.
I was at the Apollo gig to.Amazing gig.1st time I saw Gaz Moore was when he supported Whitesnake in about 1980 and it is still the most memorable all round gig I've been to even 38 yrs later and 100s of concerts behind me
Saw Gary Moore open for Def Leppard on their pyromania tour it was Leppard Krokus & Gary. He blew everyone off the stage. Actually met Ian Paice & Neil Murray at a club here in Buffalo the night before. They were great to talk to myself being a bassist I got along great with both guys. Paicey got a kick out of the fact I saw him in 74 on Purples Burn tour.
Gary Moore R.I.P. U were among the best..We ha lost enough in ½ a year we've lost : Paul Grey, Ronnie James Dio, Peter Steele, Gary Moore.. Greetings from Denmark & to listen to this guitarwork is a worthy Goodbye!!
Heard this tune on kbfh in jr hi ! !!!! it floored me !!!!!!! I was thinking this guy plays guitar like i dream of playing. ,,,,,still aint. Heard. Or never will. Hear anyone ever play like him,, gary moore. Rip ,,,he was in a. Leage no one can touch,,,Thats a fact!!!!!
Just goes to show you can tear it up on anything; you don't need 36 scalloped frets and a locking tremolo. Gary proved it right here with his Les Paul Jr.
Guitar players all have their own style which makes them completely different from each other. Stevie Ray Vaughan played one hell of a guitar where he just abused his guitars in his solos. I haven't seen any videos of Gary playing behind his back or with his teeth and if he ever did I would love to see those videos. I wish that we wouldn't lose so many great guitar players like Gary and I am glad that I got to see him in concert as he was the best performance that night. He shouldn't have been the opening act but rather the main attraction. I saw him in the early 80's and thinking that maybe it was in 1982.
dunno i kinda like the stage and the smoke it looks like bespin from empire strikes back lol darths got nothing on the reaction speed of gary on the guitar :P
Gona miss you Gary, One of the best guitarist i ever saw live, caught him at the Old Ritz in New York City, must have been The wild Frontier tour, He was unbelievable!!!
I saw him and how good he was and it changed everything. He could play rock blues metal ballads he was just so much better than people thought. No one could ever upstage him. Don't forget he wrote the songs and sang them too. One of the best of all time. Jimmy page doesn't sing, EVH doesn't sing Malmsteen doesn't sing. Gary was the whole band and then some....ah, the good 'ole days!!
What a staggering talent he was he could literally make a guitar sing could play anything underrated vocal ability too gone way too soon RIP GUITAR HERO 😢🙏
The greatest guitarist that ever walked this earth!
Gary could play any style that he wanted to, from Rock, Blues, Jazz-Fusion and even neo-classical.
No one played with more passion and feeling than Gary.
R.I.P Maestro.

Was very influential in the Metal genre also 🤘💀🤘
Agree.. 🇭🇷🇺🇦
Of course. Vivian Campell can attest to that.

Alvin Lee is every bit the equal to Gary, they're both top of the food chain .
Some guitarist can make their guitars sing. This guy makes them sing, scream and shout..What a sound..RIP Gary
He makes it cry too.
Gary was a beast and sounded much better live than in the studio. Best guitarist ever!!
Listen to the song "Speak for yourself" from the After the war album. Also the Messiah will come again.

Why didnt he get that adulation he richly deserved,I'm putting him up there with e.v.h,blackmore,page,roads,if not more exciting
Gary was by far and away one of the greatest to ever strap on the instrument... period....🎸🎸🎸🎸
GARY MOORE + IAN PAICE = PURE DYNAMITE !!!!!!!!!

Obviously this is why Gary Moore was one of Randy Rhoads Guitar Heroes , love it !!!! Awesome!!!!
Really?
Absolutely true and Moore actually persuaded Randy to take the Ozzy gig@@saigonKT
If ever a guitar player could actually melt someone's face, That guitar player is Gary Moore. Unbelievable.
Imagine Gary Moore opening for Rush! Yep, was lucky enough to catch that show in 1984... Amazing!!!
Awesome! Just listen the live album "We want Moore" and you will know how it was in the 80's. I've read that Gary did not like this period and really prefered to play blues but in my opinion he was really great in that style.
Exactly! In fact he was the best in this style!
Indeed he was❤️ I love blues also💙💞
His Blues stuff was brilliant, his Lizzy and Moore stuff was exceptional.

Yes I got the Corridors of Power too. What an earthshaker it was. Those were the days!

The fantastic Mr Neil Carter. A multi instrumentalist who can play fuckin everything!! And a very humble and nice guy also..
I saw Gary play here in the States in the early 80's. He opened up for Krokus and Def Leppard. He should have been the main attraction. First song I heard by Gary. Such awesome shredding and riffage. Such powerful vocals with lyrics as true today as the day they were written. We've lost another great in Gary Moore. R.I.P.
