I always only thought he was in Victims of the Future, but later learned he had recorded several songs with Gary Moore. Didn’t even know he had toured with him. Airy and Murray… woow!😮
@@igolfjtweetler4097 Oh here we go, another fool who doesn't know what "underrated" means. Ian Paice is one of the best and most respected drummers ever. Nobody underrates him, nobody. Stop talking crap.
For those who never witnessed Gary Moore live , you missed something very special. I have to say I’ve never seen a guitarist explode on stage like he could . R.I.P.
I saw this line-up at 'The Marquee' 1984 .... Was the LOUDEST gig i have ever been to, in fact my ears are still ringing now !!! Early Gary Moore stuff is AWESOME !
I think most of the top popular music lovers today couldn't even comprehend the virtuosity and talent this lineup of musicians have. It just goes over there heads. This is mind blowing and I think that Gary Moore was the most talented all around guitarist I ever heard. He is missed.
Monster musicians...Astonishing solo by Ian Paice and incredible conclusion of the song...everything here is impossible to play...just frightning...IAN PAICE the best and the most underrated rock drummer ever...
Best band Gary ever had. The talent on that stage is immense. The way Ian Paice drives this song is fucking incredible. It doesn't get any better. Fuck.
While I love this lineup id have to disagree the Daisley Powell Carter lineup was better at least to me but no matter what era during the 80s Gary always had the best of the best with him touring and recording.
Excellent song with lots of energy, mood, excitement, and dynamics. Ian Paice shows that you don't have to have a massive kit a la Neil Peart (with no disrespect to Mr. Peart) to play an awe-inspiring drum solo. RIP, Gary!
What a blessing it is to see these videos from the past. In my opinion one of best groups in rock history. Gary Moore could Play anything and was amazing.
Ian Paice has been out there drumming since the beginning of whatever it is they call “metal”. While Deep Purple had taken a bit of hiatus he had time to rock it out with a few different projects.
Listening this awesome music I'm feel so sad thinking about the shabby musical period which we live. Most of my peers don't even know who Gary Moore is... So sad... Sorry in advance for my possible bad english but I wanted to comment the same. 😀 Long live Rock 'n' Roll!
This short lived band was just shit hot. Luckily saw them twice, The Marquee and Reading Festival '82. One of the tightest bands ever for me at 43 years of gigging. Just superb craftsmen...❤🙏
Gary Moore is so versatile. He even did 2 country and western songs with Skid Row! Pure genius, all of them. Don Airey always looks so in control, like he's posting a letter. Top man!
Gary was one of the best when he played hardrock because he made good songs and his playing was recognizable, fierce, melodic, fast but stilll melodic with a bluesy influence. When he played blues he was a fresh wind after SRV had died. He played rock blues with lots of fire, great tone and made some good songs but to me he got very repetative and quite predictable. To call him the greatest is quite a stretch. Why don't you just say my favourite?
What a geat combination of musicians. Ian Paice and Gary Moore had a long lasting colabiration. For those of you that don't know, Ian Paice played drums for Deep Purple and Whitesnake. Wow. Thanks for posting.
I was a roadie on this gig,it was like a disappearing act. From my side of the stage Pacy's foot disappeared during his solo,Gary's fingers did the same on Killer.I was Niel's roadie(whitesnake guitar roadie) but some dick asked me to do the gig and when we got to Dortmund, told me I was doing keyboards. So Don found me on stage in a tangle of cables and pedals, and told me to "fuck off". All came good in the end.A really great gig,and I got paid.
Don and Ian, way before they were together in DP. incredible. Moore, Paice, Airey, Murray, they are connected DP, Whitesnake, Gillan, Gary Moore, Rainbow, Glover, Black Sabbath ... etc ... british Hard Rock at its best.
I Seen Ian Paice Twice In Concert With Deep Purple, The Legendary II Lineup. Back In 1985 On The "Perfect Strangers" Tour At The Long Beach Arena, CA. Also On The "House of Blue Light" Tour Back In 1987 At The Irvine Meadows Amphitheater In California. Two Incredible Concerts!! I Seen Gary Moore On The "Wild Frontier" Back In 1987 It Was Held At Jezebels In Anaheim, Ca. Gary Tore The Roof Off That Venue!!
..Sunday, Oct 6, 2019... New York....449 pm...first time hearing this...have loved Ian’s drumming since Hush..Gary Moore RIP on ultra fire...made my night!...vibes
Yeah, 3/4 of the first line-up. Neil Murray was on the first Colosseum II album, 'Strange New Flesh' (if you didn't know already). The studio version from 'Back On The Streets' also featured 3/4 of the second line-up, with John Mole & Don Airey and a 21 y/o Simon Phillips on the drums, instead of Jon Hiseman.
Oups sorry I did not know Gary Moore even if I have been listening to rock and jazz music for 50 years 😏Indeed incredible energy and virtuosity! Thanks also to the powerhouse master drummer Ian Paice!
GREAT VIDEO!!!! I really liked Don Airey's trippy sounds. Ian Paice has always been one of favorite drummers. I just wish I could see Gary Moore play live sometime. Unfortunately he never seems to tour in America.
That is fantastic! The crazy playing brings the real thing!!! I dont know if the GOD of music exist, but if it was, this guys are certainly were his best angels!
I have read and heard many times that John Bonham was the best drummer in history. Can i disagree after seeing this monster called: Ian Paice? f***ing amazing.
I’m quite a fan of Gary Moore and even more so of Ian Paice, especially after hearing this and yes I agree in part to what a previous person made in comments. Little bit of Jeff Beck in there most definitely. Best thing Ive heard from Mr Moore, this was simply fan..bloody...tactic R.I.P. Gary. Your missed.
@fanfromeurope thanks for the response and info.I was born and rises in n.y.c and now live in Orlando Fla,that being said I meet a lot of great people from Europe, and around the world. That have hook me up,with info on finding things. Sadly they are to many people here in the states, that don't know of the great Moore! I have a lot of rare stuff from Japan. But my guest to find this will begin. Thanks for your info and your time.
@paddytaggart The roots of this song can be found on cozy powells "over the top" album on a song called "killer". It featured powell, moore, airey and jack bruce and was appropiately named.
Vilken energi och vilken fart, ännu ett bevis på Gary Moores storhet. Another proof of Gary's greatness...Amazing musicans Ian Paice, Neil Murray and Don Airey...
Is there any style Gary Moore can't play? I am very lucky to have seen Gary live twice in the US. I saw him back up Rush in the early 80's, on his Victims of the Future tour, and later in a small club in Chicago on his Wild Frontier tour. I never heard of him until the Rush concert, and was a fan for life after! Props to his band too. Ian Paice, Neil Murray, and Don Airey. Is there a hard rock band Airey hasn't played with?
Ian Paice can do it all. What a driving force. One of the best drummers ever.
👌👌👌👌
Yeah, underrated for sure.

destroyed every stage he played on
Ian Paice is the Hurricane! Wow.
I wonder if the song is named after Gary's fellow Belfast man Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins ?
One of the best overall guitarists ever in any style - my opinion
I agree!
Anything featuring Ian Paice is automatiucally made better every time.
Ian Paice is always a monster...He's always a genius...He's and he will always be my favourite...
My God look at these 4 legends tearing it up on stage!!! Amazing 🤘🤘
Gary Moore and Ian Paice on the same stage is something near perfection.
Ian Paice one of my drumming heroes. Also don't forget Neil Murray on bass one of the very best! Greatly underrated.
Both of those guys and indeed all of the brilliant musicians here really delivered the goods with accomplished playing and lots of passion !
When I started playing drums in 1982 he was my main inspiration. Saw DP live in 1987, and Gary Moore in 1990.
I saw this line-up at 'The Marquee' 1984 .... Was the LOUDEST gig i have ever been to, in fact my ears are still ringing now !!!
Early Gary Moore stuff is AWESOME !
Yep I was there too it was loud, partly because the Marquee was such a super small venue I guess....great set they played..
I think most of the top popular music lovers today couldn't even comprehend the virtuosity and talent this lineup of musicians have. It just goes over there heads. This is mind blowing and I think that Gary Moore was the most talented all around guitarist I ever heard. He is missed.
Gary was the finest guitarist ever.

Ian Paice é um baterista genial, sou muito fã do Deep Purple e acompanho seu trabalho há várias décadas.
Tinges of Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer on speed and an unbelievable drum solo from Ian Paice.
What a blessing it is to see these videos from the past.

Because I am quite old I have heard them all. I have seen them all ‘Live’ and Moore was a ‘cut above’ absolutely no question.
Probably Gary's best band... Too bad people wanted more blues... Gary Moore could play much more than pentatonic runs... 😎
Ian Paice has got mad skills.Class act for sure!!

In 82 Rainbow has Blackmore (Purple) Glover bass (Purple) Airey keyboards (Purple) joe Lynn turner vocals (Purple) And rondinelli

Colosseum II you forget. Moore, Murray & Airey played in it. That's how he formed this band.
Least we forget just how amazing he was even before he rediscovered The Blues. Stunning playing !! Gary we all miss you. R.I.P.
The blues stuff was cool, but this is so much more interesting overall. This was more groundbreaking.
Best line up ever : Moore, Paice, Murray and Airey !!!!
