- Went through some recordings of old Pinkpop performances from 1983 which were broadcasted last summer.
Ran into one of my guitar heroes Gary Moore performing "Cold Hearted". I was and still am a big fan of his guitar sound and work.
Band members:
Gary Moore - Guitar, Vocals
Ian Paice - Drums
Neil Murray - Bass
Don Airey - Keyboards
I thought I better share it. Enjoy it.
I'm always so impressed by Gary's playing. As a guitarist myself it's like 'How the hell did he do that'? He has this crazy attitude and confidence in what he does.
Authority
Other than the singing and playing, he had the attitude., You can see it when he moves all over the stage. What a great artist he was. Really missed...

Pure badass.
Thanks for sharing! Excellent! Wow..... Dude was on fire!🔥🔥🔥🔥
ian paice on drums!!!!
Can't go wrong with that. One of the best.
Man listen to that guitar tone. Gary can really make that Stratocaster scream and have that fat ballsy tone.
At the age of 14 standing with a friend in front of the stage. It was amazing and.....LOUD!!
Lucky lad.
INSANE passion! Fire!!! Gary was truly one of the greatest that sadly never received the attention he deserved in the States. I loved his blues LPS but his rock stuff was the best. Shapes of Things... Cold Hearted... just go DOWN the list. Gary was a God. True Rock & Metal God. I miss him as so many do.... so dearly.
He was already a bluesy guy, the roots were there. Always my fave, RIP Gary and thanks for being with me in my car all those years
Controversial to say but I much preferred his rock stuff. The live in Japan album being a highlight
Gary was amazing, the best.
Fantastic - never seem this before thanks a million for putting this up!
He had this viciuos sound......really miss him
Mr. Robert William Gary Moore 😢
Mr. Philip Neil Murray

Was john sloman there also
@@sethstopcallingmeryandickh9067 No, John Sloman had already departed by this point.
@@timothyjification so who's contributing to backing vocals for gary
No shit I got to see this. We're hard core and we saw this and we were frozen in our tracks. No one does that to us. I still get goosebumps
@@sethstopcallingmeryandickh9067 no one
Absolutely amazing performance. That tone. 🔥👌
His best line-up ever. Neil Murray is a pure genius. So underrated.
I think I agree.especially with his early 80s metal sound.
Yep Ian Paice on drums. Just smokin
Perfect tone and powerfull fingers .
That’s rock n roll excellence, boys and girls.
I think that Leo Fender could never imagine that a guitar of his could be played like that.
probably never wanted it to begin with, he was all about jazz and country
My hero. Gary is the reason I wanted to play guitar. What a badass. IMO, the best guitarist to have ever lived. Rest in Peace Gary
Can somebody tell me what kind of pickup is Gary using on that bridge to get that "Prophetic" tone? ...............other than the fact that............Well he is Gary Moore :)
Using a vintage strat most definately going thru a bunch of marshall stacks using an old boss ds1, also could be using a roland space echo the preamp really fattens up the tone. Theyre amazing
check out the Rock School 1982 vid with Ian Paice and Gary Moore, he shows his pedals at that point, all the early boss stuff
He used nice gauge strings. His guitar had a bit of fight! So many people now sound the same. Light as possible strings. Low low action.
I read somewhere that he used 10 gauge Dean markleys, and apparently they went out of business.
This must be his best live vid from his hardrock years.
This one ruclips.net/video/lGZGYBc2ppI/видео.html
@@blackie75 that one too, yes.
Don Airey is another hero of mine. Hey I miss Jon terribly. Don has been in the business a long time. Just review the resume of Don. So you can say Jon is irreplaceable. That's true. But Don is incredible and has assumed the mantle. And I'm ok with that. Oh and this video why does Neil Murray get no love. That guy is great. Roger Glover said he was worried about his job
Great Gary and Band...Great !!! Salud y Vida Pa'lante !!! Cheers and Life On !!!
Damn this is a cool song
I was there....and i will be this year...... pinkpop rock on
Gary and Scott Gorham were AWESOME with Thin Lizzy!
Gary moores best period...forget the blues ,corridors of power and shapes of things were his high point
So confident in his own abilities
God I miss you Gary Moore
Wow... did he break a string?you know when Gary is at guitar,he can play at higher note like no one can.
Best Vocalist & Guitarist in the world.
Killer line up with a virtual who's who at each instrument. Gary Moore just had so much feel and great tone that he could play any style he wanted withequal emotion. This was during his hard rock years, but yet you can hear the blues he always maintained.
I was lucky to see him at the Cape Cod Civic Center on the Corridors of Power tour and was just blown away. It was general admission and you know damn well whose cabinets I was parked in front of - AMAZING!!
RIP Gary Moore
Err, Cape Cod Coliseum, guess I am old!
The Fiesta red '64. Jesus
you will never see this again he was special nobody will take his place
He was special for sure, the greatest we have ever seen.
Passion
Which Stratocaster model ?
1963
Badass
Outstanding! The whole band is on fire! (but does anybody know what songs he used the sunburst Strat' in the corner on?)
De tus manos la palabra maestro.
What I call an all star band
H E L L O.......?
NO KA OI
🔝🔊🎸🔝🎸👑
Wohhhhhj!!!
Ian. Wow
nice
Them 800’s are FULL UP :)))
They are not on they are just for show.He only used one amp here and that was a Marshall Super Bass 100 watt which you you can see to left.
化け物のようなStratのToneだ...
And to think that strat used to belong to that well known bad ass metal guitarist...............Tommy Steele! :)
Tommy was a seriously underrated shredder who could give Yngwie a run for his money! :)
Guaau !!!
que genial escándalo hacia Gary ,grandioso caray..!!!
Te extrañamos sin duda !!!
El gran Ian Paice en los tambores !!!
Mr. Ian Anderson Paice 🥁⚡🔥💪👊😎🤘
