I don’t think there is a word in the English dictionary to describe how good this solo is, absolutely unbelievably good
Neither in Spanish😮
Neither in norwegian ...

"Good" doesn't do it.
I come back here once or twice a year in memory of Gary...and this solo always brings me to tears. RIP Maestro.
Same here, gone but never forgotten.
I end up here when I feel bad or depressed. Nothing helps better than gary moore playing 🤘🖤
Same here 🖤🤘
This is one of the most emotionally potent guitar solos ever played. You can feel every note he plays! Incredible...
+RebelThoughts82 Indeed.
+RebelThoughts82 The guitar is crying.
+RebelThoughts82 absolutely
+RebelThoughts82 I totally agree. I listen to this song frequently and I always get that down to the core feel.
+RebelThoughts82 It is superb playing, almost prefer him on a Strat to a Les Paul after hearing this..the part towards the end where he plays as fast as anybody ever has is just a knockout.
I've just played this for the 3000th time.
Same here...never get bored of it. How could we? 🎸🎸
One of the Best solos ever recorded on this planet. Bursting in tears every time I hear this performance
It gets me that way too.
Me too
Its very good....being a 40 year guitar professional picker,I havent seen such a natural picker who plays with soul and feeling like he does/did.......He should of been bigger than big....
It,s up there with the best live solo,s recorded ....
I totally agree🇮🇪🥲
There are guitarists, there are great guitarists. There are iconic guitarists. But there is only one Guitar God! Gary Moore
Never have I mourned the passing of a rock star as much as when Gary left us. There are others who make me sad in their passing, but no one has left my musical life so empty. R.I.P. Gary Moore
@2:37 YOU CAN LITERALLY HEAR HIS GUITAR SCREAMING, omg dude you were a REAL talent.
RIP
Too right, like a alley cat in the night!!
The bends and vibrato there are ridiculous. Only Gary Moore.
dude got it...end of story...
squealing more like
Gary Moore was definitely one of the best shredders and one of the best blues guitarists ever. Not to forget about his vocals, he was also a really good singer.
Yes ....A marvelous, underrated tenor voice.
Reminds me of evh in 1986. The year before...the similarities are striking
on point, very overlooked he had an amazing voice
Even if I'm 100 years old in a nursing home, senile as all get out, and don't even know who I am, this will STILL make me tear up when I hear it. RIP Gary.
Makes my hair stand up on end... Music like this is so dormant now, Gary really was one in a billion.
One and only.. NEVER will there be another like him..
I’m as bald as a coot yet somehow this STILL makes my hair stand on end.
What about girls aloud?
He wasnt one of a billion he was the only one that can play like this like carlos santana or jeff beck in their style
One of thee very best solos ever played by anyone hands down
I cry whenever I listen to Gary play. Nobody came close. RIP mate xxx
Me, too.
So u wanna say jimi wasnt as good as him?
Never heard this, im blown away. What a nature creation
I listen to this solo everyday. A real masterpiece. Rest in peace, Gary. Even if you're not in the world, you will continue to live in our hearts.
Agree. Shocking to see him passed right before us in early 2011. More shocking is that us die hard Gary Moore fans will never see this genius live in the States.
Here again. Listening to this masterpiece...
What I love about this is that even when Gary isn't playing seriously fast he's still head and shoulders above pretty much everybody.
What i love about Gary is despite his amazing ability,,,he has no arrogance...Just pure humble love, spirit straight from the heavens transcending through him with such powerful emotion,,,I'm often left in tears
Yes, he was a wonderful human being.
@@MrParisienWalkways if only he stayed away from the bottle
Being a musician from the 70s and have listened to every possible genre on the planet, and the infinite number of solos in countless musical categories, and this without question can truly bring tears to my eyes. Have never felt such emotion with any other song - ever!God Bless your soul Brother. What an extraordinary gift you were!
You said it.
Dear God I never want this solo to end, absolutely heart wrenching, sublime, tears welling and astonishing joy at the same time. Bless you forever Gary Moore.
My first ever comment here:from time to time I come back and listen to this song. I can feel every single note in this solo. It´s the most emotional piece of music I´ve ever heard. RIP Gary Moore.
Surement un des meilleurs solo live de tous les temps ... et dieu sait que j'aime la musique et la guitare électrique mon ami...
Wild frontier Tour. Isstadion, Spring 25 april 1987 I was there at the concert. 23 years old. It was a magic evening.
Listen closely to how much feel he puts into the bends beginning at 2:36. You feel it in your bones man.
As Eric Singer(drummer on that tour ) said" Gary Moore played every note as it was the last time he would ever play it..."
We are so lucky to have so many recordings (DVDs, CDs and records) of his work, but so unlucky that he died so young.
If, when you listen to this, you feel it rips your heart out millions of people can identify with that. Gary Moore put his heart and soul, and then some, into every song. This video is the perfect illustration of that.
Just epic. 2021 and still one of the best solos in history of guitar.
Why u say 2021 and still??? You think there will be better solos from someone on the future????
Unfortunately we can't rule out possibility 🙄.. However, it's unlikely. 👍
@@georgekapsourakis3376 Everything is possible 😅
GARY MOORE a true giant in the art of guitar playing, his place is secured, future generations will hear his unique and inimitable 'feel' and realise he was the best of his era.
Probably in all eras
The best of all eras
This is Gary at his soulful best. I was very lucky to see him play in a number of contexts including a small pub gig, a couple of medium sized club / theatre dates and once at a fair sized arena. He never gave less than 100% and his talent was mind-blowing. So sad that he left us so early.
A couple years have gone and the world still misses Gary Moore. We still have the blues for you, Gary!
This performance is truly one of the most emotional pieces of music I've ever heard.
No one can ever match the heart that this man had.
And... we can't forget the stellar performance Bob Daisley did on the bass.
This one of them solos that makes you sit and look back on memories
If I want to remember how solos are meant to be played I watch this.
I love his phrasing, so much feel to his playing. A unique guitarist. He will be missed by many.
Agreed, his phrasing is increíble and his feeling too
Tears, tears again still heartbroken.
Gary really plays from the heart on this song ! He and David Gilmour were the best at that!
Totally agree, well said. Dont fordert Mark knopfler
This solo speaks deep words
bakerXderek baker!!!
Very deep!
Sad
magic bend at 02:40
So true. :)
I see Mr. Daisley on bass. Always a pleasure to see Bob and Gary together. Thanks for posting
The greatest guitarist alongside the greatest bassist
How was I not aware of this mans playing earlier in my life? I just found out about him this year, and now my concept of guitar mastery has fully changed.
oh my godness!!!!! what solo!!!!!! Im from Brazil but Im here at L.A usa in a hostel feeling alone and this made me cry today.... come back Gary :(
come to Ireland;)
That interaction with Bob Daisley at the end...incredible, you can tell he is also feeling it so much, I bet it was such a natural high
The playing is truly masterful its from the heart, not only that, he also wrote the wonderful melodies he is playing, a true genius.
I've never heard Gary Moore play 1 bad note, and I'll never get tired of listening to him. Top notch player, all heart & soul & no gimmicks.
Exactly
he made many errors, but only musician hear it...despite this he was genious
Yes, when Gary was asked how he would like to be remembered he replied “as someone who really meant it no bullshit”
Greatest Guitarist ever
words cannot describe how epic is this
one of the best there ever was...
+Wilson Wilson ooooooo
Gary Moore was THE Best.
Steve Reigate he was
Gary was THE best there ever was.
He and Jimi were the best!
Ive been pickin for 45 years and tell me why I never saw him or even really heard of him...?....He is an unreal guitar player and singer.....He should of been "Huge" in the bizz...
He just somehow never got the acclaim or attention he deserved. Beautiful player in many styles, I hope you checked out plenty of his stuff since. ✌️
gary is truly the greatest guitarist of our times! no one like him!!!!!
100% ... in a league by himself!! I've been a pro-keyboardist since 1973, and NEVER heard a solo on this level of emotion and depth!!
All the dreamers can dream there dreams, but this is LIVE facts here, this is Gary Moore the finest guitarist that ever lived.
Different musicians, different crowd, different people, different era.
Amazing, unbelievable good guitarist. Can't stop listening..wow!
God he was amazing, anyone only need listen to this to know, he was truly gifted, Fuck the hall of fame and all the old ponce guitarists who don`t rally to ensure Gary gets the credit he so deserves, because we all know who was able to deliver his emotions, his feelings, his very soul through his guitar playing.
I know
God Bless you
Greetings from Greece. Gary is the best guitarist of all time. Thank you Gary!! R.I.P !!!
One of a kind...The best melodic solo ever made and playd on a guitar..R.I.P Mr Moore
Nobody makes the guitar cry and wail in a good way like Gary Moore, one of the best guys in the industry. 🙏
Oh Gary, how much poorer the world is without you. Thank you for making me feel the vulnerable human being that we all are when I listen to your beautiful music. No words can describe the feelings you and the sound of your guitar evoke. Thank you.
Sheer unadulterated genius! The lack of press coverage after his passing still amazes and saddens me. I scoured many papers to find no mention at all or only the most cursory comments whereas if it had been some more widely and publicly recognized guitar hero (names withheld on request) there would have been pages of dithyrambic articles exclaiming the end of an era.
I totally agree.I don't hate Prince but when he passed away , whole world went crazy. He has earned all that respect. He was amazing musician but it was so fucked up when actually nobody mentioned Gary after his passing.Every late night / tonight's show makes a tribute about any musican/actor , celebrity in general but nobody gave a fuck about Gary. That hurts , a lot.
Playing kick-ass guitar is "Not" shredding or speed,...its notes, feeling and style...and Mr.Moore had all three...
It's because he was out of this world...meaning he did'nt serve this world. God truely was in him while playing.
Gary rarely played this guitar... great to hear him improvise over an already great song/solo.
Fantastic 🎸 Garry Moore R.I.P.😢
Saw him at the Monsters of Rock in Nuremberg Germany 1984….
He put on the best guitar solos I’ve ever heard….I became a Gary Moore that day!
This is how every extended outro solo should sound like
I always come back to this performance, and it rips my heart out!
Well played Gary Moore....well played.
I always remember this song Empty rooms back in the year 1988 / 1989 in Slade School Queensland
All Gary Moore's solos are best! Gary Moore forever!
💚👍
Every guitarist seeks to achieve this level of skill , A solo that can rip out your freakin heart and then come back for more , Gary , RIP dude , you figured it out.
I always cry when I hear this AMAZING!!!! The world has lost a phenomenal guitarist but heaven has gained one.
Goosebumps every time I hear it
Yes, exactly. Simply sublime.
Immortal.
Many can play the guitar, only a few can let the guitar really sing. Right thru my spine every time i hear this song (also the studio version)
La velocidad, la técnica, la melodía y el sentimiento que imprime en cada nota que sale de su guitarra es inigualable. Uno de los mejores guitarristas de todos los tiempos sin duda....
Still makes me cry
So Far Away, was written by Ray Russell and Mo Foster. Gary loved it and it became the intro to Empty Rooms
A little history even seasoned fan like me can learn from.
No Matter what guitar , Strat , Tele , ES335 or his mighty LesPaul , you always cab tell when HE's playing , signature tone &feel (and offcourse lighting speed sometimes) , my Favourite ....always
Talk about dynamics in a solo with pure emotion and passion right down to those last note volume swells. Gary had it all! RIP Mate...
Absolutely flawless solo, gives me chills all the time. Not a single mistake at all, wish I could have seen him play live
❤L
Ain't too many guitar players that woulda wanted to go toe-to-toe with Gary Moore. My favorite guitarist of all-time.💥💫
This solo touches the heart like no other...saw him play this at the Cow Palace in SF back in 87....I was mesmerized
If you thumb down this video you don’t recognise what talent this is. That’s a real guitar player right there, one of the very best to ever do it. What a terrific bit of playing on this live version. He could play blues he could play rock he could shred too, truly unique.
Rest In Peace
BLOWING HELL, REMEMBER IT SO WELL. ALL THE CONCERT, S I WENT TO BLOODY AMAZING 👏 R I P
The greatest guitarist that ever live. RIP Gary you’re the best, ever.
So right. Ever walk our planet earth.
One of the greats and so so underrated when guitarists are spoken about.
RIP legend
The finest guitarist to ever walk this earth.
The solo is Very moving, Phenomenal, Incredible, Breathtaking, beyond mere words really
Can't believe I only just found this, goosebumps all over. What a legend.
Genius is an over used word but he had it in spades. So good.
His playing had so much depth! So versatile! One of the best ever without a doubt
That parte between 0:20 and 0:40 sounds to me almost like the cool math teacher that is explaining an equation in a form that we can perfectly understand ...
R.I.P. we never forget him.
Yes we absolutely do miss Gary Moore, was really kind of
sudden
and unexpected
No We wont forget Gary!😢
Почему уходят достойные , таланты..... Очень жаль терять таких людей ..... Gary Moore легенда , самое роскошное обладание гитарой это его неповторимая техника и стиль.....
You are so right. This solo completely gets under your skin and brings tears to your eyes. A solo from another planet...
NOBODY has ever played like Gary Moore, he was very very special.
Besides Gary's solo, hat's off to the great bass lines and drums. Gary Moore and Stevie Ray Vaughan. The best!
Tears in my eyes....soooo beautiful....🙏🙏🙏
Sir. I almost cried in middle of the night listening to this. Gary, I hope you are well where you are now.
He passed man
@@Calihashman Yes I know haha that's what I meant..if he sees us from up there..
The other musicians are on fire too because it all feels so alive. The keyboardist is the most limited but the drummer and bassist have such a strong energy coming off them too
I've yet to listen to ANY Gary Moore song and not come away with my jaw on the ground! Just a stone cold player man, MONSTER TONE!!! RIP Gary...
Saw him in '86 at Milton Keynes Bowl Marillion Garden Party and let me tell you, he was out of this world
LOVE HIM ..LOVE HIM...MY ALL TIME GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER!!!👍👊👊👊🙏❤
How can you not feel the passion the emotions coming from his soul it will take you away from all that's going on today peace Gary from SAK I hope you all feel the same if there is another brother out there that can make you feel like he does then this world was truly blessed jam on Gary peace and God's love be with you
I'm proud to say that I lived in the village where Gary now rests.
I've played guitar for about 8 years. I started when I was 10 and I got to say this is one of the best damn solos I've ever heard.
jizzgasm overload guitar solo...my soul is about to cry
