I used to religiously watch this tape when I was a kid, Gary was my first guitar hero...so sad.... This show (The Live at Isstadion '87) is one of the best, if not the best concert EVER captured....the entire show is just MAGIC, no other way to describe it....it's almost a crime that it hasn't been released on dvd yet..
In addition to being a superb guitarist he had a wonderful voice too RIP Gary you remain one of a kind like Phil lynott before you I bet you've reunited
"Death is just a heartbeat away " . My God I got extremely sad when I heard it for the very first time. It's like it was meant to be like that.R.i.p. you amazing man.
Agree...his tone sounds ten time better than most bands, just out of this world. Another thing..2 he can shred with the best when Gary is in his prime.
This gig was fantastic... have put my VHS copy onto DVD. For those not familiar, try and find the other videos from the gig... the end of military man is just epic!
R.I.P Gary.. I have always love your music and i will always do!! Du är oslagbart bäst på gitarr o sång.. Du skrev texter som ingen annan.. Himmlen har nu blivit ett musikaliskt paradis.. ses..
I have seen Gary Moore live many times. I have worn out his videos, Records and even his DVD's (which is'nt possible) to learn his technique. In the end I sounded like like GM on the Guitar which I stopped playing for 9 years. But I can say this is GM at his his best without a doubt. I wish the powers that be would re-release this Stockholm concert. so I could buy it - I wore out the original video.
People here have commented, he can no longer play this solo properly. I read an interview, where he actually said that he had never been able to pull off the solo live, the way it was played on the original recording. On all the live versions I've heard he replaces the final fast run with a cromatic slide up the B string, just as he does on this version. That's what good performers do. If you can't duplicate something cleanly, don't flub it, replace it with something that works equally well !
what for a spee.... never heard it before in this fast temp. GREEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT I am sad to know that he is gone, I am glad that he let us THIS MUSIC!!!!! Thanks Gary
let there be rock! Just listen to the words, so true. Killer solo. My favourite guitarist of all time, shred man. I preferred his playing to Eddie's cause Gary doesn't tap as much and really goes for it with the pick and his music has stood the test of time.
@jakeylou those who can play blues well, just like Gary, have that special touch and feeling, just makes it perfect. cause you can't play blues without feeling the music
I watched it with great pleasure. when i was a Gary Moore fan there was no youtube. i had this LP but i never saw videos from that era... Really rather recently i saw Friday On My Mind and Loner ... Seeing this is such a dear gift . A very nostalgic echo from my teenage years . A 15-year-old boy living in one of the republics of the split up USSR in the mid-1990's... cool.
Yeah, I can see where you're comming from. I myself for the most part play well within my comfort zone when it comes to speed, chops etc....and it does end up (for me) to sound a lot more natural and flow better. Look at Michael Schenker, his playing is superb, but you would never think of him struggling to "make that run" because he is not pushing his technical limits at all. He is just playing very musicaly. Wow...I think we actually ended up more or less agreeing on RUclips !
Dynamite,TNT,in his hands could sing, cry, weep, everything he imagine!Shit why can't we live 300 years and go every night on shows like this one!Never get bored, not me!
13 years ago today - Love you man - RIP Gary.
People don't realise he had an amazing voice and could play at the same time!
He ruined hes voice with drinking
@@Perkelleenkonsta Yeah it got him in the end.
@@Perkelleenkonsta a sad fact for so many in the rockn´roll life. Phyl Lynot died young.
Yeah, his voice was just as powerful live as on record. Amazing guy. Such precision playing too.
I have always realized that❣️
one of the best guitar players ever
RIP Gary! One of the greatest guitarists ever...Thanks for all the wonderful music, we´ll never forget you.
Absolute LEGEND!
This one's a ripper of a song. Blistering, heavy guitar and an amazing vocal range. Miss you Gary!🤘🤘🤘

This is a very, very good recording! One of the best along with Judas Priest's recording at Dallas in '86.
Boy, does this song have relevance today? RIP Gary. You were masterful.
That clean tone after the solo is incredible
Listen to this a lot, should have millions of views.......
Wow... that GORGEOUS guitar tone after the solo with the crowd singing along is just phenomenal!
Love that tone, magical.
Yes. I don't think it could be reproduced today even by accomplished guitarists.
Simply one of the very best guitarist of all time ,and possibly one of the the greatest songs ever written.
Estoy de acuerdo
Hands down the best guitarplayer ever born!
Hell fookin yeah
Yes 🎸🔥❤👏
Yeah I argue

I had no idea Eric singer played with him before KISS….cool
In addition to being a superb guitarist he had a wonderful voice too RIP Gary you remain one of a kind like Phil lynott before you I bet you've reunited
As a guitar player, I say this... There is Gary Moore - then there's the rest of us.
37 years ago now, still great. Rest in peace Gary.

Curiously, he died because of a heart attack. what a pity
whaaat i just got that! OMG!!
If only I had known about the prowess of Gary Moore's guitar back in the '80s... What an amazing band , as well!
Great Perfomer
One of my favorite guitar solos...amazing. \m/

the only guitarist who has the sweetness in every notes he played.Gary the great Moore
Monster guitar player who never gets his due when great players are discussed
If i'm in the discussion Gary gets his due, One of the greatest!
@@georgescott632 Same here, one of the best in the world!!
Gary Moore Este Dumnezeul tuturor chitaristilor si are o voce Minunata
Absolute Legend.......Neil Carter is also Bloody talented....
His voice is so similar to Gary's it was hard to tell who was singing on some of the live recordings.
I know right they sound the same but Neil is better, he’s kind of a more natural Gary Moore with a better range and less effort
You can count in Bob Daisley there aswell. Ozzy should give him a acall and thank him for his career.
Incredibly crisp guitar and crisp voice!!!
Best live version, very fast
This gig was fantastic... have put my VHS copy onto DVD. For those not familiar, try and find the other videos from the gig... the end of military man is just epic!
I saw him live ones back in 2001 as support act for ZZTop and this guy actually was way better than the 3 texanians.
Gary and billy are 2 very different guitarists. Neither are better or worse
Luke Thompson I'm sorry but Gary is better
@@honourableviking9919 Gary is way better lol
