I just noticed that the 16 pro had its cellular network on 2 bars whereas the rest of the phones have full bars. Doesn't this impact the battery?
Generally it does because the cellular chip is always trying to connect to a tower further away using more power.
Yes; the phone will need to (try to) send stronger signals to communicate with the tower
Yes the Pro stopped dropping faster when it got more signal bars. I'd be curious as to why it showed a lesser signal at the beginning.

I haven’t noticed the “major battery gains” that apple been touting. I bought the 16 pro because it was implied battery life would be similar to the 15 max pro which it absolutely isn’t. Having to charge my phone half way thru the day and again at night and that’s even with light use, just like in the video whenever I make calls the phone drains really quickly, have barely even used the camera because of how much the battery drains.
Used to put my 15 pro max through its paces and would last me all day, even when I would be on like 20% later in the evening that would last me till I fell asleep because that 20% was like 2+ hours.
Will change to the pro max which is unfortunate as I love the pro form factor.
Oh, that sucks. I hope with updates, those promises become reality
Obviously having a smaller phone means a smaller battery. No way the 16 Pro's gonna have battery life close to the 15 Pro Max.

I purchased the 16 Plus after exchanging my iPhone 14. I believe 16 Plus is the best value iPhone this year. It’s an amazing phone and a battery powerhouse. I love it.

TRUST ME 16 PRO has bad network cell reception, its too bad. in my cabin it shows only 1 bar, while rest of the phones show 2-3 bar easily all the time and my previous 15 pro also used to show 2-3 bars, but iphone 16 pro sometimes loses all signal or at best shows only 1 bar
But phonebuff does multiple trials for each test. So I'm not sure if that would have been a factor in all of the test. In fact the video got a little late, only because earlier he was getting inconsistent results across runs.

Yeah I could never buy a brand new $800+tax iPhone knowing it's only fukin 60hz ... But the only upside is atleast they don't give u last year's chipset cause that was disgusting shady low-ball type of scam and so many users had no idea Apple been doing that for years

10% difference between them in benchmarks, unnoticeable in real world but games run a bit smoother on the pro phones.

Im not sure if you noticed but the iPhone 16 pro appears to I'm assuming NOT connected to your mini cell tower as the signal is showing 2 bars vs 4 bars on the rest for a good amount of the test and then it jumped to 4 bars
This is the most honest and practical way of testing the batteries of iPhone
The 16 pro only had 2 bars on the celluar signal for the first half of the test, the poor cell service increases battery drain quite a bit. Other phones had full signal.

1- The Pro Model (non max) has its cellular connection at half the bars of others, this is enough to skew the results.
2- How come you have a mini cell tower in your home, do network providers provide a special piece of kit for each home like broadband/wifi, mind sharing the pictures of those on any social media?

iOS 18.1 will come out on 30th of October or so according to my knowledge (only the beta is out yet)

ive heard that before and i now ordered an iphone 16 pro. had samsungs for the last 8 years and especially the exynos variants always have been really bad. ever since usb c and sideloading in europe i am finally ready to make the jump. however in the recent battery tests it seems like suddely the s24 ultra beats the iphone for some reason? in my experience and with the people that i talk to, the iphones are usually miles ahead, even the "bad" ones like the iphone 13. especially standby drain seems to be a huge problem for samsung and i can confirm that. i made a 5 hour train ride recently with the phone just idling in my pocket and being on my laptop. when i arrived and got off the train, literally 50% of my battery was gone. i hope the 16pro that i will get later today is better. pro max was too big for me.
@@JPK1337you don't have to worry about battery life if your android is equipped with snapdragon 8 gen 2 or later. Newer exynos like the 2400 is good too but it isn't as efficient as snapdragon. Apple on the other hand already achieved great efficiency years ago, that's why people still buy older iphones
My guess with the bad start of the iPhone 16 Pro is that it actually wasn't fully charged. Apple mentions that to prevent faster battery degradation, they discharge the battery to 95% once it reaches 100% and then charges back to 100% in a loop until it stops charging.
It probably was on this low when you unplugged it but iOS still reports it as "100%"

Why dont they add ltpo to the 60hz iPhones so its 60-1hz so its even more efficient..
Because LTPO is actually pretty expensive still. That's why you also don't find that on cheaper Android phones but only on flagships

Ngl the Pro seemed butchered from the start, worse connection to the cell tower and also seems to have been on the charger for a while so the battery wasn’t actually fully 100%, you can use coconut battery if you want to check the actual battery percentage. Apparently iOS 18.0.1 improved all the battery issues so it’ll be nice to know if all the phones were updated. Also I thought iPhones were meant to have good battery life when locked? 10% seems like a bit too much

Last time when you compared the dark mode with light mode of iPhone 12, you concluded a net gain of over an hour of battery life with dark mode
honestly ive switched from a pixel to the iphone 16 and the battery life is beyond my expectations, i use my phones for doordash, with the pixel if i start work at 9am, by noon not only is the phone at 20% but its also so hot its throttling. while the iphone 16 will have 60% and still be nice to hold and no throttling. typically end the day with 7 hours of screen on time.

The 16 not doing any better at all than the 15 at launch seems a bit off, probably iOS 18 battery drain issues… Would be really nice of you to tell us which exact OS version is in use for every video.
Still impressive performance on the Plus and Pro Max ! And the Pro models doing as good as the standard ones with larger, 120 Hz screens and more powerful chips is not bad despite Apple claiming they should do better.

I just got my iph16 pro and my battery drains 1% every 5 minutes ( i only text on ig and maybe randomly scroll in these minutes), is it normal to drop this fast?
it's not normal.. but there are videos on Yt, which can help you to overcome this issue..
I still think Iphone 16 pro Max is the King, because Iphone 16 plus uses 60hz refresh rate and 16 pro max uses 120hz refresh rate. It's bound to use more power
Tests show that it is dependent on what you do. If you are watching old movies at 24FPS, then the Pros will dial down to 24Hz, whilst the base models will still run at 60Hz. Again, if you are reading, then the Pros will dial down to 1-10Hz, but the base will stay at 60Hz. So, I feel ProMotion battery life is positive for what I do, but if you are continually scrolling, then the base models would be better for battery life.

this year I chose 16p over 15pm, because of the heat management issue. but by looking at this comparison, 9 hours of active time is good enough or not for daily use, I need some advice... btw, this is first time trying to use an iPhone from Android
If you love your android features don’t think of switching but if you’re going for battery life and maybe optimized gaming experiences then yeah you can switch

Iphones battery life is in sane no doubt , but i don't think its an overall better phone than the competition. I feel the S24U might win phone of the year
My problem with iPhone is their battery only last for two years of good battery health, sometimes a year plus, then you have to replace them, on the other hand Android batteries can go up to 6 years without battery replacement.
This is an amazing reviews. But WHY NOT use data only? Realistically a phone is to be used outside with data, and battery use then changes dramatically. You can't compare battery on data, with battery on a steady wifi connection!

Android 15 improved battery life on Pixel phones, but not sure how it did for other OEMs, and as Samsung is not releasing for another 3-4 months, it remains unknown.
@@andyH_England I'm referring to Android 14. There were tests done from other RUclipsrs and apparently S24U outperformed all iPhones 16 by a decent margin

One reason why Apples own video tests showed such a huge difference is because of frame rate. You seem to forget that the loop you're playing of your own videos are all 60fps. So there is no advantage for the Pro models since they all play at 60fps.
Apples testing uses movies from AppleTV+ and there they can go down to 24-30fps while the standard model remains at 60Hz. That's why they last much longer there

I think you might’ve stopped charging the 16 Pro when it hit 100% instead of keeping it charging past that to the true 100% so it would’ve stayed saying 100 for as long as the others at the start

You’d think the variable 120hz display would help with the battery life but isn’t really that much of a power saver like how tech geeks make it out to be. The smaller pro having that feature and having marginally more capacity than thr 16 is proved to be not enough for extra battery life assistance. APPLES deceitful marketing strategy is a scam.
