Whenver you guys are doing a Turbo vs NA drag race, try to also do a top gear rolling race, without shifting down to comprehend how much of a difference Turbo vs Natural Aspiration makes; and slow drag races anyways are always fun to watch as well.

Considering it’s a 2-seater sports car vs. a 5-seater estate that weighs 500kg more with about the same power, it was closer than I thought it would be - didn’t expect the RS6 to win even one, despite the 4WD.
The issue is car gearing is always different so it would be more about gearing than engine flexibility. Eg a corvette c7 does 155mph in 4th whilst some cars do 110mph. If gearing is identical it’s a good test though :)
The R8 still looks so beautiful even after a decade. In my opinion nearly all the previous generation of supercars and hypercars looks so much better even after a decade! The Aventador lineup looks more sexy and aggressive than the Revuelto, the LaFerrari looked so much better than the new F80, even the Chiron looked so much better than Tourbillon and so on. Even the older BMWs looked like a dream back then, now just grills. All these emission regulations and the EV race has killed the modern cars
No it is not, they are at the Opel test center in Dudenhofen. The road that can sometimes be seen on the side is the country road from Rodgau-Dudenhofen to Babenhausen. According to Google Maps, that part of the test center is still under construction, but it is already finished on StreetView.
Fantastic race that R8 is one of the greatest easily driveable supercars ever made . As a daily driver I'd still take the RS6 over the R8 , the RS6 is super practical you can take the family anywhere with it , go shopping , then go crazy on the highway with it especially this GT version it goes like a missile it's totally bonkers !
(Excuse my language, i‘m not a native speaker) Even this is a great channel, i‘ve got a suggestion to make. Wouldn‘t it be interesting to see, how the cars perform in a „real-world“-drag race? I mean, how often do you use launch-control or break-boosting to accelerate? So my suggestion is (in addition to the „normal“ drag races): Set the cars to the startline, RIGHT foot on the break and than just floor the throttle with the right foot. To prevent anticipation, i would choose an acoustically start signal (starter pistol/ horn/ etc.), which is placed BEHIND the cars. So all drivers have the react to it and will generate almost similar response times (0,15-0,25s). Maybe one run in D und one in S?! Or one run with TC on and one with TC off?! I would love to see, how big the differences between the different gear-boxes will be. I mean, my car is over one second slower from 0-62mph, if i don‘t use LC. So, dear @carwow team, maybe you think about this idea. Otherwise: Great work and keep it up!

@@blackmercury956 don’t worry you’ll still see them on the road, its just a tactic to sell at overprice. Plus 2020 RS6 is also literally the same but the price difference is night and day. 176K is way too much for a RS6 imo. You can get way better cars which are collectors car at this price.
2075kg for a performance car with that price tag is just insane. Is there no aluminium in Germany or is Audi's answer to the weight just add more power? Yeah its pretty fast in a straight line, but some of us like to go around corners too and Im betting it under-steers like a pig
Those c8's have been weighed at 2200kg. Not sure what theses new gt's tip the scales at but I'm pretty sure they're not 2075. And with regards to understeer if they run the new KW's like the performance models do I can guarantee you you'll be amazed how good they are round the twisties
@@charlottw3466 different dampers do not magically stop a car from understeering, unless the original's settings were horrible. The main suspension settings which affect understeer/oversteer are camber and toe, and they're independent from the dampers themselves. So if there's less understeer it's more likely that Audi messed with other things too.

@@Manu-Official 3 cars isn't enough to judge an entire brand's reliability. Statistics are what you should base your expectations on, and they paint Audi as a pretty unreliable brand.
I've always loved the R8. It's not the best at anything for sure but it just looks so fantastic. Nothing else looks like it. But if I'm living with it I would take the RS6 in a heartbeat. They are so rare over here in NA because of the wagon look but I love it.
Hi Carwow, loving the videos as usual. I think it would be a really useful addition to these 1/4mile races to have a “real world” check, by having details of how the race would have ended at UK national speed limits. To me it looked like the RS6 GT won up to legal speeds. 🤷🏻♂️🍻
