      the NC has a REAL fully retractable hardtop unlike the ND’s fastback.
      Dunno about more reliable… it’s just a lot newer and a lot more expensive!.
      The NC is by far the best daily driver, spacious cabin and boot.
      Surprised you say drives nicer, I’ve found it has really really light steering, not very precise

    • @all-caps3927
      @all-caps3927 18 дней назад

      @ all fair points on your behalf. I just think the NC’s hard top (which are much rarer) have issues as they get older and they’re just another thing to worry about. Realistically in the UK you won’t be taking the top off until the summer I general so the fact it isn’t retractable is no issue.
      In terms of price, yes it’s more expensive, but they’re both relatively cheap compared to sports cars that are newer from other well established brands. You can get a good MX-5 RF for sub 14K easily which isn’t a bad choice at all for a 2nd or 3rd car.
      In terms of driving, I absolutely love the precise drive of the NC. But tbh, in a low HP car the light steering is much for exciting for me in the ND. It feels more ‘throwable’ if you get what I mean. The way it drifts from corner to corner is serendipitous.
      I don’t know, I love both cars anyway - but the look of the ND is just much more prestigious. Once I’m looking for a second car for the weekends I’ll definitely be considering an ND along an Audi S3 as my daily.

    • @tommybooth5398
      @tommybooth5398 18 дней назад

      @ that’s fair enough, if I had the budget I’d probably grab a high spec 2 litre ND.

      I love all 4 gens of MX5 regardless 🙌

    Nice numberplate placement on the S2000. Since most people only take them out in winter and you need reduced cooling.

    S2000 is the coolest car there by a country mile. And the gearbox is an absolute joy to use. Would be interested to see how a boosted S2000 would fair against the other two.

      It's actually a very similar box to the MX5, made by AIsin (toyota). Diff is a Torsen helical, they are not very strong when used this way though.
