- For sale is my dads lister 3 cylinder Diesel engine from a tide master fishing boat, engine upgrade is the reason for sale. Lister air cooled 3 cylinder diesel, hydraulic gear box and reduction gear. Hand and electric start. Currently listed in Facebook

Not really. It needs tuning as it’s wanting to die after throttling up. The rack and governor needs to be adjusted to correct that.
Morning. I need some help.
I’m at Hartford Marina with a SR3 (ceased). Was told when I bought boat that had been rebuilt. ( painted green by the engineer) ( Welsh) last winter after my regular monthly startups it made nasty noise on one of the cylinders then a short time later the whole thing ceased. It won’t move one millimetre. I’ve had it checked and we found diesel in the oil. Any ideas how to fix. Tia. Btw. Great vlogs. Regards Craig & Tracey. *Jupiter. *
Hi thanks for your comments, sorry to hear you are having engine issues, Im not an expert by any means.
Apparently it can seize the valves if over heated. Fuel pump could be leaking causing fuel in oil maybe? And the fly wheel can corrode up lock up against housing. Very limited info to make any educated guesses, does it turn over with decompressors on? If all else fails- this engine is still available. 😁keep me posted on what you find. I do have marine engineers in the family I can ask. Happy to try help. I hope you find out. Best of luck.

Never start the engine like that you need to slowly build oil pressure. I’d sack you doing that.

@@MessengerRising so bloody what an engine needs oil to lubricate. From nothing to full throttle isn’t good for an engine. Respect the engine and it’ll respect you.
