Its so cute that the UK still considers itself relevant. While it is a valuable junior partner in low level research and development, particularly in developing and the mass manufacturing of relatively complex components that require not only special manufacturing techniques, but which also require complex security measures, the UK is not a mission critical partner to the USA. We like them, they are useful and their accent is fun, but we are more than capable of continuing in their absence. I flew the F-15C, and frankly I would rather command a squadron of the newest iteration of the eagle than a squadron of British tempest in a teacup.
I have no expertise to discuss the technical matters of air warfare with an F-15C pilot. However, I will comment as follows:
Of course the UK is still very relevant and it does more with the limited defence funding available when compared with the US, since very little of that budget is siphoned off by pork barrel senators/congressmen to their communities who vote for them. Also, you need to be reminded the UK is more politically stable than the US, remains nuclear armed with nuclear powered submarines and has two carriers. It also designed and produced the Harrier jump jet as it was called; most likely, that latter technology or its next generation is used by US carrier based aircraft (F35?)which take off/land vertically.
Finally, have you given any thought as to why Putin recently threatened to nuke the UK and not France or Germany or Poland? I suggest it's because he would disagree with your thesis and considers the UK still very relevant.
I hope that comes realistic.
Imagine that trying to keep up with America because allies need to help America protect them.
and it was the u.k that were first to join them in the farcical adventures in iraq kuwait and afghanistan. but americans forget that.

With all these advanced jets, it doesn't seem like in a war that China and Russia don't stand a chance. China in particular better watch out if they want to take Taiwan.
The Tempest is a hyped up 5th generation fighter to look like a 6th generation fighter, but under the hood is the 1990’s technology and not much more….
