Great! Your video comparison of Pocket 1 and Pocket 2 on a dim light setting is exactly what I’m looking for! As expected, DJI made a pretty good job of improving the image and video quality of its Pocket 2.

After watching plenty of YT videos, I decided that it was worth re-investing in the new one. I've now had it just a few days and I'm very pleased. And of course, Jeven's video helped make me feel better about spending money on this new one. Thanks.

*Alas ! No higher resolution movie output other than regular HD for Time-Lapse and Motion-Lapse video !!! That's a deal breaker for me !!! You get higher resolution Motion-Lapse and Time-Lapse if you are willing to take the stills the camera creates to produce the end result movie, and take those images into an NLE and build them into higher resolution movie sequences, such as 4K, 8K and even 12K (Which is what I've been doing with the OSMO Pocket 1), but that's extremely time consuming, and frankly, it's allot of extra work in post. The GoPro will allow time lapse in 4K movie output straight from the camera.*

I have the new Samsung Ultra 20 and DJI osmo 4. I don't see any reason to get the pocket 2. It doesn't seem to offer anything I don't already have. It also seems like the camera is quite a bit better on the Samsung Ultra 20.
One extra question that has not been asked... Can you charge with a power bank while filming ? It would solve the non removable battery issue ! Thanks.
Hey, 1st, I gotta say great video, my question is , with the pocket 1 i have to use multiple umbrella lights to get great video of reptiles in a medium light setting, do you think i should be fine with the pocket 2? I love the pocket outdoors but 15 munutes setting up lights and then 15 minutes breaking them down drives me crazy but necessary to record better video than my note 9, I did pre order the pocket 2 so my fingers are crossed. Thanks in advanced
You can charge while recording. I shot a 2 hour 4k video and was at 90% battery after. I used the Smatree power handle. They advise against charging and shooting as its bad for the battery, but they say once its charged to 100, you can do it, as it just draws from the power source then.... Though my battery still drained slowly, which makes things confusing.. DJI being unclear, as usual. Anyway, I always need long battery life, so I will always be plugged in anyway, so battery damage isn't a huge concern to me. By the time finite battery devices are unusable, I've usually long since upgraded. I use the hell out of my gear.
Hello great video!!! Thanks for sharing, can you record long videos like 40 min or the camera stops recording before? I need to record long video without being pressing the record button constantly
Can you simply use it totally locked like a normal hand held still or video camera? This would be needed for a tripod video shoot where you don't want the camera to move from the scene. Also, can a smart phone or laptop be used as a monitor off the camera while shooting?
Good video. My QUESTION: I want to use a small accessory to give me a GoPro mount to use with a HEAD MOUNT. Is Pocket 2 the same dimension? Will the mount interfere with the kit accessories? Any recommended product? Thank you!
Great video. i couldnt fit my hand in the DJI supplied lanyard, so I used one i bought off amazon, Hand Wrist Strap Lanyard, Hukado 6 Pack 9.5 inch. Some people have said 256G micro SD card is max for Pocket 2, but I'm using a 512 with no problem. The case magnets are weak. I lost my iphone adaptor after 1 day. The wind screen for the remote mic doesnt have a solid feel to it when inserted.
Just got my Pocket 2 yesterday and sold my Pocket 1 on eBay today for $199 so pretty good trade in overall. Got the creator combo and so far thrilled with the upgrade!!!! Waiting for waterproof case to come back in stock.
Do the screens look the same between the Pocket 2 and the Osmo Pocket? I don't see any screen protectors available yet for the Pocket 2 and I'm curious if the Osmo Pocket 1 screen protectors will work for it.
I'm new to the Pocket 2, having previously owned the original Osmo. I bought it back in November, but have only just got round to using it. The SD card that I bought was from Amazon and it's the SanDisk Extreme 128 GB microSDXC Memory Card + SD Adapter with A2 App Performance + Rescue Pro Deluxe, Up to 160 MB/s, Class 10, UHS-I, U3, V30. Because we've had snow here in the last few days, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally try it out. Getting home, I was extremely disappointed to see that, on my computer the footage is 'juddery', jerky and the picture breaks up. I have the Pocket 2 set to Pro mode and it was filming in 4K at 60fps. What am I doing wrong? Suggestions please?
I think it’s a good upgrade from the DJI Osmo Pocket One. I feel like they did listen to some of our wishes and complaints. They did drop the ball with the battery life. A minimum of 8 hour record time is ideal for a day of vlogging... or at least close to it. I say yes it’s worth the upgrade especially since all the accessories are still compatible from the previous versions with exception of the waterproof housing.
Great to get if you haven't the original Pocket. I do and having added the a wide angle lens, Rode Wireless Go and wifi module along the way the asking price for the Pocket 2 is not for me. I'll spend that money on travel somewhere where I can get some fine video with my Osmo Pocket. :)
Excellent video. I'm sold. I have the DJI Osmo, but I find it a pain having to clip the phone in and out and get it balanced and I still haven't learned the functions, but when I can get it working I do love the gimbal! So I'm buying the Pocket 2 Creator Combo. Very excited and thanks again for your comprehensive research and easy-to-understand presentation. Have you done a Pocket 2 accessories video?
can you clip it to a shoulder strap ? and does it still work like that or does the strap and closeness to your chest or shoulder get in the way of the gimbal head working ?
Hi I've been following your and I got an osmo 6 Gimbel I am working with horses in a round pen and an arena the round pen is 50 ft round and the arena is a lot bigger my question is what wireless mic would be best for in the round pan or arena to pick up my voice sure would appreciate your guidance thanks
Jovey nice work. I follow your honest comments. Now I want to decide which one to buy for my videos. Which one do you suggest? OM4 with mobile or Pocket 2? Which one is better to buy?
Hey, good video. I just purchased the pocket 2 and I want a backpack strap clip for mounting it, any recommendations? If it’s compatible with the first one will it be compatible with the pocket 2? Looking at the physical dimensions it appears that the pocket 2 is slightly larger. Cheers.
Have you noticed a twitch of the gimbal during time lapse, motion lapse? My camera flinches very slightly between each frame. You can see the picture flinch but when the final movie is finished, there is no effect to the motion or time lapse. Thanks
If we completely ignore motion blur when recording video with Pocket 2, what advantage is there then by using ND filters. And why use manual setting when the camera finds the same way to adjust using AUTO.

Thanks. My issue is that I can not turn the camera off with the nd filter on. The filter will come partially dislodged and the gamble will not turn properly. This is annoying as I sometimes want to turn the camera off and on throughout a shoot. Thoughts?
I have the new Samsung Ultra 20 and DJI osmo 4. I don't see any reason to get the pocket 2. It doesn't seem to offer anything I don't already have. It also seems like the camera is quite a bit better on the Samsung Ultra 20.
Thanks for another great video Jevon! I currently have the Pocket 1 and have been debating about doing the upgrade......looks like it’s a go for me!
Thanks. That was thoroughly done. 👍
At least now I know how to use the 'do it all'' piece is for as a newbie.. 😅🙏
Awesome video, thanks for sharing! I got my osmo pocket just about a month ago and am loving it but now am considering exchanging it 😂
One extra question that has not been asked... Can you charge with a power bank while filming ? It would solve the non removable battery issue ! Thanks.
i have pocket 1,using powerbank can shoot 3 hour non stop, and i still want pocket 2 :)
@@denyharyadi5287 thanks for the answer. I just bought pocket 2 !! It rocks.
@@JeanManuelVignau I just asked this without seeing your comment and answer. Glad to hear this. I plan on running it off of a power bank.
Hi, i’ve got the DJI POCKET 2 along with DJI MIC. Does anyone know whether i can connect that mic with my iPhone as well?
Such a great tool for creators! Great vid!
Great video.... do think you can use two of the blue tooth mics with the new pocket 2? Thanx in advance
Great Q&A video, and thanks for covering all of the modes that Active Track works in. Safe Travels.
I have the pocket 1, and of course, I will get the 2 creator package. It's absolutely a must upgrade!
Great tutorial. Do the GoPro Hero 7 ND filters fit the GoPro Hero 9? I intend to buy the 9 but it is yet to be released in my country
Get a battery handle. Yes, that would bump up the overall size of the rig, but no more than if they put a bigger battery in anyway.
@@Ozpeter thank you! Will look into it
Great to get if you haven't the original Pocket.
Appreciate the in depth review in actual setting. Preordering now. :)
Does the pocket 2 joystick work on the pocket 1? Was never a fan of the scroll wheel of the first one.
can you clip it to a shoulder strap ? and does it still work like that or does the strap and closeness to your chest or shoulder get in the way of the gimbal head working ?
Hi I've been following your and I got an osmo 6 Gimbel I am working with horses in a round pen and an arena the round pen is 50 ft round and the arena is a lot bigger my question is what wireless mic would be best for in the round pan or arena to pick up my voice sure would appreciate your guidance thanks
How is the gimbal, is it freely continuously rotating 360° or just one less than 360 nearly one full rotation ?
Thanks
If you plug in a external battery pack to charge it. Can it be used while it’s being charged? Or can it be filming while it’s plugged in charging?
I wanna know if you can purchase just the joystick attachment and use that on the OP1?
Yes, you can. All attachments except for the underwater house and the do it all base work with the pocket one.
the lens clips in as well as the magnets btw
Yeaah!! Facts
Great video.
I want to start vlogging but I think I'm going for the insta360 one r
Insta 360 1r is terrible. It has low clarity and really bad dynamic range. Also the stabilization is not very good compared to now
@@CineZoneYT what would you recommend for under 500
@@karim.9958 osmo pocket 1 or GoPro hero 8. You could also get the osmo action which is good and pretty cheap with a front facing screen.
Can we use pocket 2 wireless mic with other devices? May be with an attachment? TIA 😀
can the DJI wireless module be used with other device? Like any other Sony mirrorless camera or a phone?
Good job!
Enjoyed the mic/audio clarifications.
If we completely ignore motion blur when recording video with Pocket 2, what advantage is there then by using ND filters. And why use manual setting when the camera finds the same way to adjust using AUTO.
Great little review. Waiting patiently for mine to ship.. Was the close focusing issues user error or did you get a pre release version?
How do you like it so far?
