I watch this the other day and I honestly have no idea to any of its functions. I don't have the device on hand when I watched it the first time but I still did to at least picture out what to expect before finally placing my order.
Now I have the pocket 2 on hand while watching it again, and it made more sense to me. The detailed explanations are very helpful and the phasing of the video were just right to follow what he's doing even without pausing the video.
I'm a beginner to gimbal and I really appreciate this. Thank you very much!

@Global.Travel.Journeys 64MP still photos, up to 4k/60fps for video. DJI claims battery life is just over 2h10m on a charge (in their laboratory conditions), but reality will probably be less, depending on your exact usage. Battery is internal, and non-replaceable; charges by USB-C 5V, 2A. Technically, it can be used while charging, but DJI recommends against it as doing so may cause extra heat in the battery and shorten the battery's longevity. Hope this helps.

One thing for the 'connecting the smartphone' section - you can actually just use a standard USB-C to USB-C/Lightning cable (Android/iPhone) via the bottom USB-C port to connect to a phone which is quite handy. The USB-C cable that comes in the box with any new iPhone works great for this and saves having to use the sidewards attachment.

Dear Simon, thank you for this video. It was calm, authoritative and informative. It looks like you are in Germany, or Europe, given the styles of the houses. Anyway, I much prefer a fellow UK chap for the videos I watch. Most of our cross-Atlantic “cousins” are really annoying with grating voices, false camaraderie and high pitched, frenetic, squeals of excitement. Great to have a reserved and calm reviewer/instructor. I just ordered a P2 C K (look, moaning about North Americans and I abbreviated without explanation prior to first use. Poor US grammar has rubbed off on me!) thanks again and keep up the great work.

I can't thank you enough for your unrushed, professional, and yet softly-spoken voice and mannersim (which is very much akin to presenters like Sir David Attenborough's films lol). I have one information that can be helpful for someone - There is a wideangled filter ( and also a anamorphic filter ) from Freewell. The point is that to those filters you can also attach ND filters which is very important for video

I'm getting nearer the point of making a decision to buy the Pocket 2 for 4k video after considering DSLRs, Mirrorless, GoPro Hero, Akaso Brave, general camcorders and a variety of cheap budget level cameras, plus researching a host of different gimbals. I love your relaxed calm style, and clear examples demonstrating the controls and modes. Really good and interesting. Thanks, Jim.

A really well produced and helpful video nicely narrated at a sensible pace. No 'What's up guys' - thank goodness !
After the firmware update earlier in the year the Pocket2 audio improved vastly when using external mics. Before the FW update the levels on external mics (lapel mics powered via the handle) were far too low but now audio is really good. You can connect 2 lapel mics with a 2x mono in sockets to a stereo jack plug cable for interviews - although the level control adjusts both mics together. It also works great with the Rode VideoMic Pro+ for interviews of you need to cut out background sounds in a noisy environment.

So So helpful. I could have watched hours of you teaching. Your method and manor is so inviting to watch and listen too. I get really tired of watching over produced tutorials and this by far is the best I have seen. I received my pocket 2 today and just set it up. What I thought I was getting was a simple gimbal camera in a compact easy to use package. What I got in reality is better than my mirrorless DLSR for a fraction of the cost. The crane maneuver was epic. The mic was a little hot even with the smooth voice, but I have a couple solutions for that. Thank you for taking the time to put this together. I'm excited about video production again.

I’ve had my pocket 2 for 2 years. I love it. Compared my hero 7 white (+gimbal), I absolutely love the reliability and one handed operation. It hasn’t crashed or skipped a beat once. The remote mic with wind muffler is a total game changer on a windy mountain top.
Things I don’t like: I’ve lost the wide angle lens and mini tripod. Both were attached to the case, and both fell off while I removed the camera from my jacket pocket. Dynamic range doesn’t seem as good as my GoPro, but image quality in all other respects is superb. Alway scared I’ll lose the muffler in a gust of wind.

Same lol. I’ve lost two lenses in one week especially if you’re using it while riding a motorbikes where the wind is strong.

Have you ever had problems with overheating?

@@80M I once left it recording in my car while I went out shopping. It did get very hot after 30 minutes. Then again, the car was also very hot. It generally isn’t a problem.

Fantastic video on this device, one thing I will add, if you hold the button next to the joystick you can lock the gimbal as well, BUT, the difference is, it'll stay locked even if you let go the button! It's good if you plan on locking it for a long time! Pressing the button again will release the lock - holding the function button to lock the gimbal will release the lock as soon as you let go of it (as you demonstrated), which is only good for short term locking! :) You also didn't mention ActiveTrack at all! double tapping (tap once then tap and hold for 1 sec) the display on an object will cause the gimbal to "track" that object, a green rectangle will appear around it when its being tracked - the same can be done on the smartphone app as well.

I just got my dji pocket 2 today and this video was so well done! Everything was explained very well. The music was calming and I didn't get overwhelmed with everything(even though I'm probably going to have to watch this again and take notes, so I remember). It was just really good. Thank you very much for taking the time to make this and making it as beginner friendly as you did!
