That idea to get to the inside of the door is just what I was looking for. Thank you. Also I'm not sure on your type of year model of Door. But on mine u can just pull the bar the 1 attached to your inside door handle. Pull that back & in some case it will open your door & unlock it as well. Of Course this depends if your lock is not really broken?
Thank you for this video. I am having the same issue and there are no other videos I can find showing you how to get panel off while door is still shut. Cause the door handles wont open it.
Thanks for the video, I'm having the same problem with a 2001. The lock actuator works but when the door is closed and locked there is no unlocking it, even with the key.
I had exact same problem with my passenger side door. The metal arm wouldn’t adjust the spring to pop it open like it goes on the driver side. Hopefully this will pop it open so that I can then figure out how to repair the spring inside the door, so that I can actually use the doorhandles to unlock and open that door. Oddly, I did the same thing with my back hatch, but now it only stays open. It won’t latch to close!
After opening the door, replace the whole mechanism, whatever is broken. Watch some more videos, excluding opening the door. It may not need the whole mechanism, just a spring or a bar, etc. A good junk yard, or order the parts online. But first, must understand how the latch operates. I'm guessing since the inside AND outside latches failed to open door, the issue is at the latch itself, and not either handle. If I fix mine I'll shoot a video. '99 Explorer XLT.
Thanks for that overview. I'm facing the same situation.
That worked! Got it open, now I gotta MacGyver a spring to hold tension on there.
thanks my man brilliant tutorial 👍
Thank you I couldn’t for the life of me get it open that’s a huge start lol
Ok

My inside handle came loose from the mechanism, but I'm gonna look around there before going all the way back, like Doug showed. Thx for that.

Thank you! Need to replace the entire door handle. The little hinge broke off. Any videos for this ? Thanks

Both my front doors won't unlock. Windows up.
