Nice one! Great to know that something that inexpensive, can take you into macro photography which is normally VERY expensive to get started. Nice work!
It's a full frame! It's a cheap lens on an expensive camera lol well not so much now, it's a bit older. I was quite surprised with the results. Thanks for watching!
This is sick! I have always wanted to try macro photography, without breaking the bank on new lenses. I did end up trying extension tubes a few years ago, but the results looked nothing like this. Great video dude!
I got to be honest, when first I saw the thumbnail of that wild looking set up of stepping rings it brought back memories of the awful results I got when I tried something similar back in the day. I was fully expecting you were going to have a similar experience, but your results really showed me wrong. Wow, honestly, I have taken a lot of photos of those little meadowhawk dragonflies and your results really don't look that much different than what I get out of the 100mm L macro lens. It looks like the quality of these filters has improved night and day since I last tried this kind of set up 15+ years ago. My results were awful, even with the Canon 500D close up filter that I tried after trying some of the cheaper options. I now swear by extension tubes as a macro alternative but they are still a lot more expensive than these (at least the Canon branded ones). I took a photo of a grasshopper just like yours last week with a 25mm tube on the 70-300mm L lens. I don't think we'd see much difference between your photo and mine life we printed them and posted them side by side.
Yea I was quite surprised by the results, it does help to use some denoise in lightroom but still. These photos were taken on 50mm lens and not even an l series but they're still quite sharp. I have yet to try extension tube's, but maybe that'll be a future video! Lol. Thanks so much for watching Chris! I love the input!

Thanks, I was surprised with the results! For the price that is lol
Really sharp, beautiful results!
Is that a 50mm lens on a crop sensor or full frame?

Awesome shot of the grasshopper🦗

I'm going to have to look into getting some of those.

Thanks so much! It's a great alternative, it also helps to denoise the photos a little bit, but I love the results! Thanks for watching!
