I thought of that after I posted my comment - he's been very well rewarded...and many people - who are just as talented/driven/genius - never make it - or become known posthumously - think of Vincent..etc. Life is pretty brutal. Bruce has been very blessed - lives an extraordinary life. But getting old sort of levels the playing field a little bit. Fake teeth, face lifts, personal trainers, private chefs can only do so much. Tick tock.

We’re living on a planet on the brink of devastation, where it’s hard to see any hope, yet every so often beauty shines through and rises us up. This song and video has done that for me today. When our world burns, when the floods take us out, when the last of the wildlife dies, we can remember that there were once beautiful songs written out of a man’s pain that made things better for a while. And that’s something. Thanks Bruce.

Dont worry too much about the planet. Laurie. Here in Sydney Australia we're having a spreading dry spell. Planet has been doing that since day o o thats double zouit. People have been making money out of doom watch foe ages. If your ever in Sydney look me up. I'll show you a spot that hasn't had rain in 11 years.Then it floods incessantly for the next 5 or 6. Lots of shady characters are making a living with the global warming franchise.

Perfectly sentimental. It feels sort of like Springsteen's version of Neil Young's "Prairie Wind". I live in Tucson, AZ and hear the Tucson train every night. The nostalgia on this record is almost painful...but then again, I'm old.

I read poetry sometimes but I listen to it everyday. In Milwaukee I was in the very front and center of the pit...right in that corner of the kickout and the main stage. I didn't dance and jump around, I didn't even sing much, I just stood there with this huge grin. I will never forget that day/night. March 7th 2023. Since 1978 EVERY show has been magic but this was, oh words fail me unlike Bruce's poetry. Thank You Bruce, Thank You for my sword and my shield.thanx for all of the people you've written that are my heart friends. Thank You for Black Cowboys, The Wish, Youngstown, She's the One, Restless Nights, Reason to Believe on and on and on

Springsteen begins a new chapter and it's a damn good one! His songwriting and vocals are in top form. If he continued in this direction until the end of his career I would NOT complain. There is so much art, beauty, poetry and amazing strings in Western Stars. He continues to re-invent himself, doing what his heart desires and not appeasing the masses. Bravo!

Not even close to Dylan, the stones or Beatles. All his songs have a too similar sound. His best works were his earliest works. It seems like he is on auto pilot now. I think he a great guy and I wish him well.

Comunque c’è da dire anche...che obiettivamente essendo un album completamente fuori catalogo springstiniano....rende tutto l’insieme decisamente più interessante e accattivante! Io onestamente non avrei mai immaginato un lavoro di questo genere.....sopratutto in versione solista...immaginate queste canzoni......(alcune eh..non proprio tutte sinceramente) suonate con la potenza e la fluidità della E Street band....con la sincronia e la capacità dei nostri eroi di una vita!!! Non vedo l’ora di ascoltarle dal vivo....non so voi....

After a few years of listening to this beautiful song I thought, hey!, his baby doesn’t ever arrive for him! That made sense to me once I heard Bruce say this is his Jimmy Webb album. Remember the lover who wakes up by the time her guy gets to Phoenix? She also never sees him again.
