I just bought the Acebeam K75 and I love it! IMO it outperforms the Astrolux concerning weight and allround usability. That's why it still is one of the best out there in this segment today!

That Weltool is a beast for its size wow! That Astrolux is just insane, I love it.
great piece of light. Super flashlight indeed. The video presentation is perfect. Is a super thrower, however the last distance shots over 2km doesn't really iluminate with clearness the target. Again, great video as always.

Have the BLF GT and the BLF GT70. Little disappointed with the 70, probably due to the placement of the LED with respect to the reflector. Would like to see a comparison to the MF05.

Highly doubt it
Considering the Acebeam K75 is half the battery capacity and about a thousand lumens less, it more than holds its own versus the Astrolux MF05. And today, if you test them both against the Weltool W4 Pro, the LEP will outthrow both. You'll just need binoculars for the W4 Pro.

No tripod this time around? Still waiting for a reply on whether you use the Sigma 1.4 16mm or 30mm? Is that the only lens you use? I picked up a Sony A6500 but finding it hard to rely on the auto focus at range, I now just use manual
A tripod was used in conjunction with a gimbal but the camera still shaked like mad in the wind. Way too windy to use it on just the flashlight. I use a 16mm. I think I always keep auto focus on but it struggles to focus in low light. Luckily on it's release it was the fastest focussing camera in the world.
And during the day? For bird in tree watching? Or looking for a missing person in shadowed fields?

I ordered a Acebeam K75 the other day after seeing these videos it seems like the best middle ground still being reasonably holdable but being incredibly powerful. It arrives on Monday so looking forward to seeing what it can do :) Slightly annoyed it doesn't have in torch charging like my other torches but other from that looks like a lot of fun :)
It's still the best long range thrower imo.

Exactly! The Acebeam K75 outperforms the Astrolux considering weight and clean light. As a thrower the K75 is IMO still the best allround thrower!

The problem is with the size ! ......The secret is taking a small light with a nice head like the Lumintop FW21 X9L and using dual 21700 cells and XBT 90.2 and turning that into a light you can carry with you every night !

Yeah, kept it but haven't used it, it isn't very accessible when put away in the bag. Tbh I'd not use the fandle anyway as SBT90.2 seems to stepdown too quickly anyway.
After all the disappointment with those SBT90.2 FT03s I'm surprised to see that the LED can live up to its reputation.

I use the weltool in the sewer systems. It is perfect for inspection of long pipe runs. The lack of spread makes it perfect for this task. Very good video. 🙏

Did you measure the throw at 70 seconds? Did you remove the protective cover?
Myself and Michaels Searchlights got around 2.89Mcd at 30 seconds.
It hadn't stepped down so throw at 70 secs would have been around 1.9Mcd. 2.89 is going some. It'll be interesting to see what Vinh measures as he nearly always gets what I get.

Michael uses a very expensive lux meter called Gosson Mavolux5032B to do his measurements. He got 2.88Mcd at 30 seconds. Testing was done at 8 meters.
I did mine at 20 meters and got 2.89Mcd. Must added my Sony batteries were charged at 4.35V.

Yeah I checked his site out earlier. Very surprised by that measurement, Astrolux are usually short on both their lumen and candela claims. 2.89 would probably equal well over 3 million cd at turn on, (power drops quickly with SBT90.2 over the first 3 seconds, usually 5-10%.) I just can't see it being that in my experience.

@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV your reading is definitely too low. Could be the performance of your MF05. The head is big and handle heat very well. Will definitely not drop 5 to 10% in 3 seconds for throw test from startup when still ambient temp. For small SBT90.2 flashlight like my Amutorch X45 definitely yes. Just to give you an example my TM39 drops in 30 seconds 2% from startup in throw. Just shows how good it handles heat. But yeah when it start getting hot then it will drop dramatically. The claimed 7500 is too high. Got around 5500 at startup.

What’s a good reasonably priced flashlight for inside the house to keep on the night stand beside the bed?
I use a Lumintop Geek keychain light as it has a warm white side light for reading and a cool white front light for lighting outside etc. It's fairly pricey though. I also have a Sofirn SP70 down the side of the bed as it's stupidly powerful, cheap and you can hit intruders with it. The nextool 6 in 1 is a good torch too with sidelight. With out a side light, the Sofirn IF25, Astrolux EC01, or Emisar D4V2 are all fun at a good price.
