I just came to know that the empty chair, the guitar, the candle, and the cross-faded footage of Alan Murphy (Level 42) playing in the closing choruses is a Kate Bush tribute to him, who worked with her (several albums) and died back in 1989 of AIDS. Kate pays tribute to where he would be standing playing his guitar if alive. What a good heart. Love U, Kate. xxx ❤❤❤
I was also wondering who that is a tribute to...Del Palmer just recently passed and it makes sense that she'd honor him but this is 5 years old...wonder who it is?
@@missybancroft6688 Hi, as I mentioned, it is a tribute to Alan Murphy (the "Level 42" guitarist) who played guitar in most of Kate's albums. He died of AIDS back in 1989.

It's often said that less is more... and the minimal bass lines and fills are testament to that! Thanks Kate for a memorable cover.
Kate has great fun conducting the fireworks exploding in the night sky. What wonderful imagination to think of doing that - pure genius.

Cool post my friend . I worked for Rockwell International on 3 shuttle projects . That day of profound loss ... was a BIG bottle of Jack Daniels and many cigarettes . I still think about it to this day . Take care Julian and live a long life - Make a positive difference .

One of my favourites on the Elton John album - I love that ending instrument (around 3:50), what is it?

It must be a modern version as I didn't spot a bag and the player doesn't use a mouthpiece. I would have thought it was a fiddle. I love the wild Celtic flair it adds at the end to a song about a wild-type guy.
