This is a great review. I love my 80D, and the 90D seems to just build off that. To me, it still has the best ergonomics (and I really like the top panel). As capable as I’m sure the R6 is, I’m not liking the 20mp sensor, or the price ($3500 Cdn). I’m likely going to get a discounted EOS R to have FF (30mp) RF Canon to start taking advantage of the RF lenses, and possibly a 90D for indoor sports, and getting a 640mm equivalent on my 100-400 lens. 90D and EOS R for same (or less) price than R6 :-)

I've been using the 70D for over 3 years. I think I will get this one next year before upgrading to Rich stuff like R6 + 100-500mm + 1.4x tele. Im a hobbyist birder and do not earn from photography.
Great review. Spot on. The 90D is not perfect, but it’s really good at a lot of things. There is no other Canon DSLR that has 30MP, 10FPS, uncropped 4K with dual pixel AF, 24 and 30 FPS, joystick, flip screen, weather seal, WiFi, Bluetooth, eye/face tracking, and touch screen. Canon is infamous for strategically leaving out key features to force people to upgrade to the next model. However, in this case, they nearly built the perfect DSLR. I suspect it may be because there won’t be a “next model”. This could be the best and last cropped sensor DSLR...
I’m rocking a T6i right now and I was about to upgrade to an 80D but I felt like it wasn’t much of an upgrade so now I’m getting the 90D! Shooting 4K should up the quality so much!
Hey there! Okay, so I have a really important question, as I am literally looking to purchase either the T8i or the 90D tomorrow. This question will solve my search: can the T8i take similar quality photos to those you showed at the start of this video? If so, the T8i is 100% the camera for me. I do not need those other improvements. If not, then I probably must get the 90D. Those photos are absolutely stunning and I have to have that quality for my purposes. If you could answer this, it would make my life so much easier. Thank you for your awesome videos.
Awesome review🙌 I’m uncertain whether should I buy Canon 90D or a mirrorless camera with the same budget🤔. Which camera do you think is the most value for money (budget around 1400-1600€) ?? (I use it for mainly for portrait & travel photography) Thanks in advance. Keep it up!!
The stock of 90Ds seem to be declining in the US - not sure if it's temporary due to the pandemic or not. I have a 20D with about $5K worth of lenses I bought in the middle of the 2000-10 decade. That was when I was single and no kids. I'm not currently able to afford replacing all my lenses with a mirrorless lineup equivalent, so I've just purchased a 90D. Rumors are the 90D is the last of the x0D lineup. Hopefully it will last me another 12-15 years- at the point my kids will be out of college and I can again afford an entire camera "system" (camera + lenses.)
Can't believe people still buy these. I sold my 80D over two years ago and went with Sony A73. I still have a 70D and 24-105 mm 4.0. I used it for video sometimes at my granddaughters softball games so I can use my A73 for photo's. Now I use my phone or Gopro more for video. No way would I use it for still photo's now. I had 4 Canon crop bodies and not one gave me a tack sharp image no matter what I did. Wasted 3 years chasing a sharp image and the look I wanted.
Have you ever considered a full tutorial on the 90D. Step by step for us who are still in the learning stages. I would definitely pay for one. Thank you and keep up the fantastic video's.

Awesome review. I'm thinking about purchasing this camera but I'm not sure as this would be my 1st camera with an interchangeable lens. I'd like to shoot landscapes and macro with it. Is this camera user friendly or is it a good camera for a beginner at this price point? Should I get a mirrorless instead? What would you recommend for a beginner? Great video BTW.
I've had a 70d for several years. 90d just on the way now. You've settled my mind here in my purchase. Super solid review with all info delivered perfectly clearly. Can't wait to try it out on some soccer video.
Great video! My dream is to get the 90D. I'm currently shooting with a T6i and want to upgrade, but the plan is to buy the Tamron, 90mm 2.8 macro lens and maybe a good general purpose lens (Canon 17-50 2.8 or the Sigma equivelent), plus some flash gear, before upgrading the camera body. I can't do it all at the same time financially: I'm a rich man who was born in a poor man's body, unfortunately.
After I have seen many videos where the 90d was smashed I came here. And sadly I have to agree with those smashers to some extend. Canon could have improved the optical viewfinder as you said and it would have been an awesome DSLR or they could have shoved a DSLM into the 90d housing and it would have been an awesome DSLM at least for the price tag. However, that never happened. But does that make it a bad camera? I don't think so. There are better options for professional users no question. But for what it is, it's an excellent camera. Maybe it just doesn't fit your needs.
What do you think of the 90d compared to something like the R6? I have a 90d, but was kinda hyped about the R6 features and the chance to go mirrorless
Looking to start photography as a hobby and looking to get my first camera. I’m currently contemplating on picking this as my unit. Curious on if there are any alternative lenses to pick up that are a bit more cost efficient than the canon lenses? Is this a good camera to purchase and grow with? What are the top 2 to 3 lenses to pick up? All feed back is welcomed. @ me
Micheal the Maven mentioned the best lenses for this camera. There's some great used lenses on Adorama. I trust their rating system. Good luck and happy shooting 😊👍
I really like my 90D, I don’t care if it’s big, I’m a big guy with man hands. Ergonomically perfect. Plus I’ve been noticing ML cameras are getting bigger every year. Maybe 5 years from now I’ll go ML once it surpasses dslrs in every way and grows it’s lenses.
This camera is a great compromise for those who work in a studio and might get a 5D Mark IV or would otherwise get a 7D Mark II for sports. In a studio you don't have to worry about the crop because you typically use higher f stops anyway. I would've gotten one except that I already had a studio camera in my 5DSR.
Great video. I just bought one of these and I absolutely love it. And I prefer DSLR cameras myself. I have big hands, so mirrorless cameras are just too small and cramped.
Hello Ralph! Great review! As a novice in the photography world, I'm having a hard time deciding between a 90d and an older 80d. I was hoping there would be a bigger used market for the 90d, but the prices have stayed fairly consistent, whereas the 80d can be picked up for around $600. And since I have no lenses, having the extra available funds for lenses would be nice. For someone wanting to start up a photography hobby and possibly a RUclips channel, is the cost of the 90d over the 80d justifiable knowing it won't be for any professional work?
I got 80d and I just hop in to see what you think about 90d. Cant go for higher end mirrorless at the moment. I'm 50-50 into photo and video work, so one lens that you suggest with 90d. Thanks for the review

Thanks for sharing this I always thought about the 90d because everyone counts it out but it’s still a great option just not sure if I would pick it over the m6 mark ii
Have had my 90D for two days now and, using my current handful of Canon lenses, it's more fun than my 7D (first edition). I'll have to decide whether to trade up or keep....trading up would be R5 and 3 grand more...anyone that get's the 90D try it out with some good Canon lenses, you'll be surprised.
Hi, I need to replace my old 7D (1st edition) now too and am considering between 90D and 7D mii. I would really like a camera with flip screen as the 90D has so I don't have to lay in the mud as much but heard the 7D mii has better autofocus when it comes to photographing movement. Since my 7D is so vintage lol I can't find any reviews about 7D vs 90D (or 7D mii) and would really like to know how the 90D compares to the 7D. Can you tell me your thoughts?
Hello!! I have the Canon 90D. I saw a lot of reviews before I bought the Canon. Now that I have the Canon, I'm having trouble connecting with the tether cable on the monitor because it just won't connect to Lightroom or Capture One. How do you stream images to a monitor on set?
In a part of the video, it was mentioned that this model's higher resolution and crop sensor give it an edge in macro photography. That makes perfect sense and is quite intriguing. However, I'm curious if the crop sensor could be a drawback for techniques like focus stacking. Are there any differences in the stacked image output between crop sensor and full-frame cameras? Could we say that full-frame cameras generally produce more flawless results when using focus stacking?
Thank you for the video. I am at the point that I would like to upgrade my 70D. Because I do night photography I am thinking that it would be better to go with a full frame. The crop factor can be a problem when wanting to take wide photos. But the camera seems pretty amazing to me.
what lens did u use for the portraits with the car ?! superb ! ps : i never use the ovf on my 90D as i found out too it was harder to get proper focus & even so the images were a little more soft than in liveview ... def going FF hybrid next time i change.
Im considering buying this camera for (underwater) wildlife photography, but I'm wondering how loud the shutter is. I've heard from other photographers that dslrs can be too loud underwater and scare/disturb the wildlife
I had the money to buy the R5 but I bought the 90D 70-200mm 2.8L III & 1.4TC. What a combo they are Portraits, Sports & Wildlife are my targets it smashes them all incredibly.
Canon 70D and 80D was Good In The Prime of Casey Neistat's Prime Time. But today the Full Frame have Came down in Price many times compared to years of past. I've been using the 70D for over 3 years. I think I will get this one next year before upgrading to Rich stuff like R6 + 100-500mm + 1.4x tele.
Im a hobbyist birder and do not earn from photography.
I have owned the 70D, 80D & now 90D the 90D is light years ahead of the other two!. Buy a fast SD card that buffer goes fast in Raw!.
Thanks for the review. One of the best on 90D I could find on YT. Would love to see more samples of 4K video.
Hi. The time limit for video recording set in 29:59 min is because if the camera reaches 30:00 min then the item will be charged with more taxes.
I've got the 90D and it's awesome!
one of the best reviews on youtube .. gonna get this i have the 80d .. .. time for an upgrade
Yeah, people like to complain about everything nowadays, but if you focus on the positives, it's a great camera.
I’m rocking a T6i right now and I was about to upgrade to an 80D but I felt like it wasn’t much of an upgrade so now I’m getting the 90D! Shooting 4K should up the quality so much!
"Jack of all trades, but master of none, but still much better than just a master of one".
I have an 90D since it came out and it rocks both for videos and stills. Great camera for sure.
Thank you. The short answer is, yes. I’d save the extra money and spend it on lenses.
maybe youtube is changing the video, but the 90D pictures did not look noticeably sharper or less noisier than these of 80D. pretty much the same.
Yeah, I mean most cameras are so good nowadays, I have to really push the cameras to show the difference and RUclips compression doesn't help.
The 90D is an amazing camera. I have never regretted my purchase... The EOS R6 is tempting though.. lol
Great video, i love this camera so much. Do you think in 2022 its good ti buy for doing most still life ?
Thanks, I don’t see why not unless you want mirrorless. What do you use now?
Can't believe people still buy these. I sold my 80D over two years ago and went with Sony A73. I still have a 70D and 24-105 mm 4.0. I used it for video sometimes at my granddaughters softball games so I can use my A73 for photo's. Now I use my phone or Gopro more for video. No way would I use it for still photo's now. I had 4 Canon crop bodies and not one gave me a tack sharp image no matter what I did. Wasted 3 years chasing a sharp image and the look I wanted.
you want sharp images? use prime lens
Have you ever considered a full tutorial on the 90D. Step by step for us who are still in the learning stages. I would definitely pay for one. Thank you and keep up the fantastic video's.
Thank you. My camera was a rental so I don’t have it with me anymore but check out this video. Should be very thorough. ruclips.net/video/d2yZSLmEUAk/видео.html

Thanks so much Hyun for your review of the 90D, I've got the 6d Markii and 7d Markii, but have heard such amazing things about the 90D I am considering adding this camera to my bag.
4:23 it being weather shield is good to know 👌🙃
90D!!!?! I'm officially outdated in the camera world! Last known D series I owned was a 40D. It was my go to camera for everything !!! Good to see ya ralph!! I'll wait for a 100D one day!!! Lol
Bro... we already have a 200D... 100D has already been replaced. ^_^
100D Canon known in the US as the SL1
Great review! Does it have Bluetooth?
Awesome review. I'm thinking about purchasing this camera but I'm not sure as this would be my 1st camera with an interchangeable lens. I'd like to shoot landscapes and macro with it. Is this camera user friendly or is it a good camera for a beginner at this price point? Should I get a mirrorless instead? What would you recommend for a beginner? Great video BTW.
I've had a 70d for several years. 90d just on the way now. You've settled my mind here in my purchase. Super solid review with all info delivered perfectly clearly. Can't wait to try it out on some soccer video.
Thanks for clarifying things a ton!
Definitely getting one of these for the arsenal!
I'm actually surprised. A useful gear review.
I'm currently saving to buy one in december :D
So am I!!!
Did u get it
So, you bought it ?
Yessss I'm so happy :D this camera is awesome!!
@@Dianoskilicious congrats 😁 good luck
After I have seen many videos where the 90d was smashed I came here. And sadly I have to agree with those smashers to some extend. Canon could have improved the optical viewfinder as you said and it would have been an awesome DSLR or they could have shoved a DSLM into the 90d housing and it would have been an awesome DSLM at least for the price tag. However, that never happened. But does that make it a bad camera? I don't think so. There are better options for professional users no question. But for what it is, it's an excellent camera. Maybe it just doesn't fit your needs.
Best 90d review.
Definitely
What do you think of the 90d compared to something like the R6? I have a 90d, but was kinda hyped about the R6 features and the chance to go mirrorless
The only thing the 90D was missing for me was the All I codec
Yeah, I noticed. But I'm not sophisticated enough to see the difference. Especially for RUclips.
Awesome vid 😃😃 ...what's ur openion on buying this cam for yt vlogging and how about the stabilization 😃
the 4k uncrop is so nice
first! thanks for teach so good content dude I´m from El Salvador !!!
I have owned it from 2019 now its great
Looking to start photography as a hobby and looking to get my first camera.
I am considering buying these or a markV!
5D mark V? I don’t know if there will be one to be honest. Just get this now and sell if when it comes out :)
@@HyunRalphJeong oh sorry my mistake, I meant the Mark iv :)
The four k is the best better than my T6i , I needed this 90d for sport photography and portrait.
I got one for almost a year and I love it...
Would the 90D be good for sports photography? I'm looking to upgrade from the SL2.
Yeah the burst mode would be very useful for you
I Just Bought this and Have It Today. Ill try this soon
Great video. I just bought one of these and I absolutely love it. And I prefer DSLR cameras myself. I have big hands, so mirrorless cameras are just too small and cramped.
Apart from the 50mm what other lenses should I buy, that I can use in the future with a full frame camera too?
Thank you for your honesty and great useful feedback. I am lookig for a new camera and this is one of the options I am considering. You have a new sub.
Really good review, does it have dual pixel focus in 4k crop mode ?
Thanks for sharing this I always thought about the 90d because everyone counts it out but it’s still a great option just not sure if I would pick it over the m6 mark ii
The Canon 90D is my go to now !
I sold 2 80Ds to buy the 90D and it was worth it!
Use the app but sometimes it can be the cord
if u are not portrait photography i think i pick this for overall daily life.. . or different styles of Photography. ..& Videography.
Still use my 40D. Highlight recovery is awesome on that one.
Is it still a good buy? Or should i look into a different model?
Depends on what you like and what you shoot. Most cameras are pretty good nowadays so you just need to find the specs you need.
Thank you for the video. I am at the point that I would like to upgrade my 70D. Because I do night photography I am thinking that it would be better to go with a full frame. The crop factor can be a problem when wanting to take wide photos. But the camera seems pretty amazing to me.
Which one is. Better canon 90 d or 7 d for nature photography
what lens did u use for the portraits with the car ?! superb ! ps : i never use the ovf on my 90D as i found out too it was harder to get proper focus & even so the images were a little more soft than in liveview ... def going FF hybrid next time i change.
Im considering buying this camera for (underwater) wildlife photography, but I'm wondering how loud the shutter is. I've heard from other photographers that dslrs can be too loud underwater and scare/disturb the wildlife
It isnt too bad, i have had mine a week and played around with the shutter there is a silent shutter setting also
I was very close to buying one until the R6 came on the market lol
completely different price range.
Different sensor size, different types of cameras, too.
What is better 90d or R6 ??
@@hamzaaloul1739 Whichever you can afford. The R6 is twice the price of the 90.
I had the money to buy the R5 but I bought the 90D 70-200mm 2.8L III & 1.4TC. What a combo they are Portraits, Sports & Wildlife are my targets it smashes them all incredibly.
Great review! Thank you very much for this video.
Nice video my friend. Thumps up form Germany
Canon 70D and 80D was Good In The Prime of Casey Neistat's Prime Time.
But today the Full Frame have Came down in Price many times compared to years of past.
And It makes more Sense due to Low Weight to Get a New Camera that is Also Mirrorless.
In the End - guys go Try a Nikon Z6 - A Full Frame no Crop Image Sensor Camera with 4k as well as Great color science and autofocus.
