Thank you for your video series on Canon 90D . I bought this gem last week. In fact, it features the best of both worlds i.e., DLSR & MILC. I also use 1DIV & 7D for wildlife photography. On 90D, I like the high-rez feature for more crops of bird images. Secondly, sometimes I stack 2 extenders on EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II to make it 1344mm f/8 and still get AF in live view. Normally, I use EF 300mm 2.8 + 2x for random high speed bursts at 960mm through the view finder.
Hi Tomas. I bought my first 90D in 2019 and a second one in 2021. They are awesome, especially for wildlife and aircraft photography which are my prime subjects. I pair them with an EF 100-400mm L zoom and a Sigma 150-600mm zoom. Both bodies and lenses perform brilliantly. As you point out, the ability to crop so aggressively is amazing. I print at home to A3+ size, but have no problems having prints made to far bigger dimensions if required. Maybe this is the time to take a jump, specially if I don't have to buy lenses or adapters. Thank you Thomas, your enthusiasm about this machine, gave me the little push i needed.
Nice one mate. I would add the very good battery life of the 90D as well. I once took 1500 photos over a 5 hour period without turning the camera off, no auto shut off, rear screen set to display info and always on. Only used around 40% of the battery. I also shot a series of music videos, with an 80D and 90D as the two stationary camera angles. The 80D needed the battery swapped and the 90D still had 30% battery life left. It is a pretty big improvement over even the previous generation.

True but until you use it yourself then you'll know how great the camera is. I was still able to take good pictures at night with this camera, that being said I've been practicing with phone cameras and been watching tutorials so when I see people upload pictures taken with the 90D that is too grainy I always wonder how they were able to do that, because I know I'm not a professional but my shots don't suck that bad as what I see sometimes and I've only had the camera for a week now.

I am strictly a landscape shooter and looking for a new Canon camera. What are your opinions on a good camera for landscape photography. Not rich enough for a R5 but also don’t want to go cheap and regret it in a couple years. TY
Honestly? I am a long time Nikon man going all the way back to the Nikon F. But my Nikon D90 died. My sister gave me her Canon Ti7 and I bought a Sigma 18-300 for it but the Ti7 died, so I invested in a Canon 90D. Have spent most of the summer to now using it and I must say I am impressed with it. Great results so far, especially from my fall folliage shoots, amazing color. My only problem so far is with the editing program. My puter has only a 4gb ram though so that is part of the reason for the problems, like hang up etc. But the biggest part of the problems are with Microsoft OS. My puter originally was Win 8 and of course they had to make us upgrade to 10. Every time I get the updates? It really messes up the program and then I have to run a backwards compatibility to Win 8. Otherwise? I guess Nikon will be pissed for me saying this? But Canon 90D? Beats my Nikon D90 by a mile. Only change I would like to see with it is a little better weather proofing.
I don't usually use a tripod (if you are referring to my on camera appearence I just used a small Zomei tripod). For other assignments I will use my manfrotto. For the camera recording me here it is a Canon Sl2
I would like to ask if Canon can do a firmware update to give me a choice for silent shutter with view finder. I have scared off many a bird with the shutter noise. I am old school and find using the live view for photos difficult getting used too.
I have tried the R6 and own the R5. The R5 is the best camera I’ve ever shot with and I use for all my professional video work. I will do a review about it eventually
Hi, i have t7i and would like to upgrade to a higher resolution, i am looking for general use , portrait , wildlife , and landescape which i do like the most. And it will be better if i get a aps-c camera that I’ll be able to use my old lenses with it that’s why i want to know whether is 90D good and sharp for landescape or not. Because I’m on a tight budge. Thanks
One worry about ergonomics / button placement. The preview button moved way down towards the bottom vs where it was on my 70D, which was near where the thumb naturally sits. On the 90D does it get tiresome having to move your thumb way down to the preview button or is that not a motion that comes into play as often as I'm imagining?
The sony is a mean video machine! It has better video capabilities. However if it is photo you are after (wildlife especially) the 90D is the best choice.
It would have been twice the camera had it been full frame as it's average at best in low light. I've had it 6 months now and I prefer my old 6D for image quality to be honest, you get "crazy sharp shots" only with expensive new glass - something anyone thinking of buying a 90D should think long and hard about. Better going for the R5 or R6 I think.
Let's do the math: because of the crop factor the 600mm lens becomes a 960mm lens. The image size of the 90D is 6960x4640px. If you want the equivalent of a 2000mm lens, you have to crop the image with a factor of 2000/960, giving you a 3340x2227px image (that's appr. 7.4 MP). I myself am very much into bird photography and do this sort of cropping regularly, even sometimes to 2500px wide, after which I enlarge to 3840px wide (my main output is my 4K TV) by using Topaz Gigapixel, that can give stunning results.
@@tmjcbs, I was thinking of buying a Nikon P950 / P1000 but I would buy a 90D + Sigma 150-600mm instead, it would have better quality despite the loss of zoom, but with crop I imagine getting at least 2,000mm from a P950 and you just confirmed that lol ... Of course, I will have a loss in total quality but nothing to scare, lol ... Thank you very much friend, it helped me a lot. Big hug, success !!!
Depends on what you're shooting. I think the 90D will be better for wildlife and it has better video than both the other options. On the other hand the other two options are best for portraits and landscape.
I think you're talking about the battery grip. It gives you an extra grip that can be useful when turning the camera 90 degrees, it let's you use 2 batteries at the same time, which effectively doubles your battery life.
I have the 77D and want to upgrade to the 90D. I learned that the 90D, like the 77D, is only good with ISO 1600 or lower. Higher ISO creates a lot of noise. Even Topaz Denoise AI can't help much. I'm waiting for the rumored R7.
Inbody stabalisation doesn't exist on the 90D, if you're a photographer, that doesn't really matter as most telephoto lenses which are prone to extreme shake already have at least one IS setting and canera shake is basically non existent on wider lenses. If you're a videographer it can be a bigger deal as you can't exactly freeze a frame, so most people just rely of gimbals or tripods to offer more stable video.
It's a beast... but only if you're using the right lenses... try a simple/cheaper or older lens then you are using in your videos, and you might have a focus problem... ;-)

Great Video, I have two questions.
What Tripod are you using? At 05:39 and what camera and lens are you using while recording you sitting down?
I don't usually use a tripod (if you are referring to my on camera appearence I just used a small Zomei tripod). For other assignments I will use my manfrotto. For the camera recording me here it is a Canon Sl2
Do you use the Sigma 150 to 600 mm on your Canon 90 D and if you do can you do a video about the settings you use thank you
Wow 90d, iloveit👌👍
In 2024 which is a better choice, the 90D or the R7? And why?
Hii mate!! Can you tell me best lens for 90d.. thanks in advance
I would like to ask if Canon can do a firmware update to give me a choice for silent shutter with view finder. I have scared off many a bird with the shutter noise. I am old school and find using the live view for photos difficult getting used too.
Have you tried the R3, R5 and R6? I also own a 90D, and I just wanna know your comparison between those cameras.
I have tried the R6 and own the R5. The R5 is the best camera I’ve ever shot with and I use for all my professional video work. I will do a review about it eventually
@@tomaskoeck okay, that's great. looking forward to that video soon👍
Hi, i have t7i and would like to upgrade to a higher resolution, i am looking for general use ,
portrait , wildlife , and landescape which i do like the most. And it will be better if i get a aps-c camera that I’ll be able to use my old lenses with it that’s why i want to know whether is 90D good and sharp for landescape or not. Because I’m on a tight budge. Thanks
Yeah it's sharp, just make sure to set the camera to a tigher aperature for landscapes to decrease the likelihood of getting out of focus parts.
I have to get one ❤️❤️❤️
One worry about ergonomics / button placement. The preview button moved way down towards the bottom vs where it was on my 70D, which was near where the thumb naturally sits. On the 90D does it get tiresome having to move your thumb way down to the preview button or is that not a motion that comes into play as often as I'm imagining?
What that base mount? Where to buy that?
Hey dude
Do you recommend 90d for video works rather than buying Sony a7iii.
Thats what ive heard too
Need expensive glass in order to get great pics
what is the second piece to our camera in the bottom body?
Awesome video
With a 600mm lens, can you get a 2000mm crop in editing?
Im not sure what you are asking, are you talking about a 200% crop? At least in my country we do not refer to cropping in millimeters.
What do you think about 1 slot memory card in this camera?
Which camera you think is the best all arounder 90D/6DMKII/RP ??
Depends on what you're shooting. I think the 90D will be better for wildlife and it has better video than both the other options. On the other hand the other two options are best for portraits and landscape.
Awesome
It is a beast! 🇭🇳
Whats the base thing you attached to the camera
I think you're talking about the battery grip. It gives you an extra grip that can be useful when turning the camera 90 degrees, it let's you use 2 batteries at the same time, which effectively doubles your battery life.
Tomas I have 2 plus a 80 D
What about ISO ? if for exemple, i want make astro shooting ?
I have the 77D and want to upgrade to the 90D. I learned that the 90D, like the 77D, is only good with ISO 1600 or lower. Higher ISO creates a lot of noise. Even Topaz Denoise AI can't help much. I'm waiting for the rumored R7.
What grip battery model can I use with my 90D? Thanks!
bg-e14
90D or A6600?
i was unpleasantly surprised that its Video is less sharp and not by a little then GH5 and Sony 6000 series . The rest of it is ok .
What the name that extended down
Battery Grip, doubles the battery life by allowing ya to use two batteries at a time, and adds an extra grip.
Canon 90d is still the best😀
Canon 90D Will probably be my last DSLR ?
90D or R6?
Depends on what you are shooting!
@@tomaskoeck everything 😆
What about stabilization?!?
Inbody stabalisation doesn't exist on the 90D, if you're a photographer, that doesn't really matter as most telephoto lenses which are prone to extreme shake already have at least one IS setting and canera shake is basically non existent on wider lenses. If you're a videographer it can be a bigger deal as you can't exactly freeze a frame, so most people just rely of gimbals or tripods to offer more stable video.
Im working my ass of with Uber eats so i can buy this bad boy!
That’s awesome! Keep at it!
It's a beast... but only if you're using the right lenses... try a simple/cheaper or older lens then you are using in your videos, and you might have a focus problem... ;-)
90d or eos rp?
Depends on what you are shooting!

Hello, sir; I created my log picture profile for Canon Cameras (Test Version) with rec709 LUT, so you won't have to waste your time doing color-correction. Are you interested in trying it? It would help me improve my project if you could share your opinion. I can send both the Log and the rec709 LUTs for free.
