Great video Ben. I love PGR, I use it on the front lawn cut at 1/2”, has a lot of good benefits. Going to try it out on the back yard this year that I keep at 2”’s. Your lawn looks amazing.
Ben...got my baseball cap a couple days ago - what awesome quality..it's the best baseball cap I've ever had. My turn to help you out with your garden beds - you are constantly having weed issues in your gardens because you spray glysophate. When you spray glysophate you allow the plant to drop seed making your problem worse. You also kill off many beneficial micro and macro organisms. If you truly want to get your garden beds under control you have to hand weed.......use a garden hand trowel or garden knife to lightly loosen the soil around the root ball and remove as much root as possible being careful not to drop seed if the plant is in seed.......then you will need to gently till in a quality garden mix - something known to be weed free....And when I mean something known - you want soils made from sub soils and wood chips....you never want to use soils made from 'green waste'....cause you are just getting back what you gave them. A non-coloured natural mulch is best, however if you do want a coloured mulch make sure it's made with safe bio-degradable dye's. Also...always to a minimum depth of 100mm for the moisture retention. Please don't think that mulch will suppress weeds....that's is not what mulch is intended to do - mulch is intended to act like 'leaf-litter', to retain moisture and break down creating new nutrients.....turning into new soil......this is why hand weeding is so very important....when you hand weed you remove the plant as soon as it shoots - getting it before it has time to seed...it takes a couple of seasons but you will get on top of them..you will also have really healthy soil for your plants.......what will happen when your soil starts to become healthy......you will get micro and macro organisms and birds will go crazy digging the mulch all over the lawn - this is the only down side of having healthy garden beds......
You can do some sugarcane mulch. It is a bit sloppy though but It does breaks down quite well. You’re coming up to winter and you’ll want to keep things simple for now. Just wet it on occasion. It’s easy on the mower blades too.
Long needle pine straw seems to be all the rage instead of mulch in murica this season, not sure if u can get it in nz or aus but apparently it's cheap easy to install and no chunky bits of crap on the lawn that will smash ur blades up
Yo mate, can you do a video in jar tests when mixing fert/chems? What to look for etc. I know you mix a lot, but I know some things don't like to be mixed like some liquid irons.
Hey Ben, great vid. 3 weeks ago I did a reasonably heavy sand/level of my Santa Ana. Where the sand was a bit lighter- it’s great. Heaps of growth. The heavy patches are slow. I can’t really mow as I pull up too much sand so I’ve just been trimming with power rotary scissors. Almost daily Would pgr with a high nitrogen fert help me here?
Raise your garden beds up a few inches by adding some sandy loam, brickies sand etc. If possible add in some organic matter , $ 3 dollar bags of compost stuff from bunning are good, , dig all this loam and compost in to soil with spade or mattock ,i like to use a natural forest mulch with lots of leaf/small sticks etc if possible as it breaks down quicker than wood chips and adds to soil structure , make it at least 6 inches thick and redo every year.
Need help here Ben. I'm having the same issues. Worms are coming up after spring rains leaving huge ugly worm mounds on top of my Tahoma 31 lawn making the yard look awful.
Question. I know it's not the type of grass you usually do vids of but can you use pgr on buffalo(sir walter specifically) for the same effect? Edit : Shouldn't have jumped the gun. Excellent complete content as per usual.
Can anyone help me ? I was just wondering do you bring your lawn height up in cooler months or do you cut it shorter? (In comparison to summer) I’ve seen both but not sure ? Thanks
Depends on the species and if you continue to use it season long. There has been field tests and you are correct it has been inconclusive on bentgrass. My lawn has definitely slowed down here though, no doubt about it.
Use a moisture mulch mate not black mulch as its paint and goes back into your soil base. Moisture mulch has all the ingredients to recondidtion your existing garden beds over time. Tanbark chips are great for aesthetics but hold no nutritional value what so ever (and they blow around) Cheers
Even though my lawn is basically just rocks and plants, I find this channel really interesting and watch your new videos lol
Great video Ben. I love PGR, I use it on the front lawn cut at 1/2”, has a lot of good benefits. Going to try it out on the back yard this year that I keep at 2”’s. Your lawn looks amazing.
2:21 tested... proven to make grass healthier
Good lookin out. Never applied before so I’ll try the half rate 👍🏼
Can you do dailies some of us 🇺🇸 are stuck inside for a couple weeks. Cheers!
Same here in the Netherlands. 🇳🇱
I don't have a lawn, and I love your videos so much
Stunning results.
Lawn is looking great can’t wait till spring is here in the US
you have the right idea with black mulch.. I work for high-end residential landscape/hardscape company and we only use black :) looks amazing
Lawn is looking sweet!
9:00 that sky though 😍
Solid tip on the liquid iron mixed into the PGR. That’s what I normally do, nice and green...
Lots of awesome info in this video.
Looking very nice! Great info & way better than any and all the constant corona news.

I love the continued referencing the labels. So many just WAG it and then complain about the problems they have with products.
Great videos, Ben!
Nice little chip and run mate. Go black mulch... good gear, got in my garden beds
Some good info re the PGR for warm season grasses. Thanks.
Pgr is awesome we use it on are green at my work
Will this help with slowing down bahia seed growth?
Is this good for buffalo in shady areas that are struggling to thicken? I got some.patches
Looking mint bro!
We are taking up our woodchip mulch and changing to who flung dung from bunnings and waldecks
The song on 7:45 Daniel Gunnarsson Light em up
You mentioned in another vid that the PGR Spray controls the Rhynzomes that sprout from Kikuyu. But haven’t said anything more. Is this correct?
Great Video, thanks. Do you need to use a surfactant in the spray?
Getting feisty with Ur intros 😂 that roll was acrobatic
Can we get an update video on the bore?
Use the water saver mulch from bunnings and mix it with the garden soil mulch. Works a treat. And looks far better than bark
Where do you get your iron or recommend what iron to use?
You can do some sugarcane mulch. It is a bit sloppy though but It does breaks down quite well. You’re coming up to winter and you’ll want to keep things simple for now. Just wet it on occasion. It’s easy on the mower blades too.
is PGR just as helpful on tall fescue as your rye... even though normal tall fescue does not grow laterally unless it is Rhizomatous tall fescue.
Look at that colour.. 🥰

i prefer the look of mulch and find pine messier and also attracts bugs especcially bad if you have animals bc one of those it attracts are fleas
Do you know how much PGR to mix per litre of water?
What blades do you recomend for rotary mowers?
Thanks for that its very helpful indeed can PGR also be used to slow a murraya hedge growth? If yes how much to use please. Thanks.
Cheeky tiff tuff mow 👌🏼

I know you mix a lot, but I know some things don't like to be mixed like some liquid irons.
Where do you buy this PGR?
Hey Ben, I have some pgr that's about 3 years old as it's a 1L bottle do you think it wouldn't be as effective
I don’t even have a lawn but great lawn tip vid

Would pgr with a high nitrogen fert help me here?
Right on about the half rates on initial PGR use. Used on Buffalo 6 weeks ago at full rate and no growth to date. Is wearing thin:(

Would pgr help couch with seed heads? Mine is going crazy with seed heads and very annoying but pgr is really expensive :(
Will the product pollute your ground water if you keep using it?
Started my first application last week and doing it every 3wks till summer. I'm running 1/3 rate
can you use pgr on any type of lawn?
What kind of boots are those? cause they look comfortable.
Im gonna guess Steel Blue's 😂
Can we please have some mowing and watering videos!
You could try rubber mulch it’s made from recycled rubber
I need your help. My lawn has so many worms that it is messing up my level and creating soft spots and scats everywhere. Any ideas.
Need help here Ben. I'm having the same issues. Worms are coming up after spring rains leaving huge ugly worm mounds on top of my Tahoma 31 lawn making the yard look awful.
Have you thought of installing a fertigator?

What’s the HOC on the Bermuda chipping area?
Elliott Huff 5mm at the moment. Will be taking it to 3mm next season.
Great Vid Ben. How much N (grams) do you recommend per m2 when applying PGR? I know this will mean working out the density of the liquid :)
Sus out Neuteog- Whoflungdung mulch is pretty awesome
Great content man keep it up!
Yep #1
How many times you been walking to your shed bro 😂
What can I say. Great info.
A red mulch would look just as nice
I use PGR's but studies say it only reduces growth about 20% so if you mow 5 times a months, it may save you 1 mowing.
Depends on the species and if you continue to use it season long. There has been field tests and you are correct it has been inconclusive on bentgrass.
My lawn has definitely slowed down here though, no doubt about it.
Did you ever find anything that slows down the rate it grows by a lot 😂
@@robertgatlin819 haha yeah, roundup
I can see the grass literally getting longer right @ 0:00
Are these treatments safe if I have animals? I want a green yard but not if it dangers my dog’s health.
Jesse Racine They sure are. Just make sure the area is dry before you let them back in.

Ive never thought of my yard as a plant lol
Do not apply to Kentucky Bluegrass LOL How is Josh's lawn going :P
The colour will eventually come out of most coloured mulch after probably 12 months
Last Aussie 😁
There is someone hacking your link to the PGR.
Not a bad way to end a day at the "office" - work on your short game!
Last
Not trying to be mean I’m just saying you should
