- Sabine Schmitz & BMW M5, a legendary duo. I bought this 1 of 1364 6-speed E60 M5s at an auction. It arrived dead with a see-through bottom end and a locked engine. I proceeded to revive it fully, and dedicate its revival to one and only, Sabine Schmitz and her V10 M5 Ring Taxi.

Man sad.
Man watches video of M539.
Man forgets every problem in the world for 1 hour and 18 minutes.
Man happy.
Man may have been happier, had he done something himself rather than, watch someone else doing something = man lazy!
@@user-ef5dw8bl5v You are dumb!
@@user-ef5dw8bl5v 😂
Have to admit I felt a bit of added moisture in my eyes when the tribute was fully revealed. That is a thing of beauty and such a fantastic tribute to Sabine. Awesome job !
100% agree
Yes, it reminded me of that one time i cut an onion 🥲
Well said pal
You're soft brother
Well said. ❤
The laying under a car, laughing deliriously when things aren't going your way, using your leg to operate the jack, man...we can all relate to Sreten on that one, we've all been there. The giggle during the first drive makes it all worth it!
This is definitely our favorite project of yours and the best ending we could have imagined with the tribute to Sabine. Well done. Can't wait to host you here in Va at BimmerWorld soon!
"Came from the factory with a CEL on" - Jason must be confusing this beautiful piece of BMW engineering with a VW!
Hey now, @BimmerWorldMedia - I... uh... nvm. You're right.
The first paragraph had me laughing because I feel it so much with some of the things I’ve done on my E92 335i N54 😅 especially when I was doing suspension and rear wheel bearings. Mostly the bearings were a NIGHTMARE!
Thanks for the shout Sreten!!
What a blast it was meeting you and hanging out during the week! 335k miles now and counting;)
Honestly i don't understand how you made a 1 hour video feel like 5 minutes. Love your content Sreten and keep up the great work! Love the tribute to Sabine.
He does that every goddamn time!
Sabine tribute was a truly amazing idea 🔥
Without a doubt, each time Sreten puts out another episode featuring an s85 another enthusiast gets closer to bringing himself into debt to buy an E60 M5. What an episode!
Thanks to your videos I contracted the same illness and bought myself an e39 530i, which had been taken down by the dreaded oil pump failure. Amazingly, the engine is healthy and all I had to do was service the oil pump and swap rod bearings. I've put over 3000km on it already and I'm loving it. Thank you Sreten, without these videos I would've never had the bravery to even try.
How was your mechanical knowhow pre bearing change? My heart wants an E90 M3 but my wallet wants nothing to do with it so wanted to get one I could work one
1:07:01 that german engineer accent is just totally nailed by Jason 🤣 lovely journey and video, thank you Sreten
"the previous owner had a pet tiger or a very hairy wife" bruh 😂😂
Sabine would love that, what a great way to honor her! Thanks for all the work and effort Sreten, as always! 😊
I was sitting at home, in the doldrums, when along you came and added the sparkle back to my day.
Your attitude and the Sabine taxi lifted me.
Thanks.
I had the honor and the pleasure to ride beside Sabine in an E60 M5 on an airfield in Germany. She did not hold back and in the second or third corner we spun off the track, mowing down a taxi light. She just laughed, drifted back on track, lit the tires and off we went... what a blast...
this is immediately a certified hood classic, what an absolute legend. what a project, what a series.
This series has been perfection. Reviving a legendary BMW against all odds giving tribute to Sabine has been wonderful too watch. Plus, you and Jason make a great team! Looking forward to the next idea you cook up together!
Lovely that you honour Sabine! Great work my man
You are not just one of the best mechanics …. You are an artist and entertainer as well. Extraordinary. Very entertaining. Love and respect from Frankfurt/ Germany.
I shed a few tears over the livery, and a few hundred more hearing her voice again. RIP to such a beautiful human being, and kudos to you for....all of this. Thank you!
Such a bittersweet ending to an amazing series. I can't imagine leaving a beautiful project like that behind but it sounds like it is going to a great home.
The incredible and sad thing at the same time is that no EV will ever be able to generate the feelings, emotions, fascination, and passion that there is in the world of combustion engines and related events. Sreten's passion is unique and ignites the hearts of BMW fans and “real” car enthusiasts in general. None of this exists in the EV world, it is all fake and aseptic, there is no passion or love. There are the same feelings that people might have for a refrigerator or a microwave oven. It might be the most beautiful refrigerator in the world, but it is still a refrigerator. Thank you Sreten for what you do and share with us.
The Best Video I’ve seen made by you . I don’t know how you could part with such a Beautiful Car with the Spirit of the Queen of the Nuremberg Circuit . Had a lump in my Throat and a Tier in my Eyes . What a Fantastic Tribute to a Wonderful Lady
Great tribute to a fantastic talented lady, sadly missed by many for her humor and superb driving skills.👍👍👍
Out of all the builds this one will stand out forever the tribute is insane. Forever the Queen R.I.P gone too soon😢❤. I really really hope you get that call one day
You're a great guy with an awesome community, I'm following you since the beginning of the channel. The quality, the entertainment.. It just keeps getting better, and this project, the tribute to Sabine Schmitz, it's just breathtaking.
Keep it up, you are awesome!
Goddamn, what a trip. Project Fresno was a handful but in a good way. It sucks that you couldn't keep it, Sreten, but such is life. Here’s hoping future projects run as smoothly as this one. Take care of yourself, and we’ll see you on the next one.
It’s a good thing you have done for Sabine, well done, and respect to all the companies that have supported you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😎
Gotta love that engine note, V10 M6 convertible must be insane 🎺🎶
Man, you made me tear up at the 50 minute mark. Thank you for this amazing series Sreten.
Thanks for sharing your illness with me!
I'm now the proud owner of an N54 powered 135i, and it's a gem.
Every weekend is "Cooooming up" weekend for me... off to go order parts.
Please restore an N54 powered car! 🥰
Hello from Victoria BC, Canada. Sabine was the best, loved her in the Top Gear van laps at the ring.
Not sure what I like more.
This V10 sound.
Or your smile when you listen to it :D
Sabine Schmitz would deserve to have a shrine at the Nür, she is The Lady of the Ring.
What a journey! It's amazing what you managed to pull off, truly a one-of-a-kind, and I'm glad it now is in the hands of someone who will take good care of it.
I think when Stretens leg let the jack handle fly up, demonstrated how his mood and feelings were at the thought of the way it has drove. ! What a motor, that plenum noise from that V10, brings the hairs up on my arms and neck. Thank you Streten, for again lets us all come along on your journeys! Can't wait to see what's next!
i can thank my brother for dragging me into the car scene and truly appreciating creators like yourself
much love
Scientific testing performed 👨🔬 Honestly, so cool that you once again revived this car, to honor the legend that is Sabine Schmitz 🏁
Boggles my mind that M539 only has
Oh well, I WAS going to do some work this morning... But Sreten went and changed my plans.
What a beautyful idea to honor Sabine with this incredible project. Some parts of the video really moved and got me emotional. Once more i have to say, that you are a geat guy and despite i am not related to cars in anyway, i love to watch you in your videos. You are a great enrichment to the world of car reltated videos. Thank you so much!
You're a legend. The smile during test drive was worth the long days and hussle.
Fantastisch, finally we get to see the final installment of Project Fresno. Beautiful homage to Sabine. Thanks, Sreten!
Shout out to Jason Cammisa for hosting Sreten and allowing us to see the result. Jason's comments in the background are hilarious too! Another awesome build Sreten!
I see M539 video available… I watch it. Best auto restoration channel on RUclips.
Say something about all these series - is like a say nothing. I am struggling to find a right words to describe what do i feel now, after watching this last episode. Perfection? Not enough.. Great job? Like say meaningless Hello. Just grab all good feelings and words you can imagine in your headbox and - they are all here. Just a huge human thanks for this series. Thanks to Top Gear team, so i do know who Sabine is. And this knowledge it made feelings about these series even warm... God Bless You, Sreten (all all people, who has been involved in this Project). God Bless You!
Man wow, I cried almost twice during this episode, well done Sreten. Hope you'll meet again
This has to be the best video I've watched on your channel to date! Every time I tune in and see a video posted by M539 Restorations, I know I'm in for a treat and absolutely delighted that it's over an hour long! This was really special, each time you had goosebumps...yeah I had them too, you brought another amazing machine back to life and paid tribute to an amazing driver...ehm let me re-phrase that....the Queen of the Ring...RIP Sabine Schmitz, you are a legend and will stay in our hearts forever!
This one is truly a special one as a tribute to the legendary "Sabine Schmitz" the Queen of the Nürburgring
Fantastic work Sreten, great to see you save another V10 M5, and the Sabine tribute too was very touching. Manual swap touring next?
lost for words so all i can say is what i said in the 1st video...u are an absolute legend Sreten....Sabine is smiling from above
my back and knees are in pain just watching this...LOL
I have never jumped so fast on video when i saw a notification that a new M5 video came from Sreten.
Best spent 1:18:52 seconds ever. Even after you work whole day fixing Aston Martins you go home on friday to relax and watch Sreten fixing glorious M5. No better feeling.
What a job, man, that's beauty, Sabine must be smiling wherever she is now. Amazing tribute.
Project Fresno, one of the most emotional project. Just perfection, Sabine would be proud ❤
And the fact the car was bought by a BMW manager to use and put on display it's a recognition to your amazing work! Grande Sreten, bravo!
I was thinking yesterday about when next episode of Fresno is going to be released and here we have it :)
People like you deserve so much respect! Truly a self made man living his dream ✌️
I am so happy how this great project turned out! Much love, Sreten!
This dedication to Sabine Schmitz is so incredibly good, it's the cherry on top of the cream of YOUR videos.
I love the picture of her at the back. You do really good stuff - and with style!
Love this channel. Has a great deal of information the right way..Thanks Brother.
Perhaps the best series Sreten has put out, it was just a joy being along for this delightful, funny and thoughtful ride.
Congratulations Sreten!
After Jeremy, James and Richard had the last “adventure”, you bring hope to the community by keeping the flame alive!
The Sabine tribute was emotional!
Thank you!
The best one yet, you and Jason are a brilliant combo , and a wonderful tribute to Sabine , laughter and tears in one amazing video, please have him back Jason. !!👍👍👏👏
SRETENE MI TE VOLIMO,svaki put kad otvorim RUclips i kad vidim tvoj video na feed-u,uvek mi ulepsas dan.
Sreten I’m watching your videos for a while now. I truly enjoy your fight to restore my favorite car brand. But until this video I never felt hair on my arms rase like with this rebuilt and tribute to Sabine. First time I saw her it was on 5th gear and fell in love with her. Great tribute and I truly hope that people outside of BMW community appreciate what you did. And in the end I know that Bimmers are addiction 😂 but we can’t help are selfs. Good luck and pozdrav from Balkan boy.
Your skill and the tribute to Sabine are beyond belief, this has been a great journey for the engineering, but the tribute is amazing. Thank you so much, keep it going
That's a PHENOMENAL job ! You have my RESPECT ! 💯
"Vorsprung durch Technik" in a PERFECT german Accent.
Jason, you are wild, man. Applause!
Final aiebag swap with battery connected? Living on the edge😂. But amazing series, dedication, and tribute to Sabine. Well done!
What a great piece of work. Love it. And I miss Sabine. Many thanks for keeping her memories alive.
Wow... what a great tribute to Sabine, combined with your talent.
The final is so sad and happy at the same time.
Thank you❤
I've watched it twice already and currently scanning through it to watch the best parts (I'm a patreon supporter). I wish I can like this video again. Must say I'm both sad and happy it's sold - wish I could have bought it!
I said it once and will say it again:
you absolutely may not die.
Surpassing everything BMW stands for. Legend. Thank you Sreten.
What can I say. Hands down the best car-spannering channel on RUclips. Fantastic projects, knowledge, connections, editing (click, click, clickety-click), humour... The full suite.
The tribute to Sabine Schmitz was an incredible touch to an amazing serie. I remember her when she appeared in Top Gear and she was awesome in there. Cheers 😊
Where the Grand Tour ends, Streten begins. This is the best BMW channel I have ever seen.
Thank you for taking us along! You Nailed it!
Found you about a month ago and I'm hooked. My favourite car channel by far. A fantastic tribute to Sabine, very emotional. Keep up the great work man.
Great video and a lovely tribute to Sabine Schmitz!👍 Got a lump in my throat and goosebumps when the tribute to Sabine started, unbelievable what a lovely person she was... and you are too, by honoring the Queen of the Nurburgring on that car man!😁 She would have been proud of that! 😃 Best regards, Dave
The tribute reveal send shivers down my spine. Great Video and lovely how that M5 Ring Taxi turned out.
I think that every car person watching this went emotional with the homage to Sabine, well done .
You can tell how fast Sreten is falling into madness as time passes by...
Something common among us, Bimmer owners. 😂
Your channel is so absolutely great. I find myself browsing old BMW listings pretty much all the time now.
Brilliant - start to finish - brilliant. Content, passion, humour, commitment.
Brilliant
Yea, the tribute bit was, well, a nice touch. The whole enchilada was a great watch, thanks.
Before I had kids my friday evening consisted of working on old BMW's. Now I get to sit on the couch and watch you do it. Perfect, no need to scrub my hands afterwards.
What a special episode, a well deserved tribute for Sabine.
Absolutely spectacular end result.
Great video en great tribute to Sabine! Also good that the car has received a good home.
Your best series yet. Loved it from start to finish.
Last year I had a free tour of the BMW factory in Munich. It's worth a look if anyone has a chance.
Everyone needs to keep these cars on the road as I believe everything is going electric in the next 5-10 years.
Congrats again
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Superb job Streten and a lovely tribute to Sabine.
What an amazing tribute to the late great Sabine Schmitz! I am quite sure she would love a manual E60 M5 and she'd be laughing while clutch kicking it around the Ring.
I have known Sabine personally and this episode made me tear up - what an incredible loss her untimely passing is
Just awesome...a brilliant tribute to an amazing lady..you should be very proud of yourself sir!
Why did I have a tear in my eyes when I heard that name, Sabine? May her soul rest in peace.
There is no video on RUclips of this length that I would even remotely think of watching except M539!
Fantastic Sreten, congratulations, and what a nice tribute to Sabine Schmitz.
That ride hight on the front is legit!
Sabine was so cool,❤🇮🇪
Fantastic job and a fantastic tribute to Sabine. For the first time I like the looks of the E60.
Okay, I‘m not gonna lie. I cried a little bit when the livery came on. Sreten, you are a legend!
You are the M5 V10 "Whisper" extraordinaire. Period.
Followed Sabine and the e60 around the Ring on a superbike - a proper treat to watch her work…and boy so did I to keep up!!
Sure she would have loved the manual transmission 😎
Dude you really pulled of something special here. The hard work you put in is simply unparalleled, but the result speaks for itself. The sponsors were amazing also, especially Bimmerworld!
