Joshua Reynolds: Thanks for the kind words. I believe I did a pretty indepth review on the 39MB about 6 months back....I'll have to check. Also, I absolutely consider trucks from RAM and GM anytime I am looking to purchase a new truck. I'm betting in 2019 both RAM and GM will have really upped the tech and feature levels in their trucks like Ford did this year. If so, they will be choices I will consider when I choose to upgrade again. I bought a Ford and have bought Fords in the past, but that does not mean Ford will always be the truck I drive. It really depends on who offers the most value, features, technology, and advancements at the time.

I don't live in the US yet, and will never need a Super Duty, (I think the most I'll ever need is towing a 5-6000 lb travel trailer) but something keeps me coming back to this channel. That is also a magnificent looking truck; I love the colour.

The Ruby red and the king ranch package are made for each other. Definitely the sharpest looking truck out of the 16 450 and the 350. Congratulations on the new F450.
Thanks for the answers!!! Turning radius is a huge plus in a truck such as this. I have a 2006 Ram 2500 with the long bed and I completely understand about turning radius. California, where I live, was built for small cars and mine doesn't always seem to fit in any space, lane or U turn. So I understand and am very happy for you. I really love those wind deflectors. Thanks for pointing them out and telling us what the brand name is. I put on some Weathertech deflectors, it's the first time I have ever used that brand and it's the first time I ever have gone with the type of deflectors that slide into the top of the window as opposed to the glue type. I really like the deflectors quality and look but I will never again get deflectors that are not glue taped to the vehicle itself. I will be replacing mine with the glue type again and I love how yours look. No matter what I do there is always a little bit of noise from them. They just can't seem to close the gap completely and I have had them on for a bit over a year. I'm sure the new ones that you have will be the same for the F-350's as well. Love the truck. I'm also a F-350 diesel dually guy but most of us watching this probably are, lol. Keep 'em coming' brother. Great job.

Thanks for this video clearing your truck purchases up. When I saw the latest video of this King Ranch 450 I thought "HUH???? Didn't he just buy and rave about a new 350 he just bought??!!" I was starting to think you switched trucks like I change underwear! Glad yoiu're happy with the 450 and the turning radius. After I retired from Public Safety, I got into driving a tow truck for a AAA contract station here in norther California. The contract station used -- almost exclusively -- the Ford F450 with the Century towing package WITH the wider front wheel track. I'm here to tell you that I COMPLETELY understand your passion for a tighter turn radius. A tighter turn radius doesn't just come in handy. It's an absolute necessity! The 450's tighter turn radius bailed me out of some potentially lousy situations, particularly with one on the hook! Enjoy this truck. I know you will. All the best.

It's all in what's important to a person as an individual. If turning radius is that important to you, then do what you gotta do. Good on ya. I just traded in a 450 for a new Ram 3500. I don't miss the turning radius of the 450, because I ended up torquing my trailer wheels really hard due to turning tight with the 450. I don't do that as much now with my new truck. I can pull almost as much as the 450, and I get better gas mileage doing it. That's important to me personally, and I hated the 19.5 wheels. While they looked cool, the ride was harsh and the tires were crazy expensive. I like the look of the 450 and have always been a Ford guy, but for me, the new Ram was the ticket. I like your truck...it's beautiful.
Thanks for the walk-around. She is a beauty! That color is outstanding. Lots of wow factor (IMHO). I wouldn't want two-tone with it either. I'm excited about the upcoming videos. For me, your videos are the next best thing to owning an F450. I can't really justify having one, as my travel trailer is only 3200lbs, but I sure want one.

That does look like a really really nice vehicle. I'm not normally a fan of red but it's a lovely colour. That turning radius would irritate, sounds like the dealer really wants to keep you happy!

Your new truck looks totally awesome. I love the red. I was hooked on the metallic red on my 2015 Mazda CX5 when I bought it in 2014. I understand, that vehicle is absolutely no comparison to a heavy duty pickup truck. I have no need for a heavy hauler but I really love big trucks and I watch all your videos because it allows me to live vicariously through your experience. Thank you and one other thing; I was happy you made it through hurricane Harvey without significant damage.

BIg Truck Big Rv could you give the height of the tool box above the bedrail I have 3" clearance on my '17 350 to my 5th wheel and on occasion get it close to jack knife. for security I am looking to add an alum. roll in cover such as rollnlock or retrax.
In November I started on the same road....had a 16 F450 and wanted a 17 truck drove both 350 and 450 and the turning radius was the final point that made me stay with the 450. I wanted to stick with the blue jeans color, so just had to order it. Got in Feb. Have 17500 miles on it...this truck is leaps and bounds over the 16. Ruby Red is a good choice also. I think when I get a chance I will upgrade to the Kelderman 4 corner air ride to level the truck and gain the adjustability. Some kind of dash cam would be good for legal protection would be good also (seems like there would be a way to use the on board cameras). I would like a tire pressure and temperature monitoring system for all of my trailers. Hope you like yours as much as I like mine...

I really love my new black platinum F-450 and use the tight turning radius nearly every time i drive the truck. I do have a question regarding the accessories... I ordered a bed cover exactly like yours and about 30 minutes later was talking to a salesman about buying a Weatherguard black tool box and he gave me a warning... "You won't want a tool box on your truck with a fifth wheel" he told me. Since i know you have a larger fifth wheel and i'm going to be (hopefulling) buying a large fifth wheel soon, i wondered if it's ever a problem for you?
You know I’m new to your site. I bought my F450 based on many of your reviews. Then I saw get rid of it. Gulp. But your back and confirming my choice. I’ve got the Sumosprings for the front and am working with them on the maybe customing some for the back (where the bump stops are) In northern Michigan we get a lot or road bumps in the winter. Hope to deaden those somewhat. Keep posting love your info. I am wheel and tire shopping. You are definitely against that I hear. Again, trying to soften the around the town ride. Can you believe I am still waiting for my F450 Platinum in Ruby Red? I finally got a delivery date out of Ford for September 21. That will make it 18 weeks of waiting. I am glad you made the change to nearly what I am getting. Thanks for the ASV wind deflector plug. I was wanting them too but didn't like the old bubble looking ones. When I searched for my 450 I looked everywhere, I was in Alaska ad no dealer had one. They could get one, but not what I was after. After many months I found one in MO. I looked at inventory everywhere. I'm so happy I found what I wanted, couldn't be happier.
BTBRV: why did you choose the surface mount as opposed to the in the channel mount option. I am guessing there would be more air flow with surface mount than in the channel. More distance between deflector and glass? Please let me know. Thanks
That new truck looks like it beats your kidneys out bad. I had a Ford f450 and I hated to drive the truck it beat my body Everytime. The turning radius is all I miss. Bought a new Gmc Denali 3500. Best truck I've ever had. Drives like a SUV
I think you made a good decision. That Ruby Red is my favorite color too, but I still prefer the two tone (But hey, it's not my truck!). I'm glad you got the chrome package too, it looks even more handsome with that option. Great content as always!
Here's the big question: If Ford had still offered the wide track option on your 2017 F350, would you have still upgraded to the F450 or been happy with the F350?
Big Truck Big RV - Is agree with that. I think the F350 with the wide track would probably be the best option out there for a 1 ton dually. Hopefully Ford will bring it back before I'm in the market to upgrade.
Big Truck Big RV - Do those AVS wind deflectors cause a lot of wind noise with highway driving? I had a set of WeatherTech in channel ones on my old Tahoe and the wind noise on the freeway from them was very noticeable. I hated them and haven't gotten any since because of that.

I'm new to your videos so I have a few to catch up on. The truck your in is beautiful. Love the colour. I have a 2012 Ford F 350 I bought it brand new. At 13,000 miles it started with death wobble. I hit a hole on the freeway and we were off to the rodeo. It was a very unnerving experience to say the least. I was doing about 70 miles an hour when it happened. Unfortunately I'm unhappy to say that I'm actually used to it now because it happens all the time. Ford won't admit to anything so I don't know where to go from there. You seem very knowledgeable any bring it suggestions or ideas anything is welcome thanks a lot I'm going to keep watching your videos
Buy good tires, you never have to worry about the pressure. My '11 came with Generals I just replaced them with Generals. Never had trouble with them or leaking air.
That's awesome. You know the other day when I seen you start test driving this truck I said to myself in a few days he's going to come back on and say that he traded his truck in for this one. And today I almost died when I Saw it. I was able to predict that because we have very similar personalities. I honestly hate to buy things because quite often I have buyers remorse almost immediately. I'm terribly indecisive even after doing my research. But definitely getting better at it. What's the front end width have to do with your turning radius ? You have 37" more of wheelbase on the 450,the turning radius is not supposed to be better. It's just a question of front end geometry,not only front end width. a simply wider front end will have a less good turning radius. moreover you have to consider the wheels offset,and front to rear track.
michaelovitch: the width allows the tires to turn to a full 45 degrees without contacting the frame or radius arms. On an F350 the wheel can only turn a max of 38-39 degrees
Have you ever considered swapping your outer wheels/tires to something with more accessible tire options? Maybe keeping the inner 19.5's on the duals, but going to a 20", or 22"? There are a lot of HD tires in the 20" category, and keeping the inner 19.5" will keep the weight rating right up there.
The red looks nice your previous F450 in the plain white it looked plain, if you are going with Ranch hand bumpers have them paint matched Ruby red or a combination of that and black.
I have the 2017 F350 dually and don’t understand why the turning radius is such a big deal. I really use it mostly for pulling my big fifth wheel though so making tight u-turns has not been a priority. Been cross country with it already and never once been an issue. Now you have the big commercial tire problem again that you were glad to get rid of when you got the 350. I also love the peace of mind with the 350 Tpms. Not a trade off I think worth it for turning radius.
Absolutely love your new NEW truck! I do notice I believe a slight voice shake in this one when driving? Anyways great choice. I hope to become an owner of one as my 06F350 is showing a bit of age from being in New England.

BIg Truck Big Rv could you give the height of the tool box above the bedrail I have 3" clearance on my '17 350 to my 5th wheel and on occasion get it close to jack knife. for security I am looking to add an alum. roll in cover such as rollnlock or retrax.

In November I started on the same road....had a 16 F450 and wanted a 17 truck drove both 350 and 450 and the turning radius was the final point that made me stay with the 450. I wanted to stick with the blue jeans color, so just had to order it. Got in Feb. Have 17500 miles on it...this truck is leaps and bounds over the 16. Ruby Red is a good choice also. I think when I get a chance I will upgrade to the Kelderman 4 corner air ride to level the truck and gain the adjustability. Some kind of dash cam would be good for legal protection would be good also (seems like there would be a way to use the on board cameras). I would like a tire pressure and temperature monitoring system for all of my trailers. Hope you like yours as much as I like mine...
Ruby red with the chrome package and 19.5s. Sharp looking truck. WAY better than the f350 you had. Great choice!
I'm glad you got the truck you wanted, I also have a 2017 f450 platinum ultimate pkg. And I searched the Internet looking for it and your right if you do find one, the dealership wants to mark them up.

I really love my new black platinum F-450 and use the tight turning radius nearly every time i drive the truck. I do have a question regarding the accessories... I ordered a bed cover exactly like yours and about 30 minutes later was talking to a salesman about buying a Weatherguard black tool box and he gave me a warning... "You won't want a tool box on your truck with a fifth wheel" he told me. Since i know you have a larger fifth wheel and i'm going to be (hopefulling) buying a large fifth wheel soon, i wondered if it's ever a problem for you?
You know I’m new to your site. I bought my F450 based on many of your reviews. Then I saw get rid of it. Gulp. But your back and confirming my choice. I’ve got the Sumosprings for the front and am working with them on the maybe customing some for the back (where the bump stops are) In northern Michigan we get a lot or road bumps in the winter. Hope to deaden those somewhat. Keep posting love your info. I am wheel and tire shopping. You are definitely against that I hear. Again, trying to soften the around the town ride. BTBRV- I am not sure if you remember with all you subscribers and comments you probably get. But I said you would regret the turning radius you were giving up. Can you believe I am still waiting for my F450 Platinum in Ruby Red? I finally got a delivery date out of Ford for September 21. That will make it 18 weeks of waiting. I am glad you made the change to nearly what I am getting. Thanks for the ASV wind deflector plug. I was wanting them too but didn't like the old bubble looking ones. Yours are perfect and I already told my sales guy to get them for me! AWESOME TRUCK MAN!!!

When I searched for my 450 I looked everywhere, I was in Alaska ad no dealer had one. They could get one, but not what I was after. After many months I found one in MO. I looked at inventory everywhere. I'm so happy I found what I wanted, couldn't be happier.
BTBRV: why did you choose the surface mount as opposed to the in the channel mount option. I am guessing there would be more air flow with surface mount than in the channel. More distance between deflector and glass? Please let me know. Thanks
That new truck looks like it beats your kidneys out bad. I had a Ford f450 and I hated to drive the truck it beat my body Everytime. The turning radius is all I miss. Bought a new Gmc Denali 3500. Best truck I've ever had. Drives like a SUV

I think you made a good decision. That Ruby Red is my favorite color too, but I still prefer the two tone (But hey, it's not my truck!). I'm glad you got the chrome package too, it looks even more handsome with that option.

Big Truck Big RV - Is agree with that. I think the F350 with the wide track would probably be the best option out there for a 1 ton dually. Hopefully Ford will bring it back before I'm in the market to upgrade.
Big Truck Big RV - Do those AVS wind deflectors cause a lot of wind noise with highway driving? I had a set of WeatherTech in channel ones on my old Tahoe and the wind noise on the freeway from them was very noticeable. I hated them and haven't gotten any since because of that.
I think they deleted the wide track from the F350 to drive folks into the F450. Pure marketing I bet. Imagine getting a wide track F350 with 3.73...
350 can get wide track I have seen them but 450 stops way faster bigger brakes drove both and got f450

I have a 2012 Ford F 350 I bought it brand new. At 13,000 miles it started with death wobble. I hit a hole on the freeway and we were off to the rodeo. It was a very unnerving experience to say the least. I was doing about 70 miles an hour when it happened. Unfortunately I'm unhappy to say that I'm actually used to it now because it happens all the time. Ford won't admit to anything so I don't know where to go from there. You seem very knowledgeable any bring it suggestions or ideas anything is welcome thanks a lot I'm going to keep watching your videos
the wide stance is really cool. my 16 black out ram 3500 is nice, but that ruby red really shines. nice truck

Buy good tires, you never have to worry about the pressure. My '11 came with Generals I just replaced them with Generals. Never had trouble with them or leaking air.

That's awesome. You know the other day when I seen you start test driving this truck I said to myself in a few days he's going to come back on and say that he traded his truck in for this one. And today I almost died when I Saw it. I was able to predict that because we have very similar personalities. I honestly hate to buy things because quite often I have buyers remorse almost immediately. I'm terribly indecisive even after doing my research. But definitely getting better at it. What's the front end width have to do with your turning radius ?
You have 37" more of wheelbase on the 450,the turning radius is not supposed to be better.
It's just a question of front end geometry,not only front end width.
a simply wider front end will have a less good turning radius.
moreover you have to consider the wheels offset,and front to rear track.
michaelovitch: the width allows the tires to turn to a full 45 degrees without contacting the frame or radius arms. On an F350 the wheel can only turn a max of 38-39 degrees

Have you ever considered swapping your outer wheels/tires to something with more accessible tire options? Maybe keeping the inner 19.5's on the duals, but going to a 20", or 22"? There are a lot of HD tires in the 20" category, and keeping the inner 19.5" will keep the weight rating right up there.
I would enjoy it if i could afford one but keep up the kick ass videos with the knowledge with Big Truck and Rv stuff.

The red looks nice your previous F450 in the plain white it looked plain, if you are going with Ranch hand bumpers have them paint matched Ruby red or a combination of that and black.
I have the 2017 F350 dually and don’t understand why the turning radius is such a big deal. I really use it mostly for pulling my big fifth wheel though so making tight u-turns has not been a priority. Been cross country with it already and never once been an issue. Now you have the big commercial tire problem again that you were glad to get rid of when you got the 350. I also love the peace of mind with the 350 Tpms. Not a trade off I think worth it for turning radius.
